A good buy for the money. I just needed something simple to place inside the pool and this was a good choice. Unfolding mechanism is rather sluggish to operate but does respond. Fabric is not flimsy and can actually be aligned with fabrics of other higher end umbrellas.

This umbrella has been a real upgrade to our patio. The fabric and construction is substantial and the Dolce Mango adds some great, cheerful color to our outdoor seating area. I would definitely purchase this brand again.

NO LABEL INDICATING SUNBRELLA FABRIC

I have a Sunbrella umbrella. There is a label sewn l inside the umbrella that so states. I bought this California Umbrella because it was advertised as being made with Sunbrella fabric. California Umbrella is etched on the crank handle.. I don't see any other reference to Sunbrella. False advertising is unethical. The fact it was advertised as Sunbrella is a testament to the value of Sunbrella.

Great umbrella. Great price. Easy set up. I’ve tried all the fancy and high priced umbrellas. This is all you need. It exceeded my expectations and performs better than the expensive umbrella it replaced.

Perfect until…

Umbrella for perfect on my porch. The pole was sturdy and handled the rough winds. Color matched just as the picture showed. All was good until I was chilling under the umbrella on my new recliner lawn chairs and it started to rain…. Oh boy you guys!! It was NOT water proof!! What!! I love the rain and was hoping to sit out and enjoy the sound and smells. Welp!! Not happening so sad. That was the only disappointment and it was a huge disappointment. All else was perfect.

Awful Purchase

I purchased this umbrella online. After frustrating weeks of no delivery, I went directly to a local HD and a helpful service person got my umbrella to me in a few days...

Lasted 8 years, ordered another

I bought this umbrella in 2016 and it's been great for 7 summers. Barely looks like it's faded. Today the wind picked it up and threw it into my shed and broke one of the arms. No question, I ordered the same one again. I did have to replace the cord in it a few years back, but I used some extra paracord I had and fixed it in about 30 minutes. 7 years is a good run for a $100 umbrella, and I probably would've gotten a couple more out of it if it hadn't sailed off.

Great umbrella!! It was super easy right out of the box. Just insert the bottom pole into the top and you are good to go. The umbrella is light weight so I was able to set it up myself. I popped it into the umbrella stand and all I had to do was crank it open. It was easy to crank and easy to tilt. I love the color and the fact that it is sunbrella material. It is a great size for over a dining table and provides great shade. Overall very happy with this umbrella!!

Shouldn't be reviewing until time allows for more accurate evaluation but so far, umbrella received compares accurately to description on website. Fabric and aluminum seem to be of good quality. Don't know about 'lasting' quality and that is what is of interest.

Disappointed

I really wanted to like this umbrella. It arrived yesterday, earlier than scheduled in an undamaged box. However, the strap is poorly designed. Rather than stitching it in one of the rib seams, it’s attached in the middle of a panel and arrived with a hole. I haven’t decided if I should return or not. I certainly don’t feel comfortable using the strap for fear of making the hole worse. Attention manufacturer - either move the strap or reinforce it!

Colorful and durable patio umbrella

This is the second Sunbrella I've purchased, due to the durability and quality. Defiantly worth spending a little more on the Sunbrella brand. Other no-name brands tend to fade quickly in the California sun, but not so with Sunbrella. The fabric is thick, sturdy and washable as well. I LOVE the yellow!

The umbrella comes in a well packaged and sealed box and comes out quite easily. Putting it up was also very easy. We get a good amount of wind here in WI so I do not leave the umbrella open when the winds are a bit gusty.

NOT SUNBRELLA

This umbrella is of poor quality. The fabric is not Sunbrella. When I set it up, I could LITERALLY see through the fabric. I've provided photos, the first is of the building next door, the second is the "North Bend 9-foot Auto-tilt Round Sunbrella Umbrella by Havenside Home", the third is an umbrella that is actually made with Sunbrella fabric. I'm extremely disappointed in the bait and switch on this product. If you're okay with "sort of shade" you may find this a passable product, otherwise, steer clear!

Great umbrella at this price point

This is a great umbrella at the price point. Sunbrella fabric is incredibly durable and gives the umbrella a higher quality look/feel. The aluminum pole is light which makes it very easy to transport or put away, but it also makes it feel less durable than previous umbrellas we've owned. We have it anchored in a 50 lb wheeled base (also from Home Depot) and it tends to lean side-to-side in the wind (though only slightly). Net net, we're very happy with the purchase and would recommend to anyone looking for a sturdy, lightweight umbrella at this price point.

Good quality BUT BEWARE Color Is Hit or Miss

We received early the North Bend 9-foot Crank Open Auto-tilt Bronze Umbrella by Havenside Home (Color: Terrace Sequoia). The cloth fabric is medium heavy and of good quality (not like the thin and might easily tear polyester nylon material other umbrellas use), BUT the color online is much lighter which was what I actually wanted. Instead, the actual color is much darker (like a tobacco brown) and it is striped, not solid, as the product description indicated online. When the sun shines on it it actually has a gold sheen. I am still trying to adjust and get used to the color and am still on the fence if I will keep it since it can reflect "bright gold" and can be blinding when the sun is shining. I am seriously thinking of exchanging the color for a non- "Terrace" version. This is why it gets a 4-star and not a 5-star.

Broke in less than a week! Delivered on April 25, 2021, today is April 30. Raised it every day this week and lowered it in the evenings, just in case the winds kicked up. The crank-tilt feature is nice instead of reaching up to push a button to tilt it manually. Cranking it the first time to get it to tilt took some effort (directions warn to to over crank) but it worked by cranking it slowly until it gave in. Afterwards, it was easy to crank after the umbrella was open to engage the tilt. I tried opening the umbrella this morning. I kept turning the crank and nothing happened because the handle became loose as I turned it. I guessing the inner string is also disconnected because there was no tension to open the umbrella. I am making an unplanned trip to HD to return it today. The deep dark navy color was exactly what we wanted and the canvas-like material is good quality. Bought it because of the dark blue color and tilt feature. We decided to pay over $100 to have the convenient tilt feature. Very disappointed. Will be buying the a less expensive manual tilt umbrella to replace this.

This one is hard to review because there is both good and bad. The umbrella is well made and very nice and it is easy to open, etc. It fit perfectly in the base that I already had. My only issue is that it doesn't seem to give the same sun blocking as my old umbrella. My former umbrella was several hundred dollars with Sunbrella fabric. It totally blocked the sun. After several years, it got mildewy, so I got this one to replace it. The fabric is on the thin side and the sun comes through it. The price is so low that I'm going to live with it for this season. I think a "good" umbrella is just going to cost more and it depends on what you are looking for.
