Nice cover
Nice mattress protector! Washed and dried without issue and put it on the bed all by myself without too much of a struggle. I’m impressed and recommend this item! The corners have elastic to keep it snug and it fits deep mattresses well. It didn’t melt in the dryer on low heat and didn’t rip when installing like others.
Works well, some flaws
3 stars because It does what it’s intended to do, protects my mattress. The one I purchased also didn’t rip or have a strong scent like what other reviews have stated. Yes, it is plasticky but with some decent sheets you can’t really tell the difference when it’s on your mattress. Here’s why I won’t purchase another one. Drying it is a huge pain, it has to be dried on a low/no heat setting and so it takes forever to dry. You could also try air drying it in the sun for a few hours, but depending on the size you get, it’s still a huge pain. Putting it on is also extremely difficult in that you need two people to do it. Your mattress is supposed to zip into it. It doesn’t just go over your mattress like a sheet. Sometimes it’s so difficult to dry and put on that I don’t even bother with putting it on the mattress which defeats the purpose of buying it in the first place.
Ineffective Cooling, Small Sizing, Decent Coverage
I should have listened to the other 1 star reviews. Despite this protector's claims of temperature regulation and cooling effects, I still wake up as hot and sweaty every single night as I did when sleeping on a cheap foam topper on top of an air mattress. I'm sure that if it weren't for my high end cooling mattress (a purple restore hybrid) I would probably be even more uncomfortable. The cotton side feels like a worn out pantyhose with how thin and flimsy feeling it is, with the opaque polyester of course directly underneath and all around it. Perhaps, I expected too much of a material to be able to keep out liquids and let in air at the same time. Also, it barely fit over my 11.5 inch mattress, which I do like the snugness, but I have no idea how this would ever fit on even a 12 inch mattress, much less a 14 inch one. Either way, I am only keeping this because I have no other protector and I need something to keep the sweat off my expensive mattress. The only thing true about this mattress that I like is it's 6 sided coverage.
Great performance, great price
This was about $50 when I bought it. We had just purchased a new mattress and I wanted to keep it nice. I put this mattress protector on it, put the sheets on top and didn’t think about it again. It never bunched up or shifted - I forgot it was there. Well 2 years of life later, we’re doing some Spring cleaning and I decided to wash the protector in addition to the sheets (usually just to the sheets). The mattress underneath looks brand new. Looks like it’s just out of the packaging. I am very impressed at how well the protector worked given that it never felt plastic-y or heavy and didn’t get in the way of the cooling mattress topper either. And for $50?! I’m happy with the purchase. I’d buy it again, but I don’t need to because it’s still like new and easy to wash.
It Fits
While we just purchased an put this on I can't say how effective it is against bedbugs. However it does seem to be a quality product and fit our 10" mattress just fine. A bit of a pain to install but that may be due to the mattress (Tempurpedic) which is hard to manhandle. It definitely took two people to install. The instructions were good as well. Beware the tag that says 'This Side Up'. We didn't and had to reinstall it so the zippers weren't on top.
Awful awful awful. No wualoty control and instructions are a lie
I’ve used three of this brand’s mattress protectors over the years. They have all been fine. Today I had to buy a replacement and expected no issues. Hahahaha. I ripped the skin off my knuckles and broke a sweat trying to make this “stretch to fit” as the package says it will. My mattress if 14 inches deep … full size, not queen … and so I naturally bought a full size mattress protector — as I had done before, for the same mattress. This one is clearly simply too small. Moreover, it is not only narrow but too short by an inch or two. By essentially wadding up my foam mattress I was able finally to zip this hideous thing up … only to immediately see the seams starting to snap! So stretch to fit is a myth. A queen size will almost certainly be too big. In short: a piece of complete junk. It would be far easier and more pleasant to simply take tow twenty dollar bills and burn them since that is all you are accomplishing by paying for this escapee from Hades.
Nope
This does not work for an encasement for bedbugs. It's not bedbug proof. I read something that said they haven't actually tested it for hey get out the zipper teeth I think. You can duct tape the zipper seems to help but that seems like a lot of work for something I paid fifty something dollars for. A little steep guys. I wouldn't complain about the price of actually worked. Other wise it seems like a good mattress protector. Made well. Good material doesn't make you hot doesn't make noise or stick to you if you happen to not have the sheets on over it.
Wow!
I have been buying this cover since I have discovered it a couple years ago. I recommend it to everyone. If I wasn’t embarrassed I would post pictures. I am a mother of 5 and no matter how hard I try my children manage to destroy the sheets with food mud paint markers but every time I remove the cover to wash my mattress is whiter than day, nothing makes it through that protective cover to my mattresses. I will continue to use these. The only thing I wish is that the stains would remove from the cover easier usually I just throw them away and buy a new one however they cost a pretty penny. Other than that they are really worth it.
Bamboozled! This Is NOT What I Wanted!!
I bought this to replace a previous mattress protector I’d had that I LOVED. I apparently didn’t look over this closely/enough, as this is NOTHING like what I wanted. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize this until it was out of the package…
Hot and loud, but not the way you might want on a mattress
There is no universe in which this stretches to fit a 14" mattress as stated. Mine is 11.5" and if it were 12" the attempt to put this on likely would have ended in tears. This is also hot and loud material, but works for me because I am putting a topper over/outside it. Beware, plush mattress people: another problem with this product (that I'm avoiding with the external topper) is loss of surface comfort, since there's very little stretch. (Kind of like an air mattress, where the surface is never soft no matter how much air you let out.) I only want to keep dust mites out of the mattress itself, so whatever. I'll keep it. Don't expect to be comfy if all you're putting over this is a sheet, though.
Drop it like its hot
This protector is HOT. I went for the cotton option thinking it would do as it says. Regulate your temp. Absolutely does not. I don’t even run hot and sleep alone. The quality doesn’t feel very good. It’s very thin so we’ll see what happens when I wash it. I put it on alone and was afraid it wouldn’t fit but it does stretch enough to fit my 13.5 inch deep mattress. It fits snug but it fits. Overall, because it’s like sleeping on plastic I do not recommend. I wake up sweating
It is not waterproof as advertised
This is definitely not waterproof as advertised. Completely unexpectedly, my senior dog sneaked on the bed and peed for some reason. I smelled something foul in the bedroom and after investigating, I realized what happened. I removed the bedding and found the spot where she peed on the mattress protector. I was so relieved that I purchased this mattress protector when I bought my new mattress just a few months ago.
Works! Stop if your thinking about a cheaper option! If you have problem! The cheap ones dont work
So I read the reviews after buy and noticed that people where complaining about the wrong thing.. I had a issue… we all know what Iam talking about… I kept buying the cheap ten dollar bed covers.. and i noticed after a few days that’s problem returned… mind you I super cleaned my entire apartment… bought a steamer from here and de everywhere… only time I would would have marks would be after I slept in my bed.. so I was sure I had it contained to that area.. what had me confused was that I put a cover on the bed and my pillows( the cheapest ones from here) and it would only solve my problem for a day or so… then I would have little marks… followed buy bigger ones… wash everything on bed and still.. finally I got tired of wasten money on laundry and cheap covers and decided to buy this product including there pillow covers… mind you after washing every thing again and steaming my bed and frame.. before installing… and what I can say is Iam pretty these finally did it… it’s been 4 days Iam finally healing with no new marks… if I had to guess it’s the zippers… because every time it would start again I find trails of there waste in a line going towards the corners bed near were the zipper wraps around… anyway I hope this helps someone… it’s not worth it.. save your money and buy this… with the money I spent on the cheap ones I could have bought this and saved myself weeks of confusion and torment worrying if I spread them…(mind you they usually stick to wear you sleep and I made it a point to only sleep in my bed even if I was sacrificing my skin). Good luck declutter and put de in places they might hide… vacuum and if can afford buy a steamer… I’ll still be living outta a bag for a few more weeks untill Iam sure but so far so good! Keep in mind like I said if your worried they like to stay safe and will most likly not risk getting squished as long as they have a good home in you bed! Sorry about the long story… also get a size larger then what size your bed is if you can…. They run tight!
NOT WATERPROOF
False advertising. This product is not waterproof. I purchased this king size mattress encasement on 8/16/23. I gave an elderly dog that is having urine incontinence issues. This mattresses protector was to replace a 10 year old encasement from Denver Mattress. This mattresses protector states that it is waterproof, but it is not. Urine soaks straight through into the mattress. I even doubled layered the old worn out encasement over this to help protect and the mattress was still very wet underneath. If you need a product that will actually protect your mattress from spills or accidents, don't waste your money on this.
SAVE YOURSELF THE SWEAT AND BLISTERS, size up and get the cotton one with stretch edges.
PLEASE. Trust me on this review. Okay. So my neighbor in my complex had an infestation of bed bugs, so naturally I panicked as one does. Cleaned, sprayed, steamed. You name it. The n you get to the mattress. I have a full size, pillow top mattress. I was a big dumb dummy and got the full size mattress protector that’s plastic on panic impulse and it was TRAGIC. I’m being 100% honest that it took me an hour and a half, two blisters on my knuckles (from pulling on the cover to get it to stretch) and an unattractive amount of sweat later to get it on. Not to mention I had to get rid of my foam topper because it WOULD NOT FIT. Fast forward to that night. The mattress protector is SO tight that it not only sounds like I’m sleeping on plastic bags, but it’s completely compressed the pillow top so the mattress has no give and starts bothering my back. Mind you, I’ve been a nurse for 12 years and have three herniated discs so I’m like Goldilocks and the three mattresses and it takes forever to find the right soft/firmness. As I’m laying there, miserable, doom scrolling, I see there’s a cotton version. So next day (today) go to target, get a SIZE UP on the cotton ish cover, and bought a stupid new topper (opted for down instead of foam based on the mold reviews) and viola. 20 minutes. Topper on. Plenty of zippability. No blisters. Mattress has at least some give. Happy customer.
Not waterproof
A but of a pain in the butt to put on but I thought that was a decent trade off for really good mattress protection. Well… it’s not that great of a trade off because it isn’t waterproof. I will say less of the pee went through the cover than other covers we’ve used but it’s definitely not waterproof. I had to upholstery clean a mattress before school this morning. For an adult that just wants something to protect a mattress from dust or pet hair it would be fine but for anyone with a child who could potentially wet the bed this won’t get the job done. I wish the description said water resistant instead of water proof. I made sure the correct side was facing up when I took it off and it hasn’t been removed before so it wasn’t compromised by improper washing or drying.
Repellent but not Waterproof
I bought this in queen size in January and chose this because it's an encasement, claims of being waterproof, cotton, easy to install and the price point. The top material feels like a t-shirt but the sides and bottom remind me of a shower curtain, crinkly. The water proof portion is on the inside and only consistents of laminated fabric, there is no extra panel. This coating will wear away with time or excessive stretching, making it less effective with every accident or heat from water or a dryer. Turning it inside out after laundering in cold water so it can air dry is best. I have pets and accidents happen, the longer the mess sits the more likely it is to leak through. And it has leaked through multiple times. The encasement is also difficult to put on and take off because it's opening is small; picture a sandwich bag. I have to inch it while going back and forth between sides, which really sucks when it's covered with cat pee or barfed up grass. My bed consistents of a mattress and topper, set up it measures 13" inches thick and it fits snug with the protector and doesn't shift. I don't think it could be forced to fit more than that even thought it says it's supposed to accommodate thicker mattresses. As for the temperature balancing features, I didn't really notice anything, I don't sleep hot and live in a climate where the A/C is almost always on. I won't be buying this again and wouldn't recommend it to people who really need something waterproof or deep pocketed.
Fits a 13" Mattress Max!!!
This is a decent product. A little pricey and not necessarily the absolute best one out there but the best one available from Wal-Mart and delivered super-fast which was great since it got here before my mattress did.
A bit inconsistent, but good.
I just purchased my second one of these, and while I think it’s a great product, I have noticed inconsistencies. The first one I bought was so hard to get on that I said we were cutting it off with scissors when I felt that it was time. And that’s what I ended up doing because it was so tight we weren’t going to fight with it. I have a nectar mattress and it made it feel much firmer than it was due to the tension of the cover. I hate that we had to throw it away instead of being able to wash it, but I doubt it would have gone on a second time anyway. The second one I bought went on very easily, in fact, it’s a little bit too large (same mattress). I ended up tucking the sides under, but my bed is much softer now that it has give to the fabric, and I can take it off to wash easily so no complaints there. As for the waterproof claim, the first one was magic. I have two dogs and stains happen, but my mattress still looked brand new even after spot treating it many times. I don’t know if the cover itself has changed or not, but I’m hoping we will have just as much luck with the waterproof claim as we did the first one. I haven’t noticed it changing the temperature of the bed/my body as others have stated it does, and I’ve been using them for a couple of years. I also don’t believe it has any sort of “plastic” feel or rustling noises, it’s quite soft. All in all, would (obviously) buy again.
[Rewarded Review] Hands Down the Best Allergen Mattress Protector
Our oldest daughter has developed allergies and it seems that it is worth during the summer with the pollen, trees, etc. Her pediatrician recommended in addition to OTC allergy medicine that we pick up a mattress protector for her bed that provided allergy protection, especially since our dog likes to lay with her at bedtime. After doing some searching and reading other customer reviews, I decided to go with the Allerease Ultimate Cotton zippered mattress protector, which protects against allergy and bedbugs, plus offers cotton comfort.
