Nice but the attachable charger doesn't attach

It's pretty and it was easy to assemble. However the "attachable charger" does not attach. You would have to drill your own holes into the headboard. So if the charger is important to you, plan ahead.

Install nightmare

The instructions were minimal at best. What a nightmare to put together. Never again. Had to redo the legs after struggling to put together.

Poor fit and finish

Bolts that secure metal frame to headboard legs had to be significantly shortened …. they are 1 inch long and they had to be shortened to a length of 5/8 inch. Also, legs when butted up against headboard do not flow well into headboard …. very poor, fit and finish. Contacted AFI via email …. the only response I received was that “they apologize for being so busy and they’ll get back to me as soon as they can”. Forty eight hours later they still hadn’t contacted me to resolve my issues.

Richmond Headboard

This versatile headboard can be used with both a platform or metal bed frame. I installed it on my metal bed frame. It's easy to assemble and I easily attached it to my frame. It looks very nice on my bed. I would buy this product again.

Great value for the miney spent. I did anticipate the color to be more of a dark brown, I'd judge it to be more of a darkest brown, but not black toned. It went together easily with one person and the supplied hardware correctly attached the queen headboard to my metal box spring/mattress frame.

The headboard was delivered with no damage. The holes to attach the headboard to our existing regular metal frame was a bit of a mess. Didn’t match up on either side so if we hadn’t messed with it a bit we would have had one leg on the floor and one floating about an inch or more. We decided it wasn’t worth the hassle to return so we just made it work. I wouldn’t get again just for the shoddy hole placements.

Nice product for the price

This is a nice, sturdy headboard for the price. It looks nice in the guest room. It was easy to assemble and attached to a metal bed frame. The product came packaged very well and there were no flaws on the product. It also included extra hardware which was not needed, but appreciated. I ordered the white and it is a true white. It also came with a phone charger you have the option to screw onto the bed frame. It did not have pre-made holes, so I elected to not attach it to the frame at this time, but may just lay near the bed instead. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality for the price (no flaws in workmanship), I recommend it.

Value, style, and well constructed

I bought this dark wood mission style headboard because of its understated styling. It also matches my previously purchased dresser and chest of drawers. I am pleased with the construction of the headboard. It was easily put together. It is truly a value for style and construction for the $.

Great choice for narrow headboard (1" depth)

Great option for smaller room when you need a narrow headboard that doesn't overpower the room. Style lends itself to blending with other pieces (we found a matching nightstand & dresser -- not same brand, but complimented each other well). Overstock arranged for USB attachment to be sent separately (free of charge) when one wasn't included in box but mentioned in reviews (thank you OS!). This was particularly helpful so that my mother-in-law can keep phone within reach while charging at night.

Atlantic Richmond White Queen Headboard

I received the well packed headboard with NO damage. The wood was sold and of good weight. It was easy to assemble. The only thing I was disappointed with - on the sides of the headboard where the screws attach there is NO screw cap. I contacted the manufacturer and they said they were aware of it and would let their designers know. I believe I should be able to find screw cap covers at Home Depot.

Poorly Made - Visible Imperfections, Dents,Marks, Scratches

I ordered two of these headboards .They looked great on-line and had some great reviews. They came beautifully packaged, but when I opened both boxes the headboards had all sorts of imperfections on both sides and on both headboards-dents, black marks, scratches. If they had just one or two tiny flaws, I probably would have kept them as the price was so good, but they were very poor quality and the imperfections were very visible so I returned them. At first I thought that perhaps a damaged headboard had been shipped to me, but both headboards had noticeable imperfections.

It was put together backwards so that the huge silver screws show up in the front instead of facing the wall and this could not be corrected since the holes for the bed frame are facing that way also. If we did not need this product immediately, we would have of course returned it. Very disappointed and reluctant to purchase another product online from this company and Home Depot.

This is a simple but elegant headboard that I selected to hopefully coordinate well with my higher end wood dressers & nightstands. It was easy to put together, though I did have to drill out one hole that wasn’t fully open. I have it snugged up against the wall & secured with command strips rather than attached to the bed frame since I’d gotten an adjustable frame platform bed. It looks great in my room & matches the other furniture almost perfectly. I ordered online. It arrived at store quickly & a store associate brought it out & loaded into my car. Shipping, service, quality of item all met or exceeded my expectations.

This is a nice headboard for the not very high price...not great. Seems a little "cheap" - hoping it is sturdier than it looks. I do feel if I leaned up against it it might break. Feel the painting/staining - especially by the slats - could be considerably better but the pillows basically cover that area so not the end of the world. Overall I am fine with it and the coloring is exactly what i wanted....the black/brown tone. It does LOOK nice.

This is such a well-made and good-looking headboard. For the price, I was surprised to get a sturdy solid wood piece of furniture. The stain is gorgeous and is a perfect match to our custom-made dressers (a wonderful plus!) I have seen this same headboard selling at other places but could never find the king-size walnut stain in stock at any of those places. After about a year of searching and finally giving up...I found it at Home Depot! It was quickly delivered to the store for pick up and I am a happy camper. Home Depot prices are very competitive and their service is the best.

MUCH darker than the pictures!

This arrived timely and the quality seemed really nice for the price. However beware!! This is a chocolate brown color NOT what appears in the picture which is a medium brown with a little red. I have to return this because the wood does not match any of the other wood in the room. Overstock is making me pay the return shipping because the item is not defective, but with wood specifically, if it isn't what is pictured, it won't match what you have. Very disappointed.!

I scoured the internet looking for a headboard for the king bed in my guest room. I wanted something that looked nice but wasn't horribly expensive. I was skeptical given the very reasonable price point but ordered it anyway. I can't believe how nice it looks in real life and it's made from real wood! It was extremely easy to put together. I did it all by myself and I am not a handy person at all. It feels solid once all of the bolts are tightened down. The pieces fit together easily and lined up perfectly for a nice, clean look. All of the hardware needed to assemble the headboard and attach it to a bed frame is included. The instructions were very easy to follow. It was packaged very well for shipping and showed up without a scratch on it. I am thrilled with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably-priced headboard that looks and feels like it is very high quality.

Unhappy with this headboard

The hardware for putting the headboard together was left out of the box. After calling Hayneedle, it took 9 days for me to get it from the manufacturer (Atlantic). A hole that was drilled in the back of the headboard at the top, for assembly, was mistakenly drilled all the way through. The front was patched with a wood plug, that blocked the insertion of the screw and barrel nut needed to assemble the headboard. I ad to take it out, cut it down with a razor blade, and then glue it in. The holes for attaching the bed to a bed frame don't line up with any of the holes in my standard, metal bed frame. Now I will have to either give it away, or hire a handyman to modify the headboard, making it an expensive and miserable purchase.
