Looks good, but that's about it
Overall, I like the look of the door and the quality seems decent. However, there are a number of design aspects that aren't great. The instructions are okay, but incorrect in some cases. The major issue is that they instruct you to cut a slot in the bottom style for the floor guide, but they have 4 screws installed in the bottom that prevents you from doing that. Bottom style is recessed, so flush guide is also out. Not happy
We had the door professionally installed by Home Depot and it looks beautiful. Just enough light comes through and it slides very quietly. Very happy with the purchase and installation service.
door seems fine until...
The door seems fine until you go to install it. The directions are lacking and poorly translated. Measurements given are partially in metric and partially in tenths of an inch. No sizes are given for the drillbits needed. The most annoying thing is the floor guide. The groove is not cut for the floor guide. The directions say to use a router or a circular saw to cut the groove, but there are four screws run down the center of the bottom of the door exactly where this cut should be made. Would not purchase again.
5 Stars
These closet doors are excellent quality. They have a top track and no need to install a bottom track which is so helpful in not having to constantly reconfigure the doors after slipping off track. The simple recessed panel gives them a classic look that would look equally as good in a modern setting as it does in my 120 year old Edwardian home.
The door is pretty heavy, good finishing, nice quality over all. It’s solid wood inside with a layer of not solid wood on the outside. It’s a nice set of doors, doesn’t really have instructions though, you need to look it up online
Beautiful door. The only thing stopping me from 5 stars was the fact that you need to carve the groove on the bottom of the door for the "t" you secure on the floor, to glide along. No easy task. Not enough surface area to use a router. All hand chisel work. But a beautiful door, perfectly delivered non the less.
This tall barn door kit was exactly what we needed for our renovation project! It looks beautiful installed. We did have to drill holes for the hardware to fit, since the door came factory finished and not prepped for install.
Love it! Wasn’t hard to install for my husband and completed our master bedroombathroom remodel perfectly! Also, filters lights from bathroom nicely so it’s not so bright when I’m up at 430am getting ready for work and husband is still sleeping. Very private also. You can barely see the shadow of anyone just inside the door.
Overall good, but a few details that might be helpful to others. This applies to my case, which was the 84" by 84" size.
Got the 96 inch door for new build. It was delivered within days and was protected by a wood crate to make sure it was delivered in perfect shape. It is very solid and a good weight to keep it from moving when shut. All hardware is included except a handle witch I ordered from Wayfair also. Can’t go wrong with this door.
This is a great door! The packaging was awesome, very well done. My wife helped me unpack the night before so it was ready for me to install first thing in the morning. The direction aren’t much but if you are a DIY around the home this should be hard. From start to finish it took me under 2 hours by myself. The door is heavy so be careful hanging it.
We replaced our kids closet doors with these to help give them more space in the room. They are nice looking and instantly updated the look of their room. We added a rolling track to the bottom of the door to help hold it in place. The problem is that the vertical boarder pieces are not flush with the horizontal boarder pieces so the door rocks a little.
Barn door is fabulous.
Wow. Door quality? Nice. Install time? 2 days. Why? One page instructions, not in English. Not in Chinese, not in any language. All pictures. All metric. Instructions are for a single door. If you buy the kit with two doors, it is doable, but don't expect any directional help. Hope you have a metric tape measure, metric drill bits, and some of the measurements just don't add up. Make sure you check the measurements. Now that it is installed? Yeah, I like it. Fiberboard doors are well crafted, and attractive. Super heavy. Laughable to use the "drywall anchors" included with the kit. Don't try it! Way too heavy. Bore this into studs only! Look, if you have a "cold saw" or the ability to cut 3/16" steel cleanly, some flat black paint, can locate 16" on-center stud placement, are able to bore 3/8" holes in steel if the precut holes don't line up, don't mind cyphering pictures with dubious measurements (hole spacing on the center connection is 15" instead of 16", for some reason), and are a decent carpenter, you are going to end up with some very nice barn doors. If not, this may be a more challenging product than you think you are paying for. I actually had a cold saw, a de-burr tool, the flat paint on-hand, and it turned out pretty well. Nice, actually. But this is definitely not an easy install. Shame really; this is one of those products that if the manufacturer had a group of unfamiliar individuals try to follow the directions for installation, and included some helpful hints for issues that may develop during install, this could be developed easily into an outstanding product with appropriate instructions.
These doors are beautiful. The hanging hardware is good quality and the way the light shines through the glass adds a lovely ambiance to the room. We had them professionally installed, and the installer put in a strip of wood across the wall to provide additional support. They make the room! I hesitated at first given the price, but I’m glad I went for it.
The dimensions are for *each* door :(
The doors look fairly well made, but I did not fully unpack them. Unfortunately, there is ambiguity when shopping for double or split barn doors. Some listings give the width of the door opening, or the width of both doors together. Unfortunately, this listing gives the width of *each* door, so I was very surprised to receive two doors, each of which is the size of the entire opening. The listing does not provide enough information to clarify the actual dimensions of what is to be shipped, so this was a waste of time and a significant amount of money to ship back the doors.
They are great. They installed in about a half hour with all the trimming to fit in the opening. You can see a slight blemish on the door which is odd since they were shopped in wooden boxes. But the door pull will go over it. Didn’t put the round ones on. Bought replacements to match another door in the room.
I needed a door for my pantry. I could not be happier with this modern, sleek barn door. I was able to order the exact size I needed. My contractor was able to cut down the stainless steal rail and give me more wall space for my artwork. The only negative was the door was left in front of my building , they could have left it in the lobby (out of the elements) and still been contact free.
Beautiful barn doors.
Sturdy Double Barn Door Frosted Glass 12 Lites / Felicia 3312 Ginger Ash Gray. These doors are sturdy. Definitely not hollow and just beautiful. Will go perfectly with my newly renovated home office. Just waiting for it to arrive. We shall see
Absolutely Gorgeous and feels very rich! Glass is NOT completely see-thru so you get great light but can't see clearly straight through which is totally what we wanted. Only issue is there is no way to latch the doors closed or even get them to stay closed and nothing in the middle to attach anything to - when the doors are open you have the entire opening, which is pretty, but there is no way to keep them closed - so we will have to buy something to latch them to the ceiling or floor - did not realize that from the writeup - there always needs to be a way to keep a door closed!
