Pure Rustic charm!

For me, it takes one certain thing to inspire a change. It may take months of searching to find the key, the starting point, on which to start building on, and this sink happened to be the inspiration for the 1950's bathroom that is mine. The copper is beautiful, I chose the natural finish and it did not disappoint. It was packaged carefully, which I so appreciated, given that copper is a soft metal, even at the high end of 16 gauge. I had it in a"saved basket" on a different website, but since joining the Overstock rewards, I thought I would check. Oh yes, there it was, 5% rewards AND a significant $70 savings over the other website's discount. (Enough to justify searching for tile and accessories). I did a trial "install" and have added my thoughts and suggestions here. 1. This sink is hand made "Metal ART". It will age and patina beautifully with minimal intervention. 2. It is not called a "vessel sink", (which I am not a fan of from a 'function' standpoint) but, with a 2" high rim/shoulder, creates a beautiful 'presence'. After making a few cardboard faucet mock ups, I concluded that a taller "vessel water faucet" is needed to avoid getting lost behind the 2" shoulder. (There are no holes to mount a faucet onto the sink itself). All of that being said, I chose a deck set, single hole, matte black, waterfall vessel faucet by Miseno (also here on Overstock). The cat will love it. 3. There was not a 'cut out' pattern included for setting the sink, but, being a hand made piece, that may be a good reason why no pattern is included. I did a cardboard box vanity mock up and came up with a solution. I am sure anyone can find some DIY suggestions on YouTube for making one as well. I hope to add a picture of the completed project in a few weeks. I hope to use a live edge wood slab as the new vanity top, and mosaic slate for a backsplash and floor to create a subtle rustic charm.
