Initially when unpacking the box you realise you have to build it and fit the canopy into the poles etc. It was a bit fiddly, but easily completed with 2 people, once built it was quickly erected. It's a fab canopy providing much needed shade to my office window without any permanent drilling etc. We have left it up for the last 4 weeks and just detach it slightly and roll it back up under the soffits when not needed.

Bought this awning a week ago, very happy with the quality of the product for the price. Delivered in three working days directly from the importer, but sold through Robert Dyas. Full credit to both. Installed on my balcony in about 45 minutes... two person job as you need an extra pair of hands to hold one side, would be tricky (but not impossible) alone. You only need a small crosshead screwdriver and pair of pliers or adjustable spanner as there are four screw to put in and a couple of nuts/bolts to tighten, otherwise tool-free. All components well-made with no defects. I mainly bought this to keep my flat cool in summer as it gets the sun directly and becomes very hot. It was warm and sunny yesterday and the awning kept the sun off, absolutely perfect! Also, the balcony is now more usable for sitting, I'm not one for hot, direct sunlight. Looks good too, and definitely looks more expensive than it is. I bought the 2.5m version as my balcony is exactly 250cm between the two side balustrades, and this fitted perfectly (it's about 1cm narrower, so spot-on)... you can't reduce the width so make sure you have enough space. Height-wise it's adjustable and works well. You can also easily adjust the angle it projects outwards, raising or lowering the side arms. The fabric seems pretty durable and the colour works for me (it's more brown than grey... the photos on the website show it being grey, it's definitely brownish, but I like it). There is a generous amount of fabric so I can extend it all the way down to the balustrade to keep my flat cool.

Cute Awning

I love this awning! It is a wonderful addition to my Mom's little cottage. It provides shade for her and her plants on the porch during the summer. It also does quite well with the rain. We do roll it up if there's wind as not to take any chances. I have had no problem with the framing or operation of the awning. I am disappointed in the material cover used at the time it was made. It has lasted 2 years. I don't believe there was any protective coating. Also the material awning cannot be replaced. I am ordering another to replace this one because we loved it so much. I just feel it's a bit of a waste of perfectly good of the awning frame. I will be treating the new one!!
