Better than nothing, but not much

This stuff may last forever, but it is almost entirely salt. I cycle my emergency food every year or so as camp food. This stuff left me and my buddies preferring to not eat. The deal of this bucket is too good to be true. The calories you have in a emergency are better than the ones you don't, but these aren't much better. Seriously spend the money on something better if you can. There are places and times you can get the equivalent amount of food, in better individual packages, from a better brand for about $120.

Its for emergency use

In a emergency you need to cut back on the amount of food you are eating.

Would buy again

Exactly what I want. Price on sale was great. Regular price is a little high for me. Probably worth the price though.

Great Backup

I have over a years-worth of long-term food storage on hand, mostly Wise brand. A few years back I owned a military surplus store and sold Wise and other brands too. I am familiar with the quality and taste of Wise and the others; not all is created equal. Long-term food storage should not be counted on as your only source of nutrition, it should be considered a supplement, but can be a primary source there is no other source. Many reviewers complain about the cost per serving; what is your life of the life of your loved ones worth. Other complain about the size of the serving; again, you have to remember this food should not be considered as your primary, but as a supplement. If you are considering buying long-term food storage, look at the big picture of your expected situation and plan accordingly. Nothing says you can't have short term food as well, just remember to rotate it out and replace it with new.

This product is to be used as an emergency food source.

Since there has been no national emergency food shortage, I have not tried let alone opened anything.

I have not opened the package yet, its a gift to my daughter and her husband, as the are being deployed, so no idea yet on flavor. The price was out of this world and allowed me to spend a little extra on a better selection.
