Very thin shag rug

I was looking for a thick shag rug but unfortunately this isn't it. Should've read the reviews about how thin the weave is. The rug is very light (in terms of weight) so before I even unpackaged it, something felt very off. Upon unpacking and unrolling, there are spots where I can see right through to the base of the rug. Terrible product and will be returned.

This was extremely POOR quality. It is so flat that it was laughable. I tried to fluff it up and it still looked like a very cheap rug. I know $* is not a ton of money but I expected better than that. Save your money -- do not be deceived by the picture on website. It is a very thin, very cheap looking rug. Will cost you $* to return.

Beautiful Quality Rugs

I love the quality and plushness of the Safavieh rugs. These were perfect! I ordered the white. They are white and feel great. I did not order the pad and they were slipping so some drawer liner I had left, I put under the rug and it took care of the sliding 2-1/2 ' x 6' runners were the size. They haven't shed at all. I have a Shorkie. He loves them too. I keep his paws wiped and don't wear shoes in my house. No problem so far with any dirty edges. They haven't matted, with daily use.(next to my bed) I would buy this brand and style again! Very quick delivery! Arrived earlier than expected!

Great accent for low traffic areas

I have the three feet round rug in white to ground a meditation area. The tufts have to be kneaded to get the 3" pile to attain a fluffy look. The backing grips a carpet beneath, reducing slippage, but a pad might add further cushioning. For versatility, it can be placed under a vanity or coffee table to enhance almost any style of decor. I recently purchased the bright white rug, which will want spot cleaning or shaking and airing outside. For durability underfoot, slippers or barefoot are practical. The fibers are soft and pliable, but to maintain a uniform texture, combing with a tool such as a plastic-toothed leaf rake revives it's appearance.

A unique touch of Zen

I'd looked for a round, soft rug for beneath my meditation cushion. Once the tufts are combed to a level weave, it fit the small corner and grounds the space, coordinating with a room in greys, blues, golds and white. A pad might make being seated more comfortable, but the underside grips well. It looks appropriately calming, and has no chemical odor out of the package. To change the rug to balance other areas such as a vanity or a coffee table increases its versatility, and it's suitably transitional. I do think it's meant for bare feet or slippers in order to tread lightly, thus maintaining its quality. Because mine is pure white and is a recent purchase, stains are likely. My plan is to spot clean with a baking soda and oxy based cleaner that's kind to fibers. Lifting loose debris should be easy, either by shaking it outside in fresh air or by gently using a tool such as a plastic leaf rake.

LOVE this rug!! It is so thick and fluffy! As you can see it serves as a enlarged pet bed. My dogs absolutely love it which makes me happy! We wanted something super soft to walk on since our entire house is tiled (upstairs and downstairs) I purchased the mushroom, which is mainly Grey with a small hint of brown. The picture online isn't the correct color but I am a review reader and found out the true color from other customer purchases so I knew this color would actually fit our style and theme. I love how shag rugs look and gives some texture! We will be purchasing this identical rug in white for our nursery!

The reviews mislead me

Unfortunately the reviews on overstock caused me to believe this rug was more than just frayed yarn stuck to a mat but really that's all it is. It's a rug yes, but it's a really poor quality one. I would say that it's worth about $40 max. I kind of expected more compared to other rugs I've purchased that are on the cheaper end. I can tell it will easily fall apart in just a couple months. I'm disappointed but I guess it was my bad for trusting online reviews. For some reason there are a lot raving about the quality of this rug. They are definitely being paid for positive comments. I only gave it 2 stars because shipping was quick and efficient and it was wrapped well. The actual product was awful though.

Beautiful Rug!

Beautiful Rug! I was hesitant to order a rug online that I hadn't seen in person prior to purchasing. I was very nervous, but decided to make the purchase after reading so many great reviews. I am SO glad that I took a risk on this rug, because it is absolutely beautiful in my bedroom. I purchased the white version in the 6'7" x 9'2" size, and it fits perfectly under a king size bed with room to stick out at the end for my bench. I don't believe this is a full-on "bright" white, but more of a soft off-white. It definitely isn't close to an ivory color, but isn't fully white. I will post a photo of the rug next to a "bright" white towel for reference, because I feel this is a question many people will have when deciding to make their purchase.

Nice for the Price but Questionable Quality.

I ordered the Silver version of this rug in 6'7" square size. It was delivered sooner than expected and packaged nicely. I love the color, it's what I expected and really ties the room together. The shag is deep, as described about the 3"! The shag is not dense and I find myself "fluffing" it often. It's very light weight for the size, and I find shaking it out is the best method for refreshing it. Highly recommend a non slip pad. As others described, it has a strong "new rug" smell I hope subsides quickly. I am concerned about the bonding on the edge of the rug as it is sloppily sewn and uneven. That is disappointing. I hope it doesn't fall apart. It's because of this flaw I gave it a 3 rating. Not a bad price!

Bright White Cozy Rug

I received my rug today and it's beautiful. I was so skeptical about the color because I recently purchased a "white" rug from Safavieh and it was more ivory. But this "white" rug was true white. I read so many reviews And looked at so many customer pictures to make sure it was true white because that was my main concern. As far as texture, it's genuinely soft. the only thing I would add is a rug pad for a bit more cushion but it's not terrible without it. I will Have it in my bedroom so I just Want it as cozy as possible. I added A picture below next to a true white and black painting so you can see the true white color. I believe That these customer pictures don't do the rug justice because it appears more luxurious in person than in photos.

Oh, this rug! Oh how I love this rug - so much. It is gorgeous. I always received compliments on it. It is also very durable. Not only that, it's extremely soft. It feels so good on your feet! We accidentally spilt red wine on it and you couldn't even tell. It cleaned up so nicely. We do have a 95 pound golden doodle that would go outside, roll around in the dirt and then come in the house and roll around on the carpet. We called several places to come and clean it but because it was shag carpet so they were not able to. They worried it wouldn't dry. We ended up having to get another rug. But if you put this in a formal area with very little traffic - especially from animals, I would highly recommend it. It was a sad day when I had to get rid of it. I will definitely buy it again one day.

Stunning!

I hesitated for over a year thinking I was really taking a chance on purchasing a shag rug online. You know, will it be soft or rough, quality unseen, etc. After researching and reading all the reviews, I decided to take a chance. SO GLAD I DID!! Watching the video was helpful because it truly demonstrated the soft texture. The texture of this shag is silky and the silvery tones vary from medium silver to light silver depending on the nap. This accent rug was over-laid on sand colored wall to wall carpeting, in order to define my living room area. I did not order the non-slip underlay because furniture holds the rug in place. There is NO odor, as many reviews have mentioned on shags. My dog & cat also love the rug and so do my feet-SO soft! I have a traditional, slip covered style couch and tho the shag is often described as contemporary, I can tell you how classy it looks! I was also pleased that it arrived TWO days before scheduled!! <- This was my initial review shortly after purchase, however, now I must add that after the first year's use, wherever feet repeatedly landed, (i.e. where you would sit on couch &/or chair) this rug matted and there was no coming back. Those areas look awful ow, tacky. We also had to purchase a low-volume, no beater vacuum so we could keep it clean. Can't take away it's softness and initial look, however, you will need to purchase something else if you want that 'look' to last. Also, if anyone has a technique I don't know about please say so. So disappointed....

I received the Safavieh polar shag white fluffy silken rug today. For starters, I am very pleased with the rug overall. I agree with some reviewers about the smell. It does have a light chemical smell, but based on the instructions, it is due to the wolven fibers and will dissipate in a couple of days. I have had no issues with the curling of the ends of the rug once I unrolled the rug from packaging. It is white and very fluffy which was the look I was going for. Yes, I agree with some reviewers that the bottom layer is thin, but you really can't tell unless you do a thorough inspection. My children already love it and continue saying how soft and cuddly the rug is. It serves it's purpose, I got it for a discount and it goes well in our living room. My only gripe would be there were premise holes in the plastic of the packaging. Some of the fibers were sticking out of the holes and got dirty in transit. It does not come in a box...only in plastic. So I had to clean 2 very small parts of the rug which I feel I shouldn't have had to do if the rug was packaged correctly. All in all, I am still glad I made the purchase!
