[Rewarded Review] Not as good as my last one

I bought a manual processor to replace my previous oxo and was seriously disappointed, it was too large for our needs, so I ordered a new oxo because we knew we liked it. The new oxo cuts as well as the old one and the size is great, and we got a great price. The problem with this one is the suction base does not work at all to hold it like the old one. Still good, just not great.

[Rewarded Review] Disappointed

The food processor does not stay put on the counter for more than a second or two....and it is very difficult to use and requires a lot of strength to get it to chop the foods I want to chop. I'm not chopping anything hard, just onions, and softer vegetables, and yet it struggles and I have to use a LOT of strength and muscle to get it to turn. This is made especially difficult because the suction cup on the bottom simply does not adhere it to any surface for more than a few seconds. Not what I would expect from OXO.

[Rewarded Review] Great

Hello - thank you for asking. I am planning to give this as a gift. I have one very much like this one that I got at the Iowa State Fair and I "love" it. I am certain that this one will be just as great.

It could have been a contender!

I have been on a quest to replace a manual chopper I bought from Tupperware about 10 years ago. A friend "borrowed" it and I've been looking for the perfect manual chopper ever since. The newest Tupperware chopper is awful. This one from Oxo is my FIFTH purchase and it is, unfortunately, just OK. Pluses: It seems well built and I expect will last for a while. I can chop herbs with ease -- even cilantro, which sometimes can get clogged due to a longer stem. For rapidly chopping a big bunch of herbs, it's very good. But if you want to mince something (e.g. garlic), it's a terrible choice. The bottom blade does not come close enough to the bottom of the tub, which means you are left with huge chunks that do not get finely minced no matter how much you turn. Also, a crank is never going to function as well as a pull-string when it comes to getting those blades whirring quickly. The faster the blade spin, the less likely you are to maul your veggies. All in all: it's good for some functions like a rough chop or mincing a big pile of herbs. But if you want to mince something solid like garlic or onion, this is not the right choice.

Disappointed

We were quite pleased with the looks, apparent quality and finish of the chopper compared to a cheaper, almost identical chopper that wore out. Unfortunately we are very disappointed in how it actually chops. The cutting blades seem somewhat higher than the old one and cuts hard. We are still getting used to it---any suggestions?? Carl

Great One Stop Chopper

Great product for small chopping jobs. Easy to use, easy to clean. Compact storage for my small kitchen. Only downside is need to "prechop" things a little into smaller manageable pieces for the small unit.

Love the Company and the chopper

I bought a chopper using Amazon. I've owned two now and this one worked for awhile but then the gears stripped. Oxo company replaced it with no hassle, and now I'm back on my game, making salsa for everyone. Thanks Oxo.

Gears stripped mincing sliced carrots

I'm afraid it broke (gears stripped) after 3 uses. Apparently mincing (pre-sliced) carrots was too much for it. The gears slipped and stripped. I have no opened the gear box to verify this, but by the sound of things it's well and truly done.

Make Meals Special with Minced

The is one of my favorite kitchen gadgets! It's great for chopping veggies and fruits! I like using it to stock my fridge with minced ginger & jalapeños, walnut / spinach pesto, almond meal, and hummus. Guacamole, peanut sauce, salsa, and finely chopped onions celery and garlic quick and fresh!! Yummy! Great for left handed geniuses and the suction easily attaches from the countertop. It's lightweight and easy to clean. Love it.

mediocre

way over priced for the plastic thing that it is, still slips despite the grip feature, and requires a lot of hand power. But it's small, so if you don't have a lot of cupboard space this will do. The plastic immediately stained after chopping carrots.

Nice and sturdy. Holds a decent amount. I like the silicone grip that makes cleaning easier doesnt fall off since it clips on other people had issues with theirs coming off no idea if older models didnt clip. The majority of times its a clean cut when chopping but not always. Certain items need a fair bit of pressure.I dont regret my purchase but its not perfect. It does save time though when Im chopping a big amount. But for the odd onion Id rather do it by hand.

Quick Easy Great for Every Day

Easy to use, easy to clean, blades are very sharp. I've bought many electric food choppers that were lousy, and this one is a dream in the kitchen. Quick work for hard boiled eggs, onions, celery, etc. Doesn't work well on very soft cheeses, but hard, cold cheddar or Swiss was fine. I prefer electric chopper for cheeses.

Oxo One Stop Chop Manual Food Processor

I find that this wont even chop an onion very well. It squashes it flat rather than pushing it through the metal grid which is probably not sharp enough. Then its hard to clean

Love this. I wanted a simple chopping device and this OXO one is great. Ive got arthritic hands and fingers and as long as you are sensible about slicing veg you will have no probs using this. Have done all the usual soup veg which can be tipped directly into bowl or pot as well as apples, pears, persimmons, tomatoes etc., Im plant based vegetarian and honestly this chopper has made a huge difference to my days. Highly recommended..

I dont usually write reviews, but seeing some who said it was rubbish I felt I should give my opinion. I have had mine for almost a year, we follow slimming world so there is always some vegetable that needs chopping or dicing I get lazy and tend to chuck most things through this. it literally does everything I throw at it, mushrooms, carrots, celery, onions, even some small potatoes very small new potatoes the first time I used it I stupidly cut through the purple bit on the lid, but it still works fine without. Once everything has been cut I rinse it through and then chuck it on the top shelf of the dishwasher This is used daily in our home, sometimes twice a day

I purchased this item because I have arthritis in my hands and this would make chopping vegetables easier. However, I find I am unable to detach the container from the blades to wash as the mechanism Is too stiff for my fingers. So although it is a useful gadget, I am unable to clean it properly. I will probably pass it on to someone else.

To begin with, I was absolutely thrilled with this product, but disappointed subsequently when the clear plastic bin, into which the chopped vegetables fall, began to crack. Ive now had two of these products develop the same fault, so have contacted customer services who have promised to replace them. Lets hope it was a faulty batch because we all enjoy the speed with which veg can be prepared using this gadget. You do have to use some force to bring the lid down upon the veg, but as Im not built like Arnold Schwarzenegger, I dont think Ive been over doing it.
