Cleaning is an issue
I like the machine but can Ninja address the flaws in the outer bowl lid for cleaning?? I have had my machine two years and had no real issues until recently. I noticed the lid was full of mold and dried ice cream. There’s no way to take a part the lid and no way to reach all the mold that covered the springs etc. I soaked it in vinegar and decided it was better to buy a replacement lid. It’s obvious it’s a problem as I see all kinds of videos and posts about how gross the lid gets. Also there’s no way to clean the rod that dips into the ice cream without running it half way through unplugging the machine and taking off the lid half way to try to scrub it and then have to re run the machine with water to rinse it. Overall I enjoyed making the ice cream but I can live without it
Terrible customer service and products
We bought a ninja cream only to have the blade portion of it break off into my ice cream within a year of having it with minimal use. I have been on the phone with customer service repeatedly over the last two months trying to sort out the issue and get a new blade, each time they told me it would be coming soon. They sent me new parts I didn't need and charged me for them, however, the blade which was the only part I needed, is now indefinitely on back order and it took them two months of me calling before anyone let me know this! And after all that, they told me I have to go out and purchase a new blade on my own from Amazon and refused any reimbursement. So after all this, I still don't have a working ice cream maker! This company is not worth your time or money, find a different ice cream maker elsewhere.
Super recommended
The best ice cream maker. The only complaint I have is the time you have to wait for your mixture to freeze to make the ice cream but overall it is amazing! Have to prepare about 12-24 hours before you want to enjoy it. I also recommend buying additional pints just for the ease of making multiple flavors. It comes with two, but I have a family of 5 and we each like making our own flavors. Highly recommend!
Creamy Confections
The Ninja Creami is a bit difficult to operate, and it requires a careful study of the manual before using. However, it makes very light, creamy confections, including frozen yogurt, and allows you to customize your recipes. You can also add mix-ins such as fruit. Overall, it is a worthwhile purchase!
I love this machine (wish I had the #ninjacreamideluxe !) For years I haven't been able to enjoy ice cream because I am mainly lactose intolerant and buying special ice cream is expensive! This machine let's you make your own at a fraction of the cost. Just freeze your ingredients solid (i give it a full 24 hours) and blend away! Presto, you have ice cream! It gets one star knocked off for being SUPER loud, but keep in mind, it is hammering through solid ice.
It’s not the machine, it’s you!!
I would recommend staying clear of this machine. I would give it 0 stars if that was an option. It was given to me as a gift from my daughter who loves hers. To be honest, the machine seems pretty powerful and does turn ice cream into a pretty smooth treat. But the mess is incredible. We have tried it many times with frozen ice cream following the instructions completely but yet we always have a mess outside the machine and in the outer cup that runs down through every nook and cranny. I have called tech support just to be told that am using it wrong! They told me that we should keep all materials in the cup at least 2 fingers below the max fill line!! Then why have a max fill line. It is clearly either a design flaw or a bad gasket, but Ninja wouldn’t have any of that, I am doing it wrong! When I suggested that the instructions say not go above the line then I would take that to mean up to the line is OK. Clearly not, So this machine is designed to make shakes that won’t fill a baby cup. My daughter seems to have better success with the 11 in 1 unit. But this unit is disappointing. I am confident the gasket is the issue but Ninja thinks it is not being used correctly. I was told by Ninja customer service, sorry, we can no longer help you. Great customer service! I have at least 6 Ninja products in my home and support has been great until now.
Easy to assemble and use!
Definitely easy to assemble and use
Best ninja machine ever!
What an incredible machine! I can make wonderful smoothie bowls, gelato, ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet and milkshakes plus anything else in between! Glad I bought extra ninja containers because I’m using this everyday. I can’t be happier with my purchase and I’ll never buy store made again. So much can be made at home now.
A staple in my kitchen!
I originally bought the creami breeze last summer and absolutely loved it. I make protein ice cream and sorbet regularly. After about a year of use one of the parts broke and I was able to get the newer model through my warranty. I love it and use it multiple times per week. My neighbors love coming over for ice cream parties too :)
I already have the Cuisineart Ice21 but the reviews online on a home based Pacojet were too intruiging to ignore. The pros are that the workflow is simple. Chuck everything together into the bowl. Freeze 24hrs and spin. Good for recipes using higher water content with little to no stabilisers. The recipe in the video only consists of 3 ingredients, sugar, strawberries and Greek yoghurt. Turned out very well, comparable to a certain froyo chain but with more control over the ingredients and ultimately the calories.15 pints later:-1. 3 pints is not enough. Get more spare pints for more flavours. I had chocolate, coffee, root beer, lychee and watermelon flavours all in my freezer at one point. 2. Greek Yogurt makes for a decent natural stabiliser but the drawback is the slight tang in the overall flavour.3. The lid housing the blade is not fully sealed and melted ice cream can get into the hollow crevices. Make sure flush out the area thoroughly with soap or don't if you enjoy funky smells.
Not an Ice Cream Maker
This is basically just a way to break up something you freeze. This is NOT an ice cream maker and calling it that is misleading. I wanted something to dump the ingredients in, press a button, and get ice cream out. Not sure if it’s worth keeping. Too much trouble to send back. Sorry I bought it direct from company.
Favorite Appliance
LOVE this new appliance! This is by far my favorite appliance I have for the kitchen. Would highly recommend and I use it every day. I use ricotta cheese, not cream cheese and it comes out creamy like a brand name I've had. The ice cream is delicious. Easy to follow recipes and most importantly, the machine worked exactly as advertised. Totally happy with this purchase. It is a tad loud, so hit the button and walk away for just a minute. Would purchase again.
Smooth & Creamy with the Creami
Obsessed with this product! Wanted to be able to make healthier ice cream that tastes good! (Goodbye Halo Top!) I add my favorite protein powder to some milk and if I’m feeling extra I add some mix-ins. Smooth creamy ice cream every time. Just be warned…this machine is LOUD. Like LOUD LOUD. That’s my only complaint…make a quieter version!
I've been seeing reviews of this product in Youtube and I've always wanted one, seeing that you can easily customize your flavors. I also like the fact that you can make multiple flavor pints, freeze it and take it out when it's time to creamifi!! I tried it first with a lemon sorbet recipe (from the provided Ninja test kitchen booklet) and it was reaaally good! Restaurant quality! I am now going to make Avocado and Mango ice cream as well as sorbets! Honestly, it's super expensive here in the PH, this os only 199usd in the US... but that is just how it is. 220v and with warranty. It's summer now, and the timing to get this is perfect! Wish you can sell the extra pints here too!Update: I just made mango sorbet and avocado ice cream, this machine is a game changer!
[Rewarded Review] Get this machine!
I’ll tell you what.. I didn’t know that I was missing out until I got this little machine. And with the way it’s been hot outside too, this has definitely been the best new addition to my small appliances. I’ve already made sorbet and two different types of ice cream with dairy alternatives. The possibilities are endless for what you can create. Make sure you clean after every use and even get the little piece on the machine that you cannot remove as well. I’m addicted to making my own ice cream. If you get this… you will totally be too! This is one purchase you won’t regret.
Incredibly Disappointed
So incredibly disappointed. I bought this machine from Costco, returned it and got another one and the same things happened. The blade does not stay on. It either falls off immediately or when it touches the icream and no it was not too hard. One time it got stuck sideways at the bottom of the cup and burned out, metal shavings all over the ice cream and smelled burnt. It also does not mix all the way to the bottom of the cup. Please fix these issues and I will certainly buy the upgraded version!
[Rewarded Review] Easy to use if you pay attention
Fantastic fun. If you are on a diet or watching calories this gives you the ability to even make protein shake icecream. In addition it really easy to use. Just be careful you always put the lid on right, i did it mindlessly once and got it jammed. Easy display and online recipes
[Rewarded Review] Plastic shreds in ice cream!!
After using our Creami numerous times, I noticed shredded plastic in our ice cream. It seems the blade is scraping the inside of the plastic pint container. This happened with multiple pints so I called Ninja Customer Service. I was informed that it is a known issue, they are working on it for newer models and that she could help me purchase a newer model. When I asked why this product hasn't been recalled, she hung up on me. I have since filed a complain with Consumer Product Safety Commission - if you search Ninja Creami you'll see there are 172 complaints about the Creami and most are regarding plastic shreds in ice cream.
Great even for low calorie options!!
I really do love the Ninja Creami! I got it on an impulse when I saw it on sale and have really enjoyed it. I don't eat sugar or flour and am very strict with my portions, so I wasn't sure how well it would suit me. But so far, the frozen fruit and yogurt dishes I am making have not triggered any cravings or caused any issues. They are just such a nice way to have my fruit and either half my protein or my fat in the heat of summer. My recipe is easy - 6 oz crushed fruit, 4 oz plain Greek yogurt, a splash of zero calorie drink. I freeze that and just before blending on Lite Ice Cream, I add a splash of almond milk. At the end of the cycle I'll usually add a touch of salt and maybe a little stevia since it doesn't trigger me and give it a Respin. So tasty! So creamy! I am a fan!! I can only imagine what it would do with truly decadent items, but that's not on my menu!
Great Icecream! - Unreliable Machine
My first Creamie didn't work out of the box, the one they sent me in replacement worked for 2 years and caught on fire last night. Honestly, I will still order another one because the ice cream quality is incredible! When they function safely I would give this product 10 stars...But seeing as a friend of mine is on her 4th creamie (the other 3 caught fire) I can't say the product quality is very good...
