Perfect for law students
This is an outstanding product. It takes up almost no room in your bag and is capable of holding up any casebook. Time will tell on its durability, but my friend has had one for 2.5 years now that’s still in excellent shape. If you’re a law or medical student even, I can’t imagine a better use of $10-12.
This does not meet my needs.
This may be fine for holding a recipe open, but it does not have the design or the strength to keep a one-pound paperback open. I wish it did.
Great little “book” holder - also for my laptops
A co-worker had this and said he used it often for travel with his laptop. This holds my laptop (fully open ~180 degrees). It positions the laptop screen at the right height for viewing and I have an external keyboard that I use with it. I also have 2 large books that I plan to use it for while I take notes. This holder folds up flat which is great for travel and storing when not in use.
Lifechanging for Students!
This unassuming thin, light plastic seemingly flimsy book stand has changed my life. It allows my textbooks to sit upright as I glance across to read my 500-1200page law textbooks. No more hunching over to peer horizontally, no more blowing about in the wind when I want to study in the sunshine. It's best for the 500page textbooks, but still holds up my 1200page ones - I don't mind the pegs not covering one side. And it travels well - flipping flat and light for travel to/from law school (as long as one is careful with it). It has been invaluable.
Nice to Have
It works well with smaller, lighter books. Very convenient and adjustable. It does not work for larger books, say perhaps 500+ pages, maybe even less. Otherwise, I'm very pleased with this item.
Great for reading heavy textbooks!
I purchased this product because I needed to read my university textbooks without breaking my neck!
Excellent for the price
If you're planning on using this for a few pages or a normal-sized book, it's a 5 star. I need it to work for heavy 3-ring binders, and I'm hoping it will last under those heavier loads. I was unable to find one made of metal. For so few bucks, it's worth a try!
Cook book stand
I was tired of my cook book sitting on the counter and didn't want a big decorative cook book easel. Fits my 2" deep book. Would have loved for it to be deeper so I could put more then one book on it, but I'll just have to switch them out when needed. Easier to read recipe too. Came across this while looking at phone stands.
Really Helps My Neck
I wasn’t sure what to expect but with the great reviews and the low price I thought that I should try it. I was pleasantly surprised as it can prop up even the thickest of books, including my Bible! GREAT product as it has helped the pain in my neck. Glad I bought 3 of them. :)
Works perfectly as described.
Perfect for so many areas of need -- love that it can be snapped right into a 3-ring binder. Wish I had had it in graduate school! Making good use of it now, though, still reading while note-taking for personal uses. One of those is reading during solo meals while on covid sequestrations (pesky restraints).
This brilliant little device has brought back the reading habit in me. Books that were sleeping in the shelf for over 7 years are on this stand in front of me.
Useful & Sturdy
This book stand is very sturdy considering it is made of plastic and looks flimsy. It is non-slip and has two clips (plastic) at the bottom to stop your books from slipping. For me, it has a good reading angle and I'm overall very happy with it. The only reason I gave 4stars is because there was only one colour to choose from and it wasnt what I wanted, black.
Pretty good product for the price. It does what I need it to do. I was skeptical about whether or not it can hold heavier books, since my main reason for getting it was to help prop up my college textbooks while I am doing my assignments. After I tested it, it worked out fine and that was a huge relief. I really like how portable it is and how you can stick it in a binder to take with you anywhere.
Short but sturdy
I purchased this for holding my notes during video meetings. The photos I'd seen on multiple websites implied the holder was either square or portrait orientation, and the packaging does not list the dimensions. However, it is noticeably landscape, so an 8.5" x 11" piece of paper sticks up 1.5" beyond the top of the holder. This will work for reading, but not for writing. I do like that the angle is adjustable, though. So if you only need it for books and if they aren't super tall, this should work fine.
Great for studying.
As others have mentioned, the highest angle it stands at is approximately 70 degrees, but it's still adequate for holding and reading textbooks. It has two little adjustable clips on the both of each side to hold the pages flat. It’s capable of holding quite thick textbooks (~1000 pages).
Desktop Bookstand
I love my bookstand! I bought one just like it 9 years ago at Staples in Roanoke Rapids, NC but I lost it within the past few years. That store shut down 2-3 years ago. It is the same price as before. Thank you Staples for your great prices and quality products.
Does what I want with books and papers
I needed something to hold papers that I am copying to my computer and this works wonderfully to do so. It is able to be positioned almost completely upright to nearly horizontal. It has a couple of prongs on the bottom to help hold books open if you use them for reading. So glad I bought it.
I would buy this book stand again.
I read to a small group at this assisted living home. Having the easily movable stand enables me to read to the group without holding the book in my hand and not projecting my voice down at the table. They agree that I am easier to hear with this new position projecting my voice directly at them. Stand is easy to adjust, has a useful set of page holders and very sturdy. I LIKE IT.
Great for large textbooks
I've had this stand for over a year and although it doesn't stand at a 90 degree angle as the first reviewer noted, mine has never felt - or actually - fallen apart or felt flimsy at any point.
Flimsy, inflexible and falls apart
I feel this item is massively overpriced, considering:
