Don't waste your money on this junk
This piece looks nice in the pics but it is cheap. It's made with pressboard and the hardware used to connect the pieces together is very flimsy. I was putting this thing together and realized how poorly it was made and decided to return it and look for something better. I do not recommend.
Delicate
This is not fine furniture - it is thin plywood with pressboard and while it may look solid, it doesn’t hold together well. We ordered two - one split while we were moving it. Returning the other because of the delicate nature of its construction and for aesthetics. We have a problem with the mahogany color that looks so rish and fine online. It doesn’t look that way no matter what light we shine on it - instead it is brown. Just a stained darker shade with no reddish tint whatsoever.
Poor quality
I thought that this would be better quality given it was one of the more expensive choices. Wrong! The pressed board damages easily, the smell is horrible and the dryer front was damaged and I had to try gluing it back together. If you want this quality, go with something cheaper
Perfect fit
This cabinet was just what I was looking for. The color and the size were just right for a limited space. High end furniture stores did not have anything this size with doors. Love it. It takes two people to put it together in about 5 hours (we reinforced it with glue).
Beautiful cabinet!
Beautiful cabinet and very sturdy! Very spacious. Much thicker than most. Time consuming to assemble but worth it. We had a problem with the drawer but we contacted Crosley and they sent new parts quickly, and that corrected the issue. Very happy with it, so much that i have been looking at other Crosley Furniture to purchase.
Deep shelves and lots of space
We love the cabinet, and it holds tons of stuff. We bought the white one and have no problem with smell. Slight "varnish" smell when we opened it but the smell went out with the Styrofoam packing and the box. The cabinet was easy to put together and the directions were very good. All the parts counted and in blistered packs. No parts missing or damaged. Love the cabinet!
Assemble with a buddy
This is a great product. The packaging was excellent but FYI it’s very heavy. There are many many pieces to assemble but the instructions are quite clear. I wouldn’t want to build this alone. You build this on its back then lift it up. Moving it once it’s up is easy because it has plastic feet.
5 Stars
High quality product. It took a while to assemble and the cabinet has a chemical smell for a while but it eventually went away. The exterior it made of good quality. Only complaint would be the middle drawer bottom used to slide out, but my husband shimmed it so it wouldn't slide so now it's great. I do love the middle drawer function. Surprisingly, it store a good bit of groceries and serves as our pantry in our second small kitchen. We keep our canned items in the bottom part of the cabinet and has not had any issues with sagging. Great product.
Nice Panty Storage Unit
I purchased this to add additional storage for my kitchen until I can fully remodel down the road. It provides ample room for easy access crock pots, storage containers, plates and coffee storage. The natural wood finish is very nice. I had an issue with a panel that had a slight blemish, but I contacted customer service and it was extremely quick and very pleased.
Decent quality overall
Overall this was a good purchase. It seems mostly well made with largely solid wood (though maybe 30% or so of the pieces are MDF, which has a very strong odor), which held up well during transport in spite of UPS beating up the box. It was relatively easy to assemble. My only complaints are that one of the bolt receiver nuts was stripped (which I was able to rethread, but most people wouldn't be able to do this) and also the strong off gassing smell of the MDF components.
Barely Satisfactory
It was either buy this one or spend $** on a good unit from a furniture store. This pantry is very heavy and now that its assembled and filled it's a little bit wobbly/shaky. The pin holes on the doors of our unit were not lined up so the top set of doors or skewed. The draw was slightly narrower than the draw rails so we had to jury rig the draw so that it opened and closed. I doubt we'll keep this for long. If you can save up for a good unit from a furniture store I'd recommend doing that.
WARNING: THIS ITEM MIGHT CONTAIN LEAD
I didn't realize that the unit contains lead until after it was assembled and I read the warning label on the back of it. I had not seen that in the information online. I'm not certain which parts contain the lead, if it is the paint or the screws. Also, the product doesn't have much real wood in it. A few parts are wood, but most are press board. The product description made me think it was mostly all hard wood. Simply not the case. It has a very strong odor from the press board and posibly paint.
Terrible quality Control
While the Parsons Pantry in Mahogany looks well made and beautiful in the online photo, imagine my dismay when it arrived with several scuffs, chips, and even a trim piece that was apparently too short so another piece was just stuck on without even using filler on the gap. It was apparent that none of this damage took place from being in transit (although the box was sure flimsy for such a heavy cargo load --but the styrofoam protection inside was adequate). The damage was obviously there when the pantry was packed for shipping. Because it is 133 pounds, I did not want to deal with having to repackage it, and pay to ship it back, so I purchased some scratch cover markers and despite being irritated at having to do so, worked on matching the stain in order to cover the at least 5 chips and mars. The pantry also, on day four after being opened is still outgassing to a degree that I've had to leave my kitchen door cracked open so that fresh air can come in 14/7. Naturally this has prohibited me from using the pantry (as it will be a baking cupboard holding baking staples). It will likely be several more days or longer until the fumes will not permeate anything/everything placed inside of it. Basically, other than the fumes of something that had been freshly stained indicating that it was new, this Parsons Pantry arrived looking like it was purchased at a used furniture consignment store. Really disappointing for something that cost over *** dollars.
Recommendation? Emphatic NO!
I've decided to revise my review to One star--poor. I hired a smart kid who was good with tools to assemble the pantry. Color is fine, and there were no shipping issues . 1) Initially i noted a missing piece (Part R) . I called customer service # and the piece is on its way. Thus a 2 star rating. 2) After assembly was finished, I noted the curious wood on the rail above the top doors (Part F?). Varnish finish was on 3 sides, but the 4th, UNVARNISHED, was facing out. I decided to take the nearly assembled pantry apart out/off and just flip it over, showing the finished side facing out. Not to be done: The holes didn't matchup. My solution will be to varnish the rail and hope it's not too noticeable. 3) The kicker for the poor rating? We finished the assembly and when the drawer closed there is a 1/2"gap on both sides and all across the bottom. While usable, this shouldn't happen on a $*** item. Further, when Part R arrives, in looking at the picture for step 3, R is shown to be screwed down into an edge? shelf? (Part S). In looking at the picture it appears complete disassembly is necessary so the screws can be driven into Part S. Disassembly is impractical, return shipment unavailable-no box or styrofoam. I'd add pictures, but can't get them from the phone to the computer. Customer service, please forward this to the manufacturer for response/comment.
Nice when assembled
I was concerned when UPS left the product in my driveway instead of a the front door & I saw that the shipping box was flimsy and there was torn places on the box. Dented in places on the box. AND it looked like the box had been retaped in places. I mean, the box looked bad! When I opened it, I found that the item had styrofoam between it and the outside box that helped. Some of the styrofoam pieces were busted inside the box, but thankfully, none of the Pantry pieces were damaged. It took me, with a little help from my wife to hold some pieces in place while I attached them to other pieces, 3.5 hours to assemble. Once assembled, I was pleased with the purchase and the look of it. I am indeed using it as a pantry. So, for the money, I think it a good purchase.
yes there was a varnish smell but it was not so bad, if you got close you can smell it. Do I love it, YES. Deep shelves, sturdy. the only problem I had was the drawer would not connect to the tracks because the drawer was a tad bit short or I should say narrow. I had my cabinet put together by the service offered by Handy which you can add it to your car when you are checking out. the guy was so wonderful that he took his own time to add a tiny piece of wood to the side of the drawer and then the track fit perfectly. I would say if you are going to buy this cabinet pay the extra money to have a professional assemble it, I'm glad I did. Took many hour due to the drawer defect.
Really pleased with the Look and tons of Space
Fast shipping, excellent design, solid with heavy wood. Liked the way back was done with "H" Frame to give solid back look.. No wasted space, usefull and great looking. Called Crosley Support about buying extra shelf and Hinge Pins (It came with 4 extra), It's a major wear spot, will likely never need replacing, but just in case we like to be ready. The Support Person was very nice, helpful. shipping and all less then $**. Wife and I super Happy Parsons Pantry. Assembly Instructions and Parts Labeling fantastic, make sure to follow step by step as some parts will not go if hop around
Nice Pantry
Love love love this pantry! Came well-packaged, no damage or missing parts. Being in the middle of home improvement stuff and donation of current dining room furniture, I had no room for this. I read the reviews about the off-gassing odor, and yes, it did have that. I opened the package and staged the pieces in my garage for about a month. By the time I brought it in the house to assemble, the odor was pretty much dissipated. I put it together by myself in about 6 hrs, just needing help to stand it up. It's really a nice piece of furniture, went together easily and looks beautiful in my dining room. Lots of storage space. I bought hardware to match my kitchen cabinets, looks great. I would definitely recommend this pantry. Air it out first, and follow the easy instructions and you will be pleased. Good price, too.
Beautiful Cabinet
We love the cabinet. It is beautiful. The packaging was better than the first one we ordered. There was still damage so we swapped some pieces from the first one and used them on the 2nd one. The only reason I gave it a 4 was because of packaging. Customer service was excellent. I sent pictures and we had a replacement in 2 days. I would highly recommend this cabinet. Just look closely when you receive it to make sure there is no damage.
The cabinet looks very nice with plenty of storage. ...
The cabinet looks very nice with plenty of storage. I have a small kitchen and it was the size I needed.... Good price but I wish it came put together.. The installation instructions were not easy to follow... Some of the steps were not clear and caused us to take the unit apart and start over two times. The drawer slides were not good at all (very cheaply made)... ball bearings fell out. Complained and replacement sides for the drawer was sent out. The replacement ball bearings in the slide fell out again. Had to go to Home Depot and buy new better made slides... Drawer was not lining up and it is hard to open and close.. Had to pay someone to help us install the slides and put the drawers together . It does have a very strong chemical smell. A month later still smells.... Would not recommend ... You get what you pay for....
