Best kitchen Island design

I love my new island in my kitchen. Looks and works great. Great slide on the drawers. Spice racks and towel holder on both sides. Cookie sheet holder is awesome. Nice off-white color that matched my cabinets. Real wood. Looks modern but antique as well. Fits any decor. Easy to put together. One of the magnets didn't line up with my cabinet but I just moved it forward a bit. I highly recommend it.

Stay away and do not buy!

This island was the perfect fit for my kitchen but unfortunately after almost finishing assembly I realized that the door handles were missing the thread and that they sent me to right doors. Also the gap between the doors is huge even if you have the right doors. I reached out to the manufacturer customer service and they basically told me they didn’t have the parts and that I would need to return which is a pain because I already built the thing! Awful awful awful.

Very nice looking and well built. Disappointed that there were nicks and scuffs in the top. I stained the nicks, couldn’t get the scuff off. It was packed well. Overall it’s nice and I’m happy with it. Assembly wasn’t too bad.

Awesome multi storage island/cabinet

This island was everything I was looking for to put inside my walk in pantry for storaging items. It holds on top a huge/heavy commercial cappuccino maker and my kitchenaid mixer. Two large drawers with dividers in one of them. The bottom doors has a divider for cookie sheets and boards. The other side has 2 shelves that are adjustable. Both sides of cabinet has 3 small shelves for spices or small glasses. Towel bars on both sides. This cabinet is very very heavy when put together. Was not fun to put together but most things aren't. Well made for this type of cabinet. I love it!!

Well built island that will last years!

The island is pretty heavy and is surprisingly good quality. The top seems to wear a little faster than expected but it has taking on a more aged farm house look. Just be ready to have two people help move the boxes as it really is quite heavy. Assembly was quick and easy.

I like the island. It’s really nice, the style is exactly what I wanted. It’s sturdy and fits perfect. BUT there were many issues. First, it took six weeks to ship to store. Second, parts were missing, threads were missing and some of the screws didn’t line up. My husband had to finagle a few things to make it work. Third, huge nick on solid wood top. Overall it’s a nice piece of furniture with a lot of assembly issues.

cute but poor alignment

The cabinet is adorable but the front doors don’t align without a hard push, there’s a white spot on the front, and one screw wouldn’t ever go in. Required a drill because the Allen wrench was impossible. The company refunded me $70 which is nice.

Beautiful piece, perfect size, great features, and easily assembled. Great value too.

Exceptional

This cabinet is exceptional, my son put it together in a few hours. He said one piece was miss-aligned which he corrected with no problem. It matches my cabinets that were installed 48 years ago and repainted white over 20 years ago. The spacious cabinet and drawers are so nice. I was able to put my Micro Wave oven on it with space to spare. Great addition to my household.

Kitchen Island + Hayneedle ++

Solid build and easy to out together. Looks top notch. But the real value was the excellent customer service at Hayneedle.

Why did I not purchase an island before?

I love this island and dont know why I never purchased one before. I had to have help putting it together and my husband had to use alternate hardware (bolts) cause some wouldnt fit correctly but otherwise it works for me and no one knows how it is put together on the inside!!

Looks great but don't be deceived

Ordered this a few weeks ago and just finally put it all together. While the wood and quality is nice and the cart once put together looks good unfortunately the third party vendor did not send us the pieces at once and we had to jump through many hoops to get the entirety of this unit. Once we received all parts and put it together we realized that there were pieces that were missing hardware that didn't fit properly holes that were not drilled fully and sections that didn't fully line up. We finally got it all to work was a lot of shimmying and elbow grease, unfortunately at the very end the drawer screws were off the rails, the handles and towel holders did not have the appropriate screws and we could not install them until we buy new screws, and there were no magnets to hold the doors closed so the doors just keep flapping open. For over $600 this unit should have been much easier and better in terms of its quality, parts, and having everything just simply match up.

Difficult to put together but worth it!

I’m very pleased with the quality and durability of this piece. It’s a nice heavy piece of furniture and functions well. We recently moved into a new home and I needed additional storage and counter space for my tea area. I’m rating this 5 stars because I purchased this on sale and for the price I paid, I can happily live with the additional steps required to put this together. However, I would not advise purchasing this piece if you don’t own a drill and drill bits and if you are not handy or have access to someone handy who can help you. The reason is because many of the pre-drilled holes were not drilled out and it became a somewhat long and difficult process to put this piece together. During the 2 1/2 hour process my son and I found many places that needed to be pre-drilled to fit the dowels to secure the countertop and missing screws on the inner drawers that had small stress cracks from the manufacturer. Also, we had trouble with one screw that secured the top that didn’t want to attach. However, after 35 minutes with a rachet we had in our tools, we were able to make it work. Again, this isn’t going to be a piece that you simply follow the directions and will come together with ease. Be prepared to be challenged and work through your roadblocks compare to their directions and to figure it out on your own. But after you come out on the other side, I think you will be happy with your lovely island. Lastly, you’re going to need a vacuum to clean up the large mess, lol... at least I certainly did!

Looks good; assembly a challenge

The item is as described online. The color is beautiful and adds greatly to our kitchen area. Our setting is an open room with dining area, kitchen and living room in one great room. This sections off the kitchen nicely. Pros: looks good, color good Cons: The divider wall attachment bar was broken off of the panel when we unpacked the box-this was difficult to understand as the box was very well packed with Styrofoam. Our only assumption was it was broken when it was put into the box. We fixed this with wood glue and clamps. When we were able to continue assembly, 24 hrs. later, we found the cam system used to be worthless. The cams shift position, some were stripped; made assembly quite challenging. Now that it's together it looks great! However, for the price we paid I expected better quality for the assembly process.

Nice and sturdy kitchen island to add some extra counter and storage space. However, I did need to use a drill to fix some of the screw holes for the handles, and one bolt was not aligned correctly and could not be inserted.
