Not Sure

Push button was nice and easy to replace. My only problem is you have to press and hold the button for the door bell to finish it's chime. Our previous intercom button when pressed the chime would complete it's chime without having to press and hold for the chime to complete. Is there something I'm missing about the installation. I could not recommend good or bad. Not sure if item is defective or not. I might have purchased the wrong model number. Thanks, DRM

Good button, but be careful installing

Good replacement doorbell button. But be very careful installing. The switch is in 2 parts that break apart very easily. So make sure to hold the button together while tightening the screws holding the wires, because otherwise the button will break in 2 and be ruined.

Exactly what I needed

Arriven in perfect shape. It was what I had been looking for that would fit my door bell button.

Be careful using this switch

Its a replacement switch of fragile construction. Requires using some type of adhesive to hold it in place. I tried a glue gun. The hot glue melted the switch so I had to get another.

Poor design

It fell apart during a simple attachment. I had to reassemble the switch. It works fine, not sure for how long.

We have a Nutone Door Station, in use since 2002, we moved in last year. Door bell (door station) button stopped working. Took the unit apart and discovered a male fitting into the female fitting on old push button. Had me confused because I'm not exactly a door it yourself person, but can figure some things out. Couldn't find parts to match what I had installed. Saw this push button on Home Essentials Direct and figured I'd give it a try wiring the unit directly instead of into the male fitting as was originally installed. It worked, door bell now working again. Use a plastic screw driver end to get the old push button out of the hole, carefully.

Two (2) stars because when the light works, we like. We were excited to have the opportunity to buy a replacement on the brand originally installed in our newly constructed home. However, we see the sturdiness/durability is just not there. We should have known, our originally installed button became cracked within a few years; and, this, as the replacement, stopped-working (the light) within a year. [The whole idea of buying this was that the button was lighted.] So if you want to keep replacing your doorbell button year after year, keep buying this brand. I am sure the factory in China will be happy. Blahhhhhhh.

It is amazing how fast technology moves on. With all the latest tech out there it is good to know there are replacement parts available for these old guys. My old ones' bulb burned out and the connections were so corded that the button no longer functioned. There was also a you tube video that explained the process in simple to understand terms on how to install it. I did not have to go through numerous buttons to get it right. Bought two more for future. Works great!!! Doorbell works again!! The button as well as the clear ring around the button light up.
