Melissa & Doug step stool

Beautiful and very sturdy! Easily assembled. Extremely happy with this step stool.

It's Fine.

Calling this “wood” is a stretch. It’s low quality laminate mdf. Arrived chipped in three separate spots. That being said it feels relatively sturdy, and is a good size for toddlers. I’m annoyed about the quality but not annoyed enough to return it.

Overpriced unless you buy on sale. Quality really isn't bad or that great. Ok for toddlers but seems risky for older kids.

Laminate plywood, arrived chipped

It's laminate plywood, not solid wood. It arrived with the laminate coating already chipping off. It's heavy for a toddler to move around, and it looks cheap. It squeaks with application of weight and doesn't feel particularly solid after assembly. As a regular-sized adult I wouldn't trust it.

Junk

I usually love Melissa & Doug stuff but this piece was garbage. It arrived with lots of tiny paint chips, the edges aren’t very smooth, and the steps creak when my toddler steps up on them. Frustrating because I’d seen some pretty steps on Wayfair but worried they would be junk from no-brand manufacturers. Spent the extra money to get a brand I trust and got junk anyway.

Good Product

Directions were easy to follow and put step stool together. Some pieces had chipped paint.

Best toddler stool for the bathroom sink!

The best, sturdiest, and height/width made of high quality materials. We loved it so much, we got a 2nd one! Good price point! Did my research!

Would not recommend

It’s very slippery when wet has no grips, and even though I put it together on a rug, the paint is all scraped off

A bit slippery

step treads are very smooth, so we ended up adding nonslip tread tape after daughter slipped while in socks a couple times! it does have its own nonslip tape for the bottom so it doesn't slide across the floor, which is helpful. great height.

Meh

After nearly 2 years there are negatives. If your kids are still having potty accidents just know it’s absorbing the pee. It will never be completely clean compared to a plastic step.

Two steps

I love this 2 step step stool. It’s the perfect size. It does require assembly.

poor design

Not wood, cheap and heavy MDF. Also if your kid is in socks... they will slip right off of this.

Not wood, but needed tall step stool

Not wood like the description says, but taller height to help my 3 year old reach the bathroom faucet to wash her hands. Most step stools our shorter.

Perfect Stool

This stool matches my daughter’s IKEA bed perfectly. It is higher up and she asked for a stool to help her get into bed. She loves it! Sturdy and cute.

The stool was heavy enough to not tip over but lightweight enough for an adult to easily move around.
