Overall very happy, obviously not waterproof, but it’s kept it’s rich color throughout winter & summer!

This is sold as an outdoor hardwood deck box. It is anything but. The floor boards inside the unit warped, and the top frame started to separate. I would say I got what I paid for if it was $20. not $198. These issues happened after the 30 day return policy. The seller does not even warranty the unit after that time. Do not buy!!!!

Lowest quality possible

When I pulled this out of the box and saw the poor quality, I actually had a hysteric laughing fit at how stupid I was to buy it. Seriously, I wouldn't have paid $** for this if I had seen it beforehand. Pieces warped, discolored, not fitting together. Glue showing, side slats aren't really slats but just sort of routed out of a solid piece, but incompletely, so some of the "slats" don't exist. I'll end here because I can't waste any more of my life on this thing.

Great deck box. Not too hard to put together. I only gave it 3 stars because the front trim on the lid appears a bit crooked which leaves a small gap when the lid is closed. It is stained in teak so it’s a bit orange-ish but that will weather and then the color will be fine. Overall, I do like it a lot but do wish more care was taken when assembled so that the lid sat flush when closed.

This is a great little piece for a patio. Easy to assemble (one small suggestion), decent quality considering price, nice to have real wood, not resin or plastic. Good storage. Solid strong hinges.

Update!! One week after purchasing this it rained. Two days later, I noticed cracked and warped wood on the top. Please see additional picture. So disappointing! This works well for outside and is large enough to put lots of stuff in! The stain is splotchy in some spots and the hinges are incredibly stiff, making it hard to open/ close. Hopefully that will get easier with use. All in all a nice unit.

This is a garbage piece. The directions make no sense, the predrilled holes make no sense in relation to where the pieces are supposed to go, endlessly frustrating putting this together. For the money someone should have taken a little extra care in assembly instructions. Do yourself a favor and do not get this.

Easy to assemble. Small parts packaging opened during shipping but I was able to locate all the screws and other parts. Lid hinges were a bit confusing but if you follow the installation instructions they do work!

Nice item. Assembly was kind of a pain. Would be nice to get a clear coat a varathane to weatherproof it as an option.

Nice box. Size and color are great. Hardware seems sturdy too. However, the pilot holes dont line up and arent big enough either for the screw to go in without completely stopping. We though the holes were off so we stopped and closed the lid and one side is about 1/4 inch higer than the other side. Dissappointed for $200 I would expect better.

Quality less than expected

This box is very easy to assemble, however 1) the pre-drilled holes did not line up correctly with the hardware and 2) when putting the screws in using a manual screwdriver, one of the sides split/cracked. The hinges are very stiff (even after applying WD-40) which means the lid requires some force to close and will slam down on fingers if not careful. It's 'as pictured', but the wood is a standard pine stained to look like cherry or teak. Once assembled, there is a ~1" gap at the back that will allow moisture to get in and the bottom of the box has two floating pieces that also leave a gap. We're keeping the item, because it serves it's purpose. However, we don't feel it's worth the price we paid.

The quality of the box is great; once the box weathers the color will be great. Right now it is an orange color that you can see from the pictures. Do look for damage though you can see in my pictures

This teak deck box by Ormond Outdoor Mfg by Furinno model# FG17685 is very nice quality and packs great functionality. The product is well built and well packaged, arrived undamaged in its original carton. Instructions were easy to understand and assembly is simple with one person. Take your time though, don't rush it. I used a power drill with appropriate drill bits for the assembly, the tools provided are basic at best and difficult to use. The hinges may be a bit confusing, that's because they look to be installed too far forward on the side walls. This is by design, this allows for almost a zero clearance between the wall the bench is up against and the top opening. The hinge helps rotate the top seat away from the wall as it opens. Very cool design and very useful. The seat is very strong too. There is a support member across the entire seat section and can impede on contents inside, i.e. propane tanks. No worry, I found that if you move the tanks to the backside of the compartment and turn the top of the tank with its opening forward, the cross seat support member will clear the tank tops and close fully. PERFECT! See the pictures attached. You better grab these while they last, it's a great buy at the price offered of *** each.

Great product for a reasonable price.

Great product for a reasonable price. We purchased this for patio storage that is weatherable, and it is working out perfectly during this recent rain storm.

A little disappointed.

Finish if very spotty. The hardware package had broken open, so it took a while to find all the screws. We're using it indoors so I hope the odor disappears. On the plus side, it was pretty easy to assemble.

I bought this to organize our outdoor space. It is great and sturdy. Putting it together you need two people and a drill. The holes were not predrilled will. It is beautiful on our deck and a great sitting space.

Good general storage box, but finish could have been better.

Good for its intended purpose, storing the kids toys however, Tenons pulled out of Mortises during assembly, and the stain finish is a bit splotchy and uneven. The wipe patterns of the finish stain are visible. A little carpenters glue took care of the loose joints, but we're stuck with the defective finish unless we refinish it. Overall for the price, it is a good unit, but not the best if you are seeking a higher end appearance in a more finished room in your home. It is very easy to assemble and it is a fairly strong unit after gluing up a few joints. Overall good design and construction, but just off the mark of excellent quality due to appearance!

May buy another box but use quality flat-head screws for lid

The box is good looking and sturdy. It was purchased to store bird food and feeders on our deck, and needed to be rainproof and raccoon-proof. We found it necessary to put a plastic box with a lid inside as the top of the storage box is slatted and allows rain to enter so is not 100% weatherproof. The mistake we made was not to insert the plastic container before assembling the storage box lid and we had to disassemble the lid due to the way the hinged lid opens. Assembling the lid proved the most difficult as the holes in the lid and the box did not line up, the provided round-head screws stripped out easily and we exchanged them for strong flat-head wood screws. The lid is held closed with a strong spring and the box is now very functional and attractive. It was relatively easy to assemble. Good value for the money and would recommend it and may order a second one for storing deck cushions.
