I purchased 3 of these rugs for my bedroom. They were beautiful rugs, but I caution you! The rugs are made of a fiber that is similar to asbestos (I am Not saying it is asbestos, but that it is similar to it - to know the product content would need to be analyzed.) From the moment we opened the rugs and put them down, I could not breathe and the tiny particles coming off the rug went right to my throat. My voice became sore, then raspy, and by the time I saw the doctor the next day I had very little voice at all. It turns out I was allergic to the product - to the material it was made of and the rug dust that came off and settled on the floor. Dont get me wrong - these are gorgeous rugs (soft and nice under your feet, lovely colors, just beautiful! Even my dog got sick from the fibers coming off - coughing sneezing. If you have no known allergies and no lung conditions I would say get them. But if you have sensitivities or have children with allergies or sensitivities, I would caution you to choose another of the many lovely rugs they sell

Looks great, love the size I got (9x12) and it was soft but in the beginning. It sheds A TONNNNNN in the beginning but it says on the tag that the longest you have it and the more you vacuum it, it will shed less which is true so don’t be alarmed if your vacuum fills up in 3 seconds when it touches the rug.

I bought this because Wayfair offered a unique size I needed: 11 x 13. I wouldn't have bought it if it hadn't come in this size. When it arrived it was actually 11 x 15. It was clearly labeled 11 x 15 on the back of the rug (which I only discovered after realizing the rug was too big for the space I ordered it for). It weighs 107 pounds, and yet I will have to wrap it up and get it ready for Fedex to take back. The customer "service" rep was unsympathetic and acted like Wayfair is doing me a favor by even taking this rug back and giving me a refund. I was already aggrieved, and his patronizing tone didn't help. I will be rewrapping and returning this mis-sized, misrepresented and very heavy rug, and I hope my lower back will forgive me. Lesson learned: Don't trust the dimensions listed on Wayfair's website. I have made many Wayfair purchases in the past, but this was my last.

Absolutely Love It!

Incredible rug and great value. I bought this rug for under the dining room table and it is gorgeous, soft, thick with a modern texture. I chose the cream and grey which looks perfect with our laminate wood flooring. I also bought a 1/2" luxury pad and it makes a big difference, but the rug itself is thick and substantial. Walmart was a dream to order from and the shipping was fast and trouble free. Buy it, you won't regret it.

Gorgeous rug! There are blues, grays, beige, greens. Just the perfect balance to pull my room together. Tightly woven, so there have been no issues with my dogs. Very soft and feels good under my feet. Placed a thin rug pad underneath and it really added to the comfort

I am IN LOVE with this rug! I ordered it for my bathroom and then ordered it for my closet. My sister loved mine and ordered one too! It is so soft and padded. The wool knots are large but tight and with a Wayfair rug pad, it stays put and provides a great landing outside of the shower. It does have a high pile and my shower door just barely opens over the top of it. This rug would be great in an entryway too. I ordered the silver and it goes awesome with my SW Agreeable Grey walls! Highly recommend! My dogs love it too!

Highly advice against getting this rug with small children. We have had the rug less than 6 months and it sheds like crazy and is falling apart. We really liked the aesthetic of this rug and ordered a similar rug for the nursery (Calvin Klein brand) and the other rug is soft and does not shed like this one. This one physically hurts your feet sometimes and is course. All of the hairs get stuck in our infants fingers and is so messy to clean up. It sheds as much, if notmore, than our golden retreiver.

The rug is so beautiful. I was very surprised to feel how cushy it feels. We didn’t use a pad because furniture anchors it. There are balls of wool on the flip side that make it feel great underfoot. I highly recommend this rug and am seriously thinking about buying it in another color for another space. It is that perfect. As for Perigold service—incredible! I originally ordered a larger size. I was able to cancel my order, reorder in the 8 x 10 and still receive the rug within 48 hours.

Brown/Ivory/Gray: Beautiful rug. Colorful but muted and neutral as well -- creamy with a slight cast of pale green over gray blue tones.. Heavy and soft underfoot with substantial thickness.. Lays flat immediately. Perfect for family/living room/child's bed room or entry area. Modern but warm. Very on-trend.. Don't expect a brown rug -- it's not.

This rug is shedding horribly!! The amount of shedding from this rug is out of control. The carpet is barely 2 months old and looks nothing like it did on arrival. There’s no way to pick up the hairs and keep it under control. I tried to get a partial refund and Wayfair said it’s past 30 days even though the problem didn’t show until after 30 days. This rug is very expensive and the quality is not acceptable. I believe a partial refund or very good discount is in order but no one is helping from Wayfair. Very poor experience with this rug. I ordered 3 of them. Never will order from this company again

Extremely disappointed in this purchase. This rug shed so badly it actually gave me a sinus infection. I was vacuuming every single day and could barely keep up with the shedding. Also, any debris from around your home (lint, hair, etc.) will get stuck in the wool fibers - my Dyson vacuum couldn't even lift them out. I ultimately decided to throw the rug away after 6 months of use. I would absolutely not recommend purchasing.

After reading all of the reviews, many said that it shed terribly, I decided to still buy the Elle rug. I loved the look of it so much. Shedding has not been a problem at all. However, I am very disappointed that I ordered the 8’ rug and it actually is only 7’ 6”. I am using it under a dining table and it just is not big enough. My return date has passed because I ordered it for a new house ahead of time, did not open it before hand to keep it clean and ready to pack. My fault for not checking but I thought I could rely on Birch LN to send a quality rug. So it is beautiful but also disappointing.

Absolutely love this rug! Great quality! When we were rolling it out my husband even commented on quality. Does not shed. No strong odor after opening. Rolls out flat right from the package. The shipping was very quick as well!

Please do not call this a rug. It is a very large bath mat. It is very soft and flimsy. The color is great it is very soft but it easily bunched up and twisted even with a rug pad underneath. I’m going get some carpet tape hope for the best but this is not a well made heavy rug that I was hoping for. I should have been clued in by the reasonable price but there were so many great reviews. I can’t even imagine trying to vacuum this thing… yikes!

This rug is not actually “Elle Handmade Ivory Rug” by Birch Lane. It will come with a completely different item name and manufacturer name. I called Wayfair and they said this is a white label item, meaning several vendors sell the same item, they just rename it on the website. Additionally, the rug ordered was 8x10’ with an actual product width labeled as 96”. The rug arrived at 91” which is significant enough to notice based on our planned room design. Wayfair offered a discount for the defect in sizing.

Looks beautiful but sheds too much. If I would have written the review as soon as it arrived it would have been 5 stars based on looks and feel. But after 2 months and all the shedding it has lost a few stars. I purchased this for my baby playroom and the amount of shedding is horrible. Every time I drop anything on the rug such as a pacifier I have to clean it. I wouldn't recommend.

Saw this rug on TikTok and thought it was perfect. Grabbed it during a great sale. Shipping with FEDEX was a headache and a half, but once the rug arrived it was perfect. There is an initial amount of shedding during the first time you unroll it. Just vacuum a couple of times and you will be good to go.

This rug does not measure 8' x 10', it is actually 7'7" x 9'10" This was annoying because our couch is 8 feet wide so the rug was half a foot short. So if exact 8' x 10' measurements are needed, this is not the rug for you. The individual wool pockets in the rug are larger than our other rug which was more expensive. I included a photo of one with a quarter for comparison. It looks fine, but the tighter/smaller weave they are, the less the wool tends to pull or catch on things. Overall it's a good quality rug, just disappointed it is not the size advertised.

I read the other reviews before buying and I just didn’t believe people who said the rug shed a lot. I figured they were probably using the wrong vacuum attachments or were overly fussy. I was wrong. I have never experienced a rug that sheds like this. Literally giant tufts of wool come up if you walk across the rug. Slippers, socks, barefoot. Doesn’t matter. Big tufts of wool and then they drift all over the house like tumbling tumbleweeds of fluff everywhere. However the rug was true to size, looks nice and is comfortable under foot. We’ve had it about 6 months now. I pray the fluff will subside.

LOVE this rug! Got it for our bedroom - to reduce the dogs "walking" noise and warm it up a bit. It is perfection, so happy with every aspect - timely delivery, quality (really exceptional for the price point in my opinion), color and function. 24 years ago I bought a beautiful wool / cotton rug (for over $2k), and we still use it, and it's still beautiful. (don't worry we shampoo it, despite being against the advice, and it comes out softer every time) Being the same combo ... I hope this one lasts as long, it really is just what we needed!
