Returned!

Thought it was too yellow so returned it to the store.

It is not a blanket. It’s made of a material to upholster furniture. I ended up keeping to reupholster benches I had. Not sure if the price was right for the use however.

Perfect weight

Purchased for guest bedroom bed. Laundered well. fit was fine.

The blanket is soft and full. The color is as seen in the ad. I am very pleased.

Great blanket. Wash 4-5 times to preserve blanket.

I bought one of these several years back and it held up well. Summer came so I gave it a good washing and put it away until I would use it again. Had it in a completely sealed bag by itself. I pulled it out two years later because I had gotten a new blanket in between that I really liked and the Vellux blanket had completely falling apart. All the soft good part of the blanket that I loved and use for many years had just fallen off and fluffs. The whole blanket was a wreck. I checked into it and found out these blankets cannot go along without a wash. If you don't wash them at least 4-5 times of season they dry out and the soft Vellux material falls off over the whole blanket. I truly love these blankets but will absolutely wash them even if I haven't used them just to keep them in good shape. You do not want all that material going down your drain and causing problems. Also your lit catcher and you dry are getting completely clogged is a fire hazard. So watch when you wash and dry them to see if they held up because you don't need any other problems. My only worry about buying a new one is how long it's been laid up. If they would put a date it was made I would feel much more secure buying several of these blankets. I'll try one at a time and see how that holds up. So far the one I have has held up really well. Just keep them washed often in a preserves the blanket. For what it's worth the information I've given you has helped me to keep the blanket that I love the most. I truly was sad when the one I had fell apart and couldn't understand why it happened that's why I checked into it. And again you can't leave them set up without washing them. Best Purchase Over the Last 20 Years

I've been purchasing these vellux blankets for 20+ years. They're soft, comfortable, lightweight and very luxurious looking. When desired colors were not available, I've been known to change the entire color scheme in my bedroom.

Winter weight blanket

The blanket was exactly what I wanted!! A nice winter blanket.

Very soft, lightweight and comfy blanket

I like this blanket very much. It’s very soft and comfy and just right for cool summer nights. However, when my blanket was delivered, it had a very strong vinegary smell. I washed and dried the blanket three times before I used it, and a faint odor still remained. Today, I washed the blanket again, and it left that same sour odor in the washer and dryer. I then took the blanket outside hoping the odor would be gone. I hope this solves the problem because I really like this blanket, and I hope the odor isn’t caused by a dangerous chemical.

Fabric is terrible. Not plush at all

Feels lighter than the two versions I purchased a few years ago, but same wonderfully soft feel and great warmth for weight. Color was a good neutral beige and a nice compliment to the sheets. Comfy for the guest bedroom!

Sheds constantly with a synthetic fiber.

Not like my old Vellux blanket. I have washed this 3 times and low heat dryer and still getting a full lint trap of very fine synthetic material. I woke up with a sore throat even after the first and second washing.Poor quality thinner than my 6 year old same material blankets. I ordered a gray and a cream color ( cream is really YELLOW , I washed them a I always did with the old green ones. I wont use rhem.

Can't beat Original Vellux - nothing else close

Hard to find these Original Vellux blankets in nylon but they have been around a long time and are the best. Light weight but warm enough when needed so they work all year round without being too hot in summer.

horrible fuzz mess

Bought this blanket the end of oct and washed it before using and now today rewashed it to but it away for the summer and it's a fuzz mess. I've had these blankets before and have never had one like this. There's literally patches where the fuzz has come off. I don't dare dry in the dryer for fear of plugging up the dryer - so it's outside blowing in the fresh air today. What a mess it is and of course I can't return it either as no one stand behind things that don't hold up. Wish I had saved the bag it came in to return it .
