Nice, but…

While the chaise looks nice and was fairly easy to assemble, the cross braces were not all of the same length and were a bit short causing all the legs to bend inwards. I had to install several spacers so that the tube that supports the back fit into the slots. I also have a concern about using screws for the pivot point. I would have thought different hardware would have been used. Overall, the chaise looks great and hope to enjoy it for many summers.

Returning

The two positives are that it’s sturdy/durable and customer service has been awesome!!!

Nautical Chaise with wheels

One of the two lounges arrived with parts that were not assembled correctly from the factory and therefore it could not be assembled. We were able to get new parts shipped rather easily. These must be assembled with power tools. Don't even try it without them. We can't adjust the back of one to multiple positions without loosening and re-tightening several screws so we just use it in two positions instead of all. The wheels don't seem very functional but we've moved it very little so far.

Colors vary significantly and you can’t get in touch with a live person

Color (teak) is not anywhere close to what was shown online. I found an authorized retailer and visited their shop to see the color options in person. Their version of teak also didn’t match the color online. Interestingly, it was different than what I received as well. I would recommend ordering online. Go to a retailer and deal with them directly.

Considerably smaller chaise than expected

We bought two of these to replace older chaises. Compared to the furniture we had before, the overall size of these is measurably and surprisingly smaller given the cost. They're lower to the ground, narrower, the arm rests are almost too low to use, etc. Same with the cushions which are not very thick. It seems an economic mandate to minimize raw materials required to manufacture has won out over designing for customer comfort. The one good point is the material is very durable and should last a long time.

Love at first site

I scoured the internet looking for the perfect deck furniture, and found Polywood. Like everyone, I have purchased other stuff in the past that did not last. I decided on purchasing the Chaise Lounge set and 2 Adirondack sets (all 3 sets came w/ table). Items packaged very well, unboxed and read instructions (first time, unboxing revealed no missing parts). Instructions were clear, each peace went together with ease. These are sturdy & heavy and meant to last past my lifetime. I ordered Sand color, all 9 pieces look the same, no dye differences. This color will allow me to add a splash or color if cushions are added or other parts of the deck. They look GREAT on my deck, my husband was surprised when he came home. We can't wait to have family over.

Durable and pretty but a pain to assemble

Love the durability and look of these loungers. They are narrower than most chaise loungers, making it challenging to find cushions. Also assembly is not smooth. The little tool they give you is about 1/2 inch too wide at the handle. It takes some finagling to tighten the screws. Basically make half a turn, remove it from the screw, get the handle out of the way, make the next half turn, etc. Have patience, though, because they are pretty and comfy once they’re built.

Polywood

Love polywood. Looks nice, well made, and weatherproof. Will enjoy this for years to come. You will definitely want a drill to assemble.

Love them! Sturdy and definitely built to last. Please note that they ARE challenging to put together - much easier with two people. We are not at all new to assembling furniture, but forcing these screws through was tough in certain places. Third and fourth definitely went together much easier than the first two!! Looking forward to enjoying them poolside this summer! Note: I was worried about picking out cushions that would fit and these are PERFECT. Lisle Joss & Main Sunbrella, also purchased from Wayfair.

Back for more

We live in Las Vegas where the summers are brutal in outdoor furniture. Last summer we bought 4 polywood Adirondack chairs in white. They are very sturdy, easy to put together and completely comfortable to seat on during the hottest days 117 this year. This year we bought 4 chase lounges and two bar stool chairs to replace weather damaged ones we’ve had only a few years. Boxes were damaged in shipping but none of the furniture was. Easy to put together and they look sharp! So glad we spent the little extra to get these, the durability alone will be so worth it. Next year will be the dining set. Wish they had a daybed option.

Tough to assemble

Love the fact this is a composite lounger and the color we chose is great. The Polywood price for a composite product of this type is also very reasonable compared to other companies. Once finally assembled, we were quite happy with this lounger. However, assembling it was quite strenuous. All our other outdoor patio composite furniture is made by ****** and their products were so easy so assemble. The ****** hardware was fantastic. This Polywood product was a nightmare to assemble. Getting the screws in was very difficult and there is a need to be careful to not strip the head of the screws which are really not the highest toughest quality. Again, once assembled though, we were very happy with the finished product.

Don't let the 4 stars dissuade you, this is a nice chair. One minor nitpick and some observations:

5 Stars

Chairs are great no issues putting these together except the obvious make sure to pay attention to screw lengths in locations. I bought my first set without wheels and armrest and I did purchase the suggested sunbrella cushion in cast ash color. I literally kept sliding right out of the chair. Lol. Cushions are great but damp towel works. If you are only moving and adjusting your chairs a little theses chairs are great. if you would like to angle or move more than 12" the wheels are extremely helpful. I bought this set with no arm rest they work out just fine bought second set with armrest they just about disappeared with cushion. I also thought I might want the wider lounge but could not make that jump in cost. To me these are plenty wide and work for my son 6'2" 250lbs. But I can understand why some may want the wider lounger if I could make the cost jump I may have gone all out and bought the wider as well. just throwing out the issues I went back and forth with in decision making.

Love Polywood, BUT PLEASE MAKE THESE EASIER TO ASSEMBLE

We are completely sold on Polywood and keep buying more and more, but for goodness sake, PLEASE make these easier to assemble! We CURSE the engineer who designed the screw mounts. He/she should be forced to assemble these with the tools provided for 40 hours straight to see how they went wrong with the design .. and then they should be FIRED. We LOVE Polywood, but assembling these was absolutely ridiculous. The screws are too close to the side boards and it takes FOREVER to put it together (about 1.5 to 2 hours per lounge .. and very SORE hands afterwards). They decided to PAINT the screws, so the hex key barely fits and you can only turn it less than a half a turn per try (if you're lucky!). So FRUSTRATING!! PLEASE DO BETTER!!!

Beautiful strong narrow chaise

The first one was a little tricky to put together, as the directions do not have any words, but only pictures. It would help if Polywood indicated which side was "up", and the slants of the piece that support the recliner are tricky to figure out. Apart from that, I wish I had gotten the ones with the arms, as the chairs are a slight bit more narrow feeling than I expected--and I am a normal to thin woman. I do not recommend for large people over 150 Ibs even though the chair is sturdy enough to hold them--it is just too narrow. In either case, it is really only comfortable with a Sunbrella cushion, but is practical for use without one--though would be very slippery when wet. I buy Polywood for its durability and appearance more so than its comfort. It goes with all my other patio furniture.

My wife and I saw Polywood Adirondack chairs by the pool at an upscale RV resort while traveling in Maine. We were so impressed by the quality, we decided we would purchase this product when we returned home to the Florida Keys. We thought this could be the best outdoor furniture on the market for people living next to the ocean so we bought two chaises and placed them on our outdoor patio, just 10’ from a salt water navigational channel. I have all the confidence in the world they will withstand the elements. All hardware is stainless steel and the material (polywood) is as solid as wood but will not rot. They were easy to assemble and are very sturdy. I will be turning all my friends and neighbors on to this product, for sure! Oh, by the way, they are made in America.

Good company response and fine quality product

The lounges are sturdy, but the wrong legs came. The company sent the right legs for the four lounges we purchased fast. My daughter constructed them after buying a better tool to do it, however, she is a structural engineer. I chose these for many commenters praised them for lasting more seasons than some others. They are brown and the cushions I bought have white, beige, and brown which brightens the darker color. They go well with pavers on our pool deck. The weight seems to be average so that they won't blow away in a storm and yet they can be moved by strong women. We will see how comfortable they are soon, maybe after hurricane season.
