Beautiful but ultimately not sturdy the wood splits easily, screw-based construction pulls apart, and factory nails in cross members follow. Requires constant attention for screws and ultimately falls apart in 6-9 months. We ultimately replaced with TON Ironica chairs.
These look and feel great at first but after only using them for a couple of months they are already coming apart. And I can’t say particularly we’re using them very often. This is the second chair this has happened to what you see in the picture. No idea why but I do know it shouldn’t. Quite disappointing actually
The chair is beautiful and functional. It is light weight yet sturdy. The color is a matte off white. The assembly was easy and smooth. However, on one of the chairs, there is a chip in the paint on the top front edge of the seat. I have to use a seat cushion on it.
We ordered 6 of these chairs 3 years ago. We currently only have 2 remaining that havent broke. For reference we are not an overweight family or hard on the gear, the connections loosen up easily and we have had to tighten them so many times that the screw heads are now stripped and then the chairs fall apart.
Beautiful, quality chairs. After the first one was assembled, it was easy and quick. One chair back has a minor flaw on one edge, where the wood isn’t smooth, but it is fully covered with paint and not noticeable unless we touch that spot. Overall, I’m quite satisfied.
We’ve had these chairs for over a year, and unfortunately the quality and sturdiness isn’t very good. We’ve already had one chair break completely when being sat on by an adult, and others have started to fall apart and needed gluing/tightening multiple times. The look is nice, but I would not recommend if you want them to last more than a few years.
Love these chairs! Perfect height. Perfect height. Perfect contrast with my table. Perfectly comfortable. And I was able to assemble them all myself—no small feat for an old lady!
The chairs themselves are beautiful and exactly as pictured. My concern is durability. We already have several areas of paint chipping off after only a weekend of regular use. Also the plug that hides the screws have popped out of every chair. Not the best chairs, but for the price, we will deal.
These chairs arrived in Safavieh boxes. Birch Lane makes it appear as if they are another brand, which seems misleading to me. They look nice but are not very sturdy. They also have a Proposition 65 warning label, meaning they are not non-toxic.
The chairs look nice. But... the seat is very, very short and I'm only 5'3". One chair tilts downward so that you feel that you're just going to slide off. Two of the round bits that hide the screws broke when I put them in, so the screws show. If given the choice I would not buy these again.
Love these chairs! I put them with a weathered grey table and it is perfect. A couple chairs out 34 have a wobble but that could be our assembly. I will probably buy some more for this large group home dining area. Wayfair's delivery and customer service is excellent too!
Look good, no flaws in the paint, well packaged. My only complaints would be the depth of the seat (two inches shorter than my old chairs), which makes me feel like I’m sliding off of the chair and the caps that fill in the screw holes for the legs won’t stay in place. I don’t want to glue them in, in case we ever need to tighten the screws.
I ordered these chairs a year ago and have been highly disappointed. First off, when I go to wipe them off with just a soft rag and water, black from the paint also comes up. One spindle has broken and the rest have come very loose. For the price, the paint should definitely not be lifting!! And the chairs should be much more sturdy!
Not Sturdy
These chairs look so beautiful in my home but they did not last. I got four for a cute circle table. Two of them are now broken on the back where people rest (only one and a half years later). And the other wobbles from side to side. I have one chair that is still all together. We are not overweight people either. I'm looking for new chairs and I'm frustrated. Not getting this brand again.
Super disappointed in this product. Not durable at all. Someone who weighed less than 120lbs sat on it and it split underneath her, harming my friend..even though the weight restriction is 200lbs or less. Upon contacting wayfair for a replacement, they refused to do so as it was past the return time frame. Quite disappointed in wayfairs ability to keep there customers to be honest. Might as well spend the extra money and buy some that’ll last and stand behind there brand
I ordered these chairs about 1.5 years ago and upon first assembly they looked great. After a few weeks the parts started to jiggle around and the chairs felt unstable to sit on. So we took them apart and reinforced all of pieces with wood glue. That lasted a few more months and slowly but surely all the chairs have started falling apart. We ordered 6 and are down to 3 that are barely holding together. Overall very disappointed with these.
the first one lost its bacj in just a few months. we thought wood glue would solve our problem. at month 13, 4/4 chairs have been repaired at least once, many twice. We only have two adults in the household and we’re not rough on these by any means. Some paint chipping but honestly that’s nothing compared to the fact that they’re literally structurally unsound and I can seat guests on them. So now I’m out $500 after literally a year of use. They went so well with the decor too
Not sturdy at all and falling apart within a few months!! I purchased 8 of these chairs 5 months ago. They are cute chairs and looked great after we put them together. Within days I noticed scratch marks and paint chipping. Now 5 months later, two of the chairs have fallen apart. The back completely popped off! We have used gorilla glue twice to try to save the chair but within a week we have to repeat the glue. Eventually we will just have to trash it since it's not safe. I have noticed the backs of the other chairs starting to feel lose so I'm sure they will also fall apart soon. I am so disappointed! After spending $800 on chairs I would not think I would be needing to find replacements for them 5 months later!
These are very nice looking chairs, but that’s it. They will hold an average size person alright. I wouldn’t think a very tall or heavy person would not feel comfortable in them. One came broken, so I realized the spindles are flimsy enough to break easily, but Wayfair was quick to replace. The seat is quite small and slippery. The black paint definitely scrapes off too easy, and we’ve only had them for 2 months. Some were wobbly after putting together, but thankfully my husband was able to tweak them a bit to fix that. I am sure I will need to replace these in the near future, but for some inexpensive chairs that look nice they will do for now.
These are some really nice, really comfortable chairs. Easy to assemble and the directions were easy to read and understand. They arrived within the given time.NOW there is one thing I would (and did) change. According to the directions the chair should be assembled as the chair on the left in the first picture. That is immensely uncomfortable and throws you forward. You constantly feel as if you’re sliding out of it. So my husband assembled them as the chair to the right in the first picture. Far more comfortable and sits like a chair should sit. Not sure if we got strange directions, or if that’s how the manufacturer wanted them to sit. But definitely go with our change if you don’t want to slide out at the dinner table!*The wooden “dots” should go in the back if you want to do them like us. the front according to the directions.
