Great quality

I'm a light sleeper and my husband tosses and turns, so with our prior mattress it was rough getting a good night sleep. We are so happy with the new split king lux estate adjustable mattress. It's soft but firm, and we love that we can put our head or feet up independently. Neither of us wakes up with back pain like we used to and most of all, my husband can move all he wants and it doesn't interrupt my sleep. The only thing I don't love about it is sometimes after adjusting each mattress, you have to push it back over a little to the center to push them together. I wish the mattress had a backing similar to a rug for no slipping against the frame so this doesn't happen. Even with that, still great purchase and experience for us! Easy to order online and the delivery guys were great.

Uncomfortable & made cheap

First of all if I could give this rating a zero I would, but they don't have this option. After 5 years of owning this mattress and paying lots of $$$ we are going to have to by another mattress because it is so lumpy and indented from where we sleep. You aren't supposed to have to turn or flip this mattress and we did to see if it would make it any better, NOT!! We paid a lot of money for this bed because my husband has a very bad back and has had surgery on it and it is not a good mattress at all. This mattress is not worth the money you pay. Then we call to see if we can get it warranted and it has to be at least 20% indented, give me a break. We like NOTHING about this mattress. Stearns & Foster we are very disappointed in you!! Medium is the best for me

When we ordered our split king mattresses, we were moving and needed something right away. Mattress Firm did not have a "medium" mattress in stock - only firm. We went ahead and placed the order based on the salesman's assurance that I could request a replacement after a 30-day trial. I hated to think of the waste, but apparently if the mattresses come back in perfect condition, they can be used as floor samples, so that made me feel okay about it. Turned out I could not get used to the firm mattress. I would wake up with aches in my hips and shoulders (I'm a side sleeper). So I made the call and requested the swap. I now wake up in the morning with no aches! And the delivery team could not have been more respectful of our space. I'm now a happy camper.

Wonderfully comfortable mattress

What a wonderful mattress! We are sleeping so much better each night and not waking up to change positions multiple times. Morning aches and stiffness has disappeared for us. We really had not expected such a positive change just from a mattress purchase, It is comfortably firm yet soft. It holds its shape well after a night's sleep, too. Our sleeping temperature is great with this along with the mattress cover we bought at the same time. We had owned a Stearns and Foster mattress early in our marriage (with a stopover for another brand before this). This purchase made us very glad that we returned to the S&F family.

Don't Waste Your Money

My son owned a Cassette Luxery Ultra Plush which was no longer offered so when I called Stearns & Foster they advised me to buy the Lux Estate Pillowtop Soft. The customer service representive told me to try and find a store that carried that mattress before finalizing my order and to try it out. I found the mattress and brought my son along to see if it was comparable to his mattress and we both agreed that it was. I paid for my order and was so excited to receive it. I placed the order in mid June and it was delivered on July 3'd. The first thing that I noticed was that the mattress had a Sealy tag attached to it and I even questioned the guys who delivered it but they were unable to answer my questions. I knew that I ordered it from Stearns & Foster and they take pride on making your mattress so they say. The next thing I did was to lay on the mattress and I knew immediately that it wasn't the same that I laid on in the store. I called customer service several times and they advised me to walk on the mattress to make it softer. The next time they told me that my mattress was firm because of the temperture in my house. In the end they told me to try a featherbed to break it in and when that didn't work I bought a three inch gel mattress topper. After poor customer service I'm stuck with a mattress that cost a lot and is poor quality. My message to anyone who is considering on buying this mattress is just don't waste your money! I had a problem and customer service hung up on me several times before getting someone to help me. Because of them and their advice I have a firm mattress that I'm highly dissatisified with. I saved up to buy a mattress like my son had because I have pemanent muscle spasms but I feel like I'm laying on a brick pile. I'm using the gel topper so I can at least tolerate it. It's by far the most expensive mistake that I have ever made!!

"Lux" Comfortable

Mattress firm made the whole experience a dream with their exceptional service. I must have gone in at least 4 times to 'test' mattresses for hours. And finally came to the conclusion that the one i wanted was too expensive. So they gave me a great deal on it! this mattress is VERY comfortable. I tried all varieties from beds in a box to tempurpedic to beautyrest. THis one has tempurpedic type foam for the pillowtop instead of just ordinary foam. I does start to mould to your shape pretty quickly but bounces back. Great for back and side sleepers but if you need really frim for back sleeping i would go with the firm and not the medium firm. my advise. do not go by reviews..go into the store and test them all!! I did go with one I bought online from reviews initially but had to return it. so don't waste your time....Go try them!!!

Bed of nails!

This mattress feels nothing like the one I tried in the showroom. First night I had to get up halfway through the night to sleep in the guest room. So firm that I feel like I'm sleeping on the floor. Went back to showroom to try to switch the bed to a softer model and was told I couldn't do anything until after the 30 day break in period. I'm now on day 5 and after a few hours it becomes so painful that I have to sleep elsewhere. My husband has also ends up abandoning ship and sleeping elsewhere. I've tried pulling the mattress off the bed and walking on it, as recommended for "break-in" did it on and off for a few hours one afternoon, no change. All I want to do in exchange the bed but I can't. I would be happy to take the floor model at this point, because it feels like a completely different bed than what I purchased. $4K and I'm now taking Advil and muscle relaxers to make it through the day.

Just Right

In the process of finding just the right fit, we have learned that the preference for 'feel' in a mattress is the very definition of being individually subjective. Plus, you're going to cover your decision with a mattress protector and sheets over that - giving a very different experience than what's 'test driven' at a store. We home tested a Beautyrest, Stearns and Foster Estate and Stearns and Foster Lux Estate - so very thankful to our local Mattress Firm for their patience and understanding! Our very different preferences has forced the very expensive route of two Twin XL's to create a King. My wife chose a super soft Beautyrest; I chose the Stearns and Foster Lux Estate 16" Soft Euro Pillow Top. So, why spend the considerable additional bucks on a Lux Estate VS. the standard Estate?

Annette was probably the best mattress sales person I have ever met. She asked about our need and, once informed, proceeded to educate us on the difference in the varying mattresses on hand. She might not be a sleep doctor, but she is the most informed person I have ever met on the issues I have been facing. The mattress we selected is probably the best mattress I have ever had. I have been through three mattresses in the last five years and suffered terrible pain from sleeping on them and even had problems getting to sleep. I am now taking less sleep medication than I have ever taken and have been getting better sleep as a result of the mattress. My hip pain has all but resolved. I am impressed and will keep this mattress until I die! Thank you, Annette! You're an angel in disguise! Thank you!

Not this one!

This was the exchange for a firm Black Class C. This is overly soft. Do not particularly like pillow top. Side of bed compresses when you get in and out.
