Little thing - Big helper!
Love this little hot handle holder that I bought 2 weeks ago.
Not totally heat proof
I’ve used this for about two weeks. It’s ok in the sense that it blocks heat, however your fingers can still get burned if you leave it on for too long while frying burger patties over high heat. Not too hot too handle but not comfortable eighter.
This is essential to use with our cast iron Lodge skillets as the handle gets very hot.
Very misleading
I was very excited to get these and use them on my brand new set of Lodge cast-iron. It was extremely disappointing to only receive one when the picture shows two. Very disappointed very misleading!! But other than that, it’s still a good product
Every Cast Iron needs one
No more ouch thats hot when you go to grab your cast iron pots handle. This slides right on, stays on well and protects your precious fingers from that blazing hot metal.
This is exactly what I was looking for
I have a few pot holders that fit on my cast iron pans but they are old and a bit burnt. I was so happy to find this silicone handle holder.
Deceptive Ad Tactics
The online photo shows 2 handles, the title description says “Handles” plural, and the price is twice what they sell for on Amazon — so I was definitely expecting 2 handles.
No more cumbersome potholders needed!
Keeps your hand from burning when cooking with a cast iron pan. It fits tightly and securely.
An essential item!
An essential must have for hot handles on cast iron! I can’t imagine using my pans without it now. Easy to wash and fits a small, medium and large pan handle with ease.
The closer you get to the pan the hotter it gets
I bought this product thinking it would keep my hands cool. First I put the handle on with the hole down, this burnt the crap out of my hand. That little hole exposed the hot part of the handle to my finger, OUCH! So, I flipped it and tried again. While I didn't burn myself this time, it still got really hot the closer I got to the pan. A pair of mittens works much better.
BEWARE!
BEWARE! This item can get very hot if used during the cooking process which is noted in the description. I recommend not putting it on the skillet handle until you are ready to move it off the burner
Greatest invention
I bought this for my elderly dad who’s been using a paper towel with his very old cast iron pan. Rather than having a fire caused by the paper towel I felt it was safer for him to have one of these
I never knew these existed until I saw them on Wayfair! What an ingenious solution for handling hot iron skillets.
okay design
It has a tendency to slide around on every cast iron skillet I own. The shape should be narrower and straighter so it can mold to the handle, especially when heated. You at least don't need grandma's knitted handles that get discusting after a while.
Great handle cover
Fits a variety of cast iron handle sizes. Works great! One of the best products we've tried for our cast irons. worth every penny.
No More Hot Hands!
So far this is working well as it really beats using potholders! It does seem to be a bit loose on the handle of a 10" skillet however and my concern is if it will slip off when lowering the pan into its storage drawer after cleaning??
Cast iron handle cover
Love that it comes in red (my fave color) and it keeps your hand from getting burnt in the cooking process. That being said, it doesn’t fit the handle that well and is more of a pain when picking up the pan to turn it. My trusty ol oven mitt did a far better job. It’s a good idea, but I wouldn’t waste my money for this product.
Doesn’t stay on
I understand idea of silicon handle holder but it doesn’t work with the same brand pan. I don’t really understand why. Not a fan
Is not very non-slip
As the lodge cast irons are decently heavy, unfortunately you need to have a death grip on the holder in order for it to not slip when picking up the cast iron. Especially difficult/impossible when the cast iron is hot. I was hopeful these would work great but I will no longer be using the 2 that I bought.
WARNING!!!
Proceed with caution. I couldn't wait to use my cast iron skillet handle holder. Got out my trusty 10 inch skillet and loved the feel on the handle while I was using it on the stove. Then I had to drain the skillet. I had checked it out because when I first put it on it wasn't very tight. Then I noticed it had ridges on the inside. When it comes to cast iron nobody knows it better than Lodge. I assumed it would heat up while I was using it on the stove, then it would grip the handle and I could move it from the stove to the kitchen sink using the skillet handle. Well, maybe that wasn't exactly what they planned. Luckily as it began to slip off the handle I was still close enough to the stove to swing around and put it down. It won't even stay on if you hold the silicone skillet handle with a silicone cooking glove. That puppy is going to come off. I wound up doing what I have always done. First I tossed the handle cover on the counter. I got out my silicone cooking gloves, put one the bare handle, carried the skillet to the sink, used the other glove to balance the side of the skillet. So far I haven't retrieved the handle cover yet. I will because it works good while you are cooking but it's not meant for carrying.
