Should work perfectly for support of a fireplace mantle in a rental apartment. I expect that the corbels will take a stain and provide attractive support for a rustic, weathered, rough cut 2 x 8 mantle. Finish and detail very good, packaging excellent and shipping faster than expected.

We used this for our snack bar in the kitchen. Wanted snack bar to have a finished look with brackets that looked as if they were supporting countertop over-hang. I painted them with no issues; took paint well with two coats of white to match the cupboards. It is crafted beautifully. Sleek-look, solid, modern and well made. These could be used in all decor. I love this look. I highly recommend and would purchase this again.
