I ordered a Pellet Joe the week before labor day, and it just arrived today! Shipping took a tad longer than I originally expected, but a grill on a pallet isn't the sort of thing a delivery driver can tuck under their arm and run up your yard with, I completely understand and agree with employing a 'real' trucking company doing this job.

I do not own any Kamado Joe products. I would like to own a Kamado cooker. I have drum, bullet, and offset smokers. I also own charcoal grills and a firecraft grill. I would love to review a kamado cooker if I win.

Anyone even mildly into smoking has either bought or toyed with the idea of buying a pellet smoker, however where this wins is that unlike a traditional barrel smoker, this has the ceramic insulation, aka, way less pellet consumption and infinitely better temp retention.

Great until it’s not

I’ve had this grill for 8months and 42 grills. Worked ok in the beginning but now it won’t heat up the computer or the igniter unit need to be replaced. We spent a lot of money and customer services takes 5days to respond it’s been 3days without being able to cook.

Perfect smoker

I’ve only had it a month but everything about this smoker is great. Love being able to monitor the cooking process on my phone when I’m not home.

Weekday Workhorse

This has become my "weekday workhorse", easy to fire up and crushes some amazing meals. Not just for smoking, but grilling up burgers the even baking! Cooked everything from beef tongue to banana bread and everything in between! Keeps temp and puts out a clean smoke. Monitor from the couch or bed!

Weak Customer Support and Average Smoker

The smoker worked fairly well at first, but soon developed issues. I’ve had the fan replaced under warranty. Then the flimsy grease deflector warped so badly that it caused a fire risk and affects the ability of the smoker to regulate temperature. I’m sure a new grease deflector would fix the issue, but I’ve been waiting for over a year for the part. Customer service agreed to replace it, but won’t or can’t send the part. Go elsewhere for a pellet smoker that the manufacturer can stand behind. I had a much better experience with the Green Mountain I owned previously.

Great pellet grill

I have been using the pellet joe for about 6 months now. Kamado Joe was kind enough to send me one in exchange for my hknest review. I am very pleased with how well it holds temperature. It will get very hot to sear as well as hold low temps for bbq. The app works great and is very easy to use. It was very easy-to-use connect to my home wifi.

This is a great grill for those none pro-consumers who just want quality home grilled and smoked meats without all the extra effort of burning hardwood charcoal and wood chunks. The flavor is incredible and the consistency is spot on. So easy to use and great for everyday use!

Warped deflector plate after just one searing

I purchased this Pellet Joe last month on sale for $888 from BBQ Galore and was initially happy with my purchase. Within the 2nd grilling where I attempted to sear a steak, the deflector plate (which also directs grease to the bucket) warped and now grease spills inside the grill which is a fire hazard and would make a mess. After contacting customer support and some back and forth providing photos of the warping, I was informed on 5JAN2024 the deflector would be replaced under the warranty, but the part is on back order and after 20 days, still haven’t heard back from customer support. I’m worried the auger might have issues based on other reviews, but haven’t been able to use it due to this warped deflector.

Great Grill - Lots of Features - App is glitchy so far

I am reviewing this after having it for two weeks. Let me first say that the grill itself is fantastic. The flavor from the pellets is amazing whether smoking or searing. The part that has me disappointed is that the app is glitchy.
