The cutter is not sharp enough. Maybe teeth to cut the grass would be helpful.

Doesn’t cut through sod effectively. I weigh 250 pounds and even with my weight it just won’t cut through.

will likely work easily for bahaia, but it is challenging to use on flortam like i have in the front yard. does not easily cut the stems. price reasonable but arrived in an Ace Hardware box.

This is called a "sod cutter," but my experience is that people use it for keeping the grass from growing over the "donut" and sprinkler head. The instructions say to not "twist the handle" but it doesn't work otherwise.

It's a well made tool but it is not the right size to make the cutouts for the Orbit Sprinkler donuts as the item description claims it is. It turns out that the donuts are just shy of 6" in diameter and this tool cuts a 7" circle. If I needed to cut a 7" diameter circle, this would be an ideal tool for doing so. As for cutting out for the donuts, its not the tool for the job...

This cutter is much stronger than many competitors' units, including the big Depot. The handle is attached to the shaft in a way that avoids the weak crimped joint that causes others to break.

Save your money

Thought my son did something dumb when the handle twisted off. Just used the second one I bought and the same thing happened first time I used it. Had it too long to return, ugh. Going to buy a serrated knife now. Orbit should be ashamed. Fool me once... This is not a tool. It's a toy with a tool price. Don't waste your money, especially with St Augustine grass.

The sod cutter made the job of putting sprinkler head donuts down in my yard. I would definitely recommend the device especially if you the area is surrounded by St Augustine grass.

Doesn't really work

Sod remover really doesn't work. The direction says that you must NOT turn it while using it. You are told to step/stomp on the circular cutting blade. That really doesn't work because you mostly just push the grass into the ground. It won't cut the grass easily.

Did what it was suppose to do.
