Bolt snapped in half while hand tightening

I bought a 10-pack of these and a 10-pack of the Cobra Parawedge 1/2" x 4.25" concrete anchors. On only the second bolt from this pack that I used, it broke cleanly while I was hand tightening it with a manual socket wrench. These bolts are not really 1/2". The shell that they are contained in is 1/2". If you're drilling 1/2" holes into your concrete to take these anchors, understand that the actual bolt inside the shell is 3/8". Only buy the Cobra Parawedge anchors - those worked great!

These work well and stay secure. Drilling the 1/2 inch hole in concrete is not fun but once that is done then just drop in the bolt and tighten it down.

Waste of time

Packaging states this anchor is suitable for concrete, and to use a 1/2” bit. After drilling holes 1/2” in diameter to the specified depth, they will not go in without force. This expanded them prematurely and deformed the head of the anchor. Trying to work the bit side to side to increase the hole diameter slightly was still not enough. Removing these half installed anchors is more work than the whole project should have been.

These are easy to use, a little on the pricey side, but they are very strong.

they work great, the only thing to keep in mind...

they work great, the only thing to keep in mind is there is no forgiveness on depth if the hole is drilled too shallow. you have to over drill in order for these to work the way they are supposed to.
