Fun, Energetic Wallpaper for a Furniture Makeover!

I used a roll of Jane Dixon Citrus Sweet Peel & Stick to give a drab IKEA unit a cheery makeover, and I love how it turned out! In the past, I've updated pieces of furniture with a coat of paint. This time, though, I already had painted our basement play/exercise room walls in a citrusy color scheme, and I wanted something with a pattern to complement them. This wallpaper was a great choice for the job! Although I was nervous that the surface of my IKEA unit would be too slick to hold the adhesive, the wallpaper stuck on just fine. I used one big, continuous piece to cover the sides and top, then cut smaller pieces to cover the front trim of each cubby. For the top trim, I carefully matched the pattern for the best visual effect, then used smaller pieces and scraps for the lower edge and inside. I love how it turned out, and how the colors of the wallpaper turned out to be such a great match for the bins I already owned for the IKEA unit. It should be easy to wipe clean, and it adds some welcome brightness to our gloomy Michigan winter! {Disclaimer: I received one free roll of wallpaper in exchange for my honest review.
