Not waterproof, but otherwise great

Got this when we had our first baby, who is now 3. So great to have an Infant side and Toddler side and he's still enjoying it! One thing to note: it's billed as waterproof but is NOT. It wasn't until our kid was toddler that he properly pee-soaked his bed. I didn't stress until I noticed the urine had soaked into his mattress. Washing with a sponge didn't help much as you can see the thing layering that it quickly soaked into. So, we got a mattress protector (no big deal). Would still buy again with this caveat!

Make affordable for ALL families

All families and their children should have a healthy and well-made crib mattress-not just those who can afford to spend more. Without a much-appreciated discount code, this product would have been out of reach for us, and was still a significant expenditure. I hope Naturepedic is actively advocating for higher mandatory standards for ALL crib mattresses so that low-VOC products become the standard, and these items become more available and affordable to everyone.
