Poor quality. Doesn't work. Don't buy.
The roller does not spin which defeats the purpose of the vacuum... it spreads around the dirt and has terrible suction. I've tried to take out the roller and clean it but im still having trouble. tried to lightly manually spin it to see if it's even able to spin anymore and it doesn't lol. Complete waste of $100😀
I would not biy tgis product again
Quality is not what Expected
A good vacuum - recommend treating it gently
This is a good little vacuum that works nicely, and the fact that the roller bar pops out is invaluable for keeping it maintained. My older dirt devil brand vacuum is still going as my backup vacuum after 6 years, while a fancy Ryobi was born, had to be repaired, and died all within a 2-year window during that time. My only critiques and tips on this vacuum are: I almost returned it because I thought it was defective with the wire stuffing mechanism. But after watching Youtube videos, it just is that way, and you have to just stuff it and man-handle it and it's fine. And you only do that one time for the first assembly. Secondly, it's overall made of a delicate sort of chintzy plastic. It may be prone to chips breaking off, if you're not gentle with it. And lastly, the vacuum head doesn't have an adjuster pedal, so it gets stuck in either the floor position or the "up" position, rather than just being flexible-- you have to press the whole head down with your foot while vacuuming, pretty frequently. But it has great suction action and is easily maintainable. Cleaning it off thoroughly after each use and being gentle, I think it should last a long time.
One major flaw in an otherwise great product
I love this vacuum for a number of reasons - it's light, and it does a really great job for our needs. We've had ours for several years with zero complaints, until now. The battery no longer charges, so I went to the Dirt Devil website to order a replacement. To my surprise, replacement batteries ARE NOT AVAILABLE. That means that when the battery dies, the entire vacuum goes into the landfill. There are no instructions on how to remove the battery so it can be properly disposed of - nope, the whole thing is trash. I'll never again buy a cordless vacuum from Dirt Devil.
No
Works good for quick clean up. Battery doesn't last long enough "15 min on a full charge" if lucky. Picks up short pet hair great but anything larger than that it won't or if it does it gets stuck inside the vacuum & won't pick up anything until taken apart & cleaned thoroughly. If they came out with a more powerful model like 2 or 3 times more powerful it would be fantastic! This model unfortunately doesn't have enough power for anything more than short pet hair...
Love it
Well iam on my fourth one is because, I have a problem of getting the end of my area rug stuck in it the corners .and the motor gets froze I guess . And the reason I keep buying this product is because it does a great job picking up especially if you have animals that shed . I don't have any animals that shed anymore . But I love the suction it has. So just watch your area rugs and you'll just love it.The best I ever had .
ONLY GOOD AS A LARGE HANDHELD VACUUM
I received this as a gift from my sister after our vacuum died after 15 years of use.
Dirt Devil Power Swerve Pet Stick Vacuum
I purchased this Dirt Devil Power Swerve Pet Stick Vacuum because of my good previous experience with a Dirt Devil Stick Vacuum. I'm very happy with this new product. It has very good suction, can be used in tight, hard to get at places, and has a brush that picks up dirt, etc. in cracks between floor tiles. It is light to handle. It gets up close to baseboards. Besides it is operated on a battery so you don't have to keep changing where it is plugged in to reach all places. Very happy with it. And happy for chance to enter the sweepstakes.
great light weight vacuum
The cordless Swerve is a great light weight vacuum. Mine has been used daily for over two years for around 5 minutes or so each day and it still works great. The battery seems to be in good shape; it still charges and runs well. The design is lightweight and allows for easy maneuvering around and getting under objects. Cleaning the dirt cup and filter is very easy. The only thing I don't like is the connection between the stick and the vacuum head. I occasionally like to separate the two parts when I clean the vacuum and it is very hard to do. Overall, I would have no qualms about buying another one.
Super power
This is a great little vacuum. Easy to use and store. Its very powerful and will pick up everything it comes to so I have to be careful of getting near the ends of things like little rugs. Picks up pet hair fantastic. Its very easy to empty. Last time I cleaned it out was because it seemed a little clogged up. It had swallowed a pair of socks, lol. The roller brush is super. Just wish they would include some kind of a little metal claw that could be used to clean the brush better. Like I said, it misses nothing.
Good machine if u can keep the brush working
I really like it. I had another one but the brush stopped rotating. So I bought another. Now it’s brush has stopped working because it tried to pick up my dogs chew bone. I contacted fort devil about it and after trying all the problem solutions they sent me, the brush still wont work. They said it wasn’t a manufacturer default so it’s not covered by their Warrenty. Now I have 2 with same problem! But it still has suction so I use it. But I have over a $100 for it. So I’m not real happy.
Great little vac for in-between clean
This is the best lightweight cordless vac I've found. Stick vac tubes tend to clog if picking up a lot of pet hair, but this makes quick work of it. A single charge is enough to do my entire first floor. I like that all the filter parts are washable so I can keep the unit clean between uses. It's not great for under furniture, but then, most vacs aren't. I'm a bit concerned about whether I can get replacements for the foam piece. But overall, I love this little vac.
Best stick vacuum you can buy!
This the second one of these I bought. The first one is 6 years old and the batteries are getting a little slow. The vacuum is lightweight and east to maneuver. You turn the handle to the right and the head angles to the right, turn left and the head turns left. You can run it with brushes on or off. Works well on wood and tile. Picks up everything off the carpet. Don't get rid of your big vac but for small jobs this is the way to go. You lay the handle down close to the floor and the head will go under just about anything. Three blue LED's tell you how the charge is holding up and go out when it is fully charged. Highly recommended!
So far so good….
This is a real review. Bought this a few weeks ago. I worked in a caretaking position for many years and know vacuums.
Not a durable unit
Nice little quick vac. I like the fact it is compact, and has an internal battery so I can just plug the vac in to charge and not have to remove a battery to sit in a charger on the counter. We got it as a supplement to our main vacuum, since we have kids we are always cleaning up. On a charge, it seems to run for about 20 minutes. Pretty light, easy to swivel and navigate around stuff, seems pretty peppy. You can turn off the beater bar, or leave it on, and when on, it pulls like a self propelled mower. The only issue I had with mine, is, it comes in 3 parts. The top two parts are connected by a ribbon cable, and were the top two parts connect, mine was difficult to snap together, and pinched the cable a couple times. I was worried I was going to break it, thank goodness I didn't. Otherwise a really nice, small quick vacuum for light duty. **Update. It did work really well, for almost a year. Despite having the name "PET" in it, the brush regularly gets wrapped up in the beater bar, eventually blocking airflow for pick up, and stalling the brush movement. There is a little plastic bushing between the beater bar and drive mechanism, that ground down, and no longer provides drive to the beater bar, only making a loud noise. I have not been able to find a replacement beater bar anywhere, and Dirt Devil said they are back order, so I am giving up repairing it, and just buying a new, different brand.
Mixed feelings
Today I received the Dirt Devil Power Swerve Pet 16V Lithium-Ion Cordless Stick Vacuum I ordered. First impression was it looked and felt awesome! I like the weight, yet lightness of the machine. My old vac was a very weightless, cheap, and useless piece of thing. Also, I must say I have a little short haired rat terrier. After charging the DD fully, I tried it for the first time on my tile floor. I was impressed at first. It was doing an amazing job with or without the brush roller working. I have a 3'x5' rug in my bedroom that had not been vacuumed for a while. As I said my other vac was useless. So, at first the DD was sucking up the old ground in dog hair.....and then it clogged and started spitting the hair back out. The dirt cup wasn't even a quarter full. I took the dirt cup off and saw wads of pet hair popping out wherever possible. After cleaning out the little inserts and the edges of the filter, I realized the intake tube in the machine was also severely clogged. I pulled out as much as possible. I suggest to DD to make that passage a bit wider. I also suggest including a flexible cleaner wand. Guess what worked....the clogged hair drain cleaner wand. After clearing the passage, the machine was as good as new. It now had the strength to clean the rug. I am not going to fault the machine too much at this point because that rug ultimately had a lot of pet hair on it to begin with. If I have any more problems I will update.
Removed 6mths of pet hair
After my roomba spent 6 months getting repairs, I needed something small and not too expensive. But, after that amount of time, it had a large job of cleaning rabbit fuzz, hay, and pellets. I even used this time clean the fuzz off my furniture.

This thing is great. I did a lot of research on these cordless vac's, and while some have this and some have that and maybe a bit more power and maybe run a little longer on a charge, this thing, for the price, cannot be beat. It offers "similar" performance to similar products costing 100's more and has features not found on even more expensive vac's, like turning the brush on and off and also being able to remove the brush for easy cleaning. You also don't need to hold the on button down to keep it on. Emptying the dust bin is easy, and the run time is adequate for most cleaning chores. I cannot vouch for reliability, because I have not had it a long time. Very light and easy to move around, and picks up well. I don't have a pet, so I cannot vouch for pet hair. Not having a removable battery is a little more inconvenient for storing and charging, but not a show stopper. Bottom line is that for the price, this is probably the best overall cordless vac out there, IMHO. And a good brand name. Maybe not the best, but nothing to complain about this product, and least so far. Definitely gets the job done.

Cross between dust buster & vacuum
Everything has pros and cons to it. What might be a con for me might be exactly what someone else is looking for, so I will list my experiences in detail so you can decide if it sounds like something you would like. Right out of the box you need to assemble the unit by snapping the 3 pieces together. Pretty straight forward, there is a cable you need to tuck in out of the way, but that was easy enough. It sounded easy to snap them together, but I found it hard to snap the upper handle on the main unit. It went really hard. I am a larger, muscular woman and typically don't have issues with this. Some of my more dainty friends would have needed assistance to get the handle on. I let it charge for several hours before using it briefly. After the complete charge I was busy so I put it in the closet for about a week. I was curious if it would hold the charge good. It did. As for using it, I have found it a bit of a learning curve. It is so light and swivels so easily that after using heavy cumbersome vacuums for years it seemed to be all over the place until I used a lighter touch. The slim head can fit in amazingly small spaces under furniture. It can get back far enough under low sitting chairs that it reaches farther than I can see. We have reclining sofas and the like that a normal vacuum wouldn't begin to get under. I can hear it is picking up plenty of items yet the suction isn't too severe as to lift rugs and get them stuck like my big vacuum does. If I get on the edge it will, but not if I stay on top of the rug. The problem I have with the light head is that it doesn't have enough weight to drop down and stay down. When I vacuum I have to keep it at a bit more of an angle so the head doesn't get stuck up in the air. Again, a learning curve with how to use it. It is small in size and very light. It would have been ideal to have this when our boys were young for them to help more as well as simple to haul out for a quick mess here or there. It is a vacuum so it naturally makes noise while running, but relatively quiet for what it does. I could still carry on a conversation with those around me, hear the doorbell, or be on a Bluetooth phone call, (it was heard by the person on the phone, but we were able to chat still). It has a generous compartment size before you need to empty the unit and it is good at picking up super fine dust and hair. I was amazed at how much of both it had after a small area that had been vacuumed fairly recently. It works on both carpet and hard floors, but the resistance of the carpet makes it easier than the smooth hard floor, again, I am sure I will get used to it and the lighter touch, but it seems easier to control on carpet. What is truly amazing about this unit is that it is CORDLESS which makes it super quick and easy to haul out, even briefly to clean up. It is truly a combination of a traditional upright vacuum and a dust buster. It is fabulous for our RV as well. My first initial use of the unit wasn't that intrigued, but after using it for a bit to see how simple, quick, and small it is I have gotten used to it and am truly impressed and super quick to haul it out and use it. The battery is holding up great! Overall I am truly impressed.
