Very Light Area Rug, but looks great

The color of the rug is distressed stripes in a 2-tone design with one large stripe and two small stipes.. I placed the rug in our Master bedroom next to the bed. It the color and pattern is great, but because the rug is so light the corners keep rolling up. I was hoping not to use rug tape, but so far I have not been able to get any of the corners to lay flat. It claims the rug is machine washable and that it should be hung to dry. Although it's not dirty, I am going to try this to see if it will help the corners to lay flat. Note it does claim the rug may shrink up to 3% when washed and they recommend using a rug pad to extend the life. They also tell you to leave the rug out for one week to allow time for the creases and corners to lay flat, but none of the creases or corners have yet to lay flat. Hopeful they will lay flat over time as claimed.
