The absolute best

I just bought a new one. My old one was 33 years old. A LOT of apple sauce and apple pies., apple strudels. Then alas , it finally lots it's suction. I will give this one to my daughter when I die. Great invention trouble free. I have lots of arthritis in my hands so this is a flat out blessing

Overall happy with my purchase

Pretty nice item. It is built super Durable. Thou the clamp is too narrow to fit on a counter top. Peels a little too much, but I really don't care if, I have to peel a lot of potatoes. And it seems to peel small potatoes best. Tried peeling and coring apples and it works, but peels away too much apple, or not enough, but I will say if you need to peel and core alot of apples, I'd use this.. The blades are very sharp, and adjust very easily. Overall happy with my purchase. I do recommend it, if you have alot of potatoes or apples to process.

Not happy at the moment.

The outside box was in good shape. The product box was in bad shape, mashed and torn. I purchased the peeler for a gift so we haven't tried it yet. The packing slip also had a shipping and handling fee of $699.00! Waiting to hear from the company.

Great apple peeler/corer!

Great product! Great Price! Easy to order and pick up at store. Also it arrived sooner than expected. Me and the wife have processed hundreds of apples so far and has made the peel and core much easier and faster. Only thing is it does loosen after some use but just an easy retighten. Well made. Sturdy.

Awesome product!

I own one myself and with 3 little girls loving apples and not the seeds and skin at the same time this is my life saver!!!! Quick easy 123 done! Peeled and cored apples have never been easier and more satisfying!

Apple slicer, great, apple peeler, not so.

I wanted it to slice and core apples for the dehydrator. It works beautifully. But I can not get it to peel apples. Perhaps if my apples were all even it would work, but since I want the apples with peelings I gave this a four star rating.

Amazing

I peeled, sliced, and cored 7 large apples in 5 minutes. When by hand it takes me more then a half hour. wish someone would have told me about a peeler long ago.

Quality built

Of all the other peelers I looked at, this is the best quality and craftsmanship of them all. Not knowing how well this peeler was constructed, I drove around for a couple hours looking at others and never bought them because they all looked so cheap and some like they were ready to rust even before use. Back-to-Basics is definitely one of a kind and worth the extra $ if you have seen others cheaper and thought of buying them.

Great little tool...

This apple peeler worked really well. It works excellent on the crisp apples. The apples I had were a little too ripe and the peeler didn't work too well. That was my fault because I left them too long. I did have some crisper apples and the peeler zipped right through them. I would recommend this little tool. It works well and it doesn't cost a lot.

Works perfectly

After the reviews i read on this product i was a little apprehensive, But it did what it was made to do, as long as its lined up before you start it works great. Made enough pie filling apple slices for 10 pies in less than 15 min, hand peeling is in my past, as long as i have this. My table will not work for this cause of its design, But i put some shrink wrap on a chair seat, (to keep the juices out of the wood) and attach it there hand tight and it works great.

Just what I wanted!

Not so good on potatoes. Clamp much better than suction on some models. I oil screw before storage to prevent rust. Bought this for my daughter at her request after using mine for years.

Sturdy item

Good for apples, potatoes, not so much! Takes a larger amount of potato off than I would like.

YAY!!!

I had to replace an old apple corer, peeler, slicer. It was easy to find ones that were flimsy. This one has a sturdy construction.

clamp-on apple peeler

The clamp on part works well, but the pealer really does not it either takes too much apple or skips half the apple and only peeles some of it. Not worth the money. I tried all the ajustments with no sucess. Don't buy this one. Very dissapointed

This product is a fairly good representation of my Grandmother's apple peeler. It is heavy, a cheery red color, connects solidly with the countertop and cleans easily. For us, and my spouse is a Master Mechanic, this peeler was unsatisfactory for the following reasons:

Not worth the money spent

This is a great, sturdy peeler but when it comes to the peeler staying in place, it's nearly impossible. I used fresh picked apples and when I 'screwed' the peeler to the side of the table it would slip and slide all over the place, making it less than effective. I thought maybe I just didn't have it tight enough, but even after having my husband try it, it would slide. I ended up buying the suction base apple peeler (same brand) and that one has worked great! I would reccommend spending the extra few bucks and buying one with a suction base.
