Well I be. I just installed this today (28JUN2023). The trick that I discovered on my own (could not find any explicit instructions anywhere) was to knock-out the "back" center electrical plug on the electrical box to give one "washer" half of the bar-hanger fastener "sandwich" a proper place to seat.

It worked but had to do some cutting and reverse...

Stay away from this product

Where is the lock nut that you need for this thing? There are threads on the piece that fits through the knockout in a rectangular J-box, but no lock nut. I wasted a lot of time trying to find a lock nut that would fit, and failed. Finally I got a heavy hex nut that seemed to fit, and went with that. But after installing the bar, it wouldn't stay tight on the threads. I wasted many hours on this piece of so and so.

The bar hangers worked very well for my electrical project...

The bar hangers worked very well for my electrical project for LED lights. The only thing that would make the device a little easier to work with is to make the female part of the "not" extend a little further. When the hanger is used with an octagon box it requires a lot of dexterity in a small space to get the screw to secure the box with the bracket and the screw inside the octagon box. Frankly if the female nut could extend even 1/8th of an inch that would make it much easier to attach the screw to the nut within the octagon box.
