I have owned three other welders, two of which are big brand red and blue. This 225x is quite smooth, unnoticeable difference behind the torch. Setting setup is on the fly, over digital panels, which have one going through a list of sub menus to arrange, just for one change. Build quality looks robust internally, well manufactured. Gas pedal potentiometer have a very nice transient amp range control. I'm glad to have discovered this welder. Small negatives, the size could possibly be brought down some, maybe not due to internal heat dissipation requirement, fans move lots of noisy air. Unless one upgrades the the 325 model for on demand feature, must deal with the noise.

Seems like a good welder so far. I have only had my TIG 225X for a couple of weeks so, I can’t go to in depth about its quality but, so far the machine seems really good. The customer service is on point. I called about a gas lens kit and a cover and since I never got the $25 off for my first purchase they just threw in the cover which was gonna be a little over $25. I’m pretty satisfied so far. I am also thinking about getting a water cooler for my 225X also. The ck17 torch gets a little warm when I weld on thicker metal's. Overall pretty happy with my purchase. I have to say that I did a lot of research before buying this welder and the main reasons were the reviews, (which I take with a grain of salt) the warranty, which includes shipping back and forth to the repair center, and last being a couple of friends that are good welders, opinions. The friend's opinion I trusted the most is a certified welding inspector which said this machine was impressive for the price. He also advised that the optional 200 amp torch was a good deal that I should get, which I did.

I grew up (sort of) in my father's shop and dabbled in TIG welding on and off my whole life - never really getting good at it, always using top tier equipment, but never knowing much about the settings or gear I was using. So a strange mix of experienced and clueless.
