I needed this to latch a gate on my fence....

I needed this to latch a gate on my fence. It was easy to install but I was a little disappointed at how soft the metal of the screws is. They seem to want to strip out easily. I was screwing it into fir fir 2x4's which really aren't that hard. I suppose pre-drilling would have solved this.
