We love this trailer
I'm glad I went with this trailer. Though it's a bit more bulky than I wanted, pulling it is quite easy and the foldable storage helpful. Also, the customer service is superb as many have pointed out. A couple downsides: The assembly instructions are very unclear. Wish they were detailed a little better. But thanks to Aosom's stellar customer service, I was able to get sorted out.
Best bang for your $
First off. My rating is 4.5 stars for this trailer. The site only uses whole numbers to rate.
Special note for e-bike riders
Love the trailer! Great customer service. E bike riders¡ªthe hitch adapter was slightly too small for the hub bolt on our electric bikes and we had to use a metal drill bit (9/16) to enlarge the hole a little. Once that was done the trailer pulled smoothly. We did put in a no-slip pad for better stability for our pup. She got use to riding pretty quickly. Set up and tear down is quick and easy. We did get another bike hitch adapter for my bike ( same modification required) so that either of us could pull the trailer.
Extraordinary design and quality for the price
One of the best buys I've made in years. Weight-wise, it's not a Burley, but the design and build quality are superb for the price. I love how it folds up and lays nearly flat to the wall. I couldn't be happier with this purchase and would definitely recommend. Thanks so much for mfg and selling this wonderful trailer with such value in mind; by doing so you are contributing to a better world.
Great Product - Great Service
Despite other reviews, I found this dog bike trailer easy to assemble. The only "tricky" part is the upper bar at the back - simply remove the t-shaped plastic piece, use the hardware to attach it to the frame on the opposite side and then snap the end of the bar into the plastic piece and secure with the locking pin. This product is very cleverly designed and well made. You could spend two or three times the amount for something not any better. My only problem was that one small part was missing because UPS almost destroyed the box - AOSOM needs to use a stronger box when shipping UPS which, in my experience, handles packages very poorly and damages anything but the lightest and smallest package. To my surprise, AOSOM sent a complete replacement trailer because they don't stock individual parts. This kind of great customer service is almost non-existent these days. Kudos to AOSOM!! Looking forward to many miles of riding my bicycle with my dog happily and safely traveling behind in his trailer.
Sturdy, easy to maneuver and nice looking
I've taken my 3 chihuahuas bike riding in this cart several times and we love it! It's heavy so it doesn't tip over and it's easy to attach and detach from my bike. The one thing that it could use is a softer floor for them to sit or lay on. I put a blanket on the bottom and my dogs are more comfortable so not a big deal. I recommend this cart to all small dog owners who don't like leaving their pets behind to go out riding.
A bit tough to pull & dog doesn't like it, but it does its job well
I figure my Goldendoole puppy would like this, since her head just barely pops over the top window, so I left it open, didn't leash her down (she doesn't jump), only to notice her running beside me.? Haha.? After getting her re-situated, I leashed her to the hook inside, so she can pop her head out while we ride, and now she cannot climb out.? Having the leash option is a mush. The whole system collapses to fit in my motorhome's rear large storage bin along with my BBQ grill, fire pit, and such. since it folds flat, I can stow it upright, between other items. With the larger wheels, it was easier to pull than the smaller tires, but it is a bit heavier than I expected.? I cannot imagine pulling one of those other carts with the smaller wheels.Assembly is quick and simple.? the walls fold down, and the wheels pop off to be stored inside the cart when collapsed.? The tow arm also folds in for a tight packing when stowed away.
Can't wait to use it but.....
Just received my bike trailer today. While I am happy with the overall quality of it I have to complain about the poor quality instructions. The instructions have 4 words at the top (assembling instruction doggy liner) and then a series of 12 poor quality black and white photos that show you the assembly steps you are to take. I managed to guess my way through these all the way to picture 11, where you attach the carrier to the bike. I'm stuck. A small poor quality picture is just not enough to help me figure out this step. I'm frustrated and unhappy that poorly written instructions are keeping me from enjoying my purchase. I'm sure once that part is sorted out and I can test it for a test drive I'll be happier, until then it will make a nice yard ornament.
Nice wagon for our 25lb Ewok
We bought this to bring our 25lb Ewok with us when we go on longer bike rides. He seems to like it we just had to put a few blankets in the bottom for comfort and he either sits up and looks around or lays down and enjoys the ride. Seems to be pretty stable. You have to be careful not to turn to fast or sharp (especially if there is a little curb to) or you could risk tipping but if you drive normal and make sure you take wider turns like you should with a trailer then all should be fine. My 8 year old love to hook it up to his bike and pull our dog so the trailer is not too heavy and rolls well. So far after about 4 months with this we're still very pleased with the purchase.
Great for hauling' your dog!
We invested in a couple e-bikes this year, but had to come up with a way to bring our pooch with us. She is 9, lots of energy, but can't run like that any more. She still isn't terribly keen on hopping in, but is learning it might lead to a wet destination, and that makes it worthwhile. It tows like a dream, easily fold up, very compact, and lots of air flow to keep her cool. She likes the open top to greet people on the way by. BTW, scope out a 20" lawn chair cushion and shorten as needed. It will fit perfectly! I highly recommend this to anyone looking to haul their dog with them! It is a great product!
Good trailer with lots of features.
Purchased this after another model finally wore out after 8 years. The new model has a lot of features and assembles / breaks down very quick and easy. Several features I like such as dual front cover (screen and plastic wind break), as well as side screens, front and rear doors top door, overall size for a 50 lb golden doodle. Have only used it a few times and so far it works very well. I'm concerned about longevity and so going to add another strap underneath for more support than just the one that came with it. Also going to put something else down on the floor to spread out the load, such as a plastic sheet, and then a large moving blanket. The new trailer does have a place to hook a leash on the inside, and the top cover can be zipped up for shade. It's very well ventilated which I think is a big plus over the older model I had from another company. Otherwise, it's a solid trailer and working out well so far.
Looks good, challenging to build
This product is all good and I have confidence that it will do the job for which I bought it for (I have as yet not road tested it) The principle purpose of this review is to bring to other would be buyers the heads up on what can only be described as ¡°token¡± assembly instructions!! Whilst not difficult to work out what needs to be done, the physicality of it is another challenge all together.Good luck with stretching the fabric to get the poles to come together as required. This will certainly save you a work out at the gym!!!Now it¡¯s up, all looks good
HAPPY OLD DOG!
Not too bad to assemble, no instructions but fairly obvious. Think they could¡¯ve fitted reflectors as that¡¯s fiddly and wouldn¡¯t have affected packaging. Wanted it to go behind my Quad bike for my ageing sheep dog for when he gets tired when rounding up sheep. Very good value and cheaper than secondhand ones advertised on FB groups! I had to extend the draw bar to stop exhaust fumes getting in his face. He¡¯s a very big dog but just fits in. Can open the top hatch for him to put his head out also.
Great for medium-sized dogs!
I love this pet carrier! I carry two dogs, both around 12 lbs. comfortably. One is a Jack Russell, the other is a Chihuahua/Jack Russell, so they're not tiny, but not huge either. The floor is solid, and I put a crate pad and blanket on the bottom for them because they're both 14 years old, and it makes the ride softer. I like that I can break it down because it's much easier to store and transport. I had no problem putting it together, and didn't find the directions until after I had completed assembly.
Great trailer for great price!
I love this! My pups were scared at first but they got used to it and love going on rides. It's huge and fits my two dogs with room to spare. One dog is a 25 lb chihuahua/cocker spaniel mix while the other is an 19 lb terrier mix. They can easily sit and lay down side by side. Easy assembly and easily disassembled to pack it in the car or to store it. Seems to ride pretty smoothly for the dogs' comfort. Also, it is easy to tow on your bike so don't worry about it being too strenuous. I researched multiple trailers both cheaper and more expensive but I'm glad I went with this one! I will suggest that you get a mat or bed to put on the bottom (folded blankets work just as well if you don't have or want to buy one) so that your pup(s) are more comfortable.
Buy it - you'll Love it!
Attractive -Sturdy- roomy- strong tires - stays upright if bike falls over- handles corners well, even the ones I thought were sharp. Took one star off Only because I wish the wheels folded flat. Because they don't, and because they're so big I can't fit in trunk of my Volvo S80 and have to put in back seat. I love it though and am having great adventures with my two little doggies. Buy it - you won't regret!
great product. attention to detail
my first impression is that this is a great product. assembly was very easy and intuitive. the instructions are just a bunch of pictures. the kotter pins are easy to manipulate with a safety wire to keep them in place.the canvas had velcro to roll the vinyl and mesh in any configuration open/closed-mesh vinyl. there were holes already punched to put the reflectors on.the wheels attach very easily and could be removed easily too.
Good product for the price, good seller
I bought this trailer after trying out a smaller Schwinn model. This one is better for our purposes. Our dog isn't quite 50 lbs, so this works well. It's a bit wider and longer than the Schwinn, but most importantly it's noticeably taller. Our dog can sit upright and maneuver. The frame is stronger and the skin seems to be sturdy enough, so far. It's also heavier, of course. I have to work harder, but I don't think it'll kill me. The Schwinn has better hardware design for attaching to my bike. The Aosom attachment could be designed better to disallow pivoting against the bike frame. I asked the seller about it and they were quick to respond. If you have issues try to resolve them through the seller first. They will help best they can.
Suprised
I purchased the carriage about four months ago and finally decided to put it together. The instructions are awful! I understand that they are trying to save money however if someone isn't mechanically inclined they will have a hard time assembling the Pet carrier. The carrier itself is awesome. My dog was a little skeptical at first however, after riding a couple of miles he settled in an enjoyed the ride. We purchased the carrier because we felt guilty leaving him home when we'd go for a ride. My dog weighs approximately 30 pounds and I felt it after approximately three miles. I will update my review after 30 days.
I LOVE THIS TRAILER!
I'm a 57 years old woman and this trailer is great. It arrived fast from . It had no chemical odors like some products do that come from overseas. It was easy to pop up, put together, and then super easy to attach to my bike. I ride a woman's Giant. I purchased this trailer 3 months back as I gave up my car for debt reduction purposes and I live in the country(so no public transportation.)I grocery shop, pick-up packages from the post office, ride to get my hair cut, and my little dachshund travels with me as riding a bike takes a lot longer to run errands than riding a bike and she does not like to stay home:)))
