Damaged, instructions were poor. We had to go online and the video we found was just as bad. Finally got it up, it tilts. I’m trying to get in touch with customer service to get a refund or a new unit.

Great looking addition to the deck

The shipping was fast, it shipped the next day, everything complete. The assembly was straight forward (I did look at u-tube video before I bought it). Inserting the spline into the fabric is easy if you line up everything in a straight line. I put it together by myself but had help putting it up. (it is 13 ft. long)

Great product for that price.

Lowe’s will not install

I initially bought this product to install myself. I felt it was a little more than I can do so I called Lowe’s and they tell me they don’t install retractable awnings, yet they advertise they can install their products. Probably not he most difficult thing in the world but more than so can do, I will likely return this item.

I like it an it matches the color of my house

I'm rating my 12 foot Aleko manual crank awning in dark gray with five stars because the value is amazing. It functions as desired so I'm very happy. Since mine is new, I do not know how well it with endure over many seasons of use, however I will take mine down and store it over the winters. My only caution is with the instructions. They should be more detailed regarding the placement of the mounts relative to the arms which need clearance for tilt adjustment.

Retractable awning

Looks good and works great. Followed instructions and easy to assemble. Mounted to concrete block home with supplied mounting hardware, but included anchoring epoxy for secure mounting.

The roller guide made it impossible to fit the square metal holder to get fitted into the middle u anchor. It also made it very difficult to get it into the 2 side u anchors.

Nice small awning attached to gazebo side for extra shade. Altho, it was rather difficult to assemble, we finally did it.

Impossible to install. Broke after 1 year.

It took us hundreds of dollars to get this installed by 2 construction professionals (took them all day to figure out). We used it happily for one year. It got incredibly sun-faded and then broke after one year of use. Extremely disappointing lesson learned.

Did not work in our space. It costs as much in shipping to return as the cost of the awning.

Horrible installation instructions

Parts were missing in the original shipment.

Doesn't close properly.

Several of the pre-drilled holes did not line up and had to be redrilled. I'm an experienced person used to complicated instructions and complex parts installation. While for the most part the instructions and drawings were reasonably clear, a few were simply wrong. Operated the awning twice. The 3rd attempt it would not roll straight. You could get it almost all the way closed with force but only with it bunched up and skewed to one side. Chinese product. Poor operation if operates at all is to be expected.

Have been using a ez up for a cook station. They would last one or two sessions. Decided to give the 12ft Aleko a try. So far the option of quick open an roll up is far better. For the cost and ease of operation it’s a much better option. Assembly was straight forward with a lot of on line video tips available. Do be aware if you order Trough HD it comes in two packages tracking only followed one of the two I my case requiring two trips to the store. Only down side might be with the fabric used. It is a sun shade and states such as not made to use in the rain nor would it support the weight. I use support posts in my situation and as fabric starts to get older will look into a more durable fabric.

not roof mount as misleading picture shows

I think the awning itself is ok. Picture showed is mounted on the roof. I assumed that was correct. It was the reason we bought two of these. When the installer came, we were told it was not roof mount without brackets. Called Aleko and was lectured on doing my consumer due diligence. I read everything on the description. No where did it say roof mount sold seperately. Had to order 4 ceiling mounts @ $29. each. Installer came again and we were told there are 3 Brackets on each awning. Had to order 2 more, 6 total at $29each. When I receive the last 2, that will make 3 trips from installer to finish this job. Customer service needs to do their due diligence and take the misleading ad off the websites they advertise on.

No I was not able to get approved from the HOA because of the material so I returned it unopened

Beautiful awnings

Although I have not put these awnings up as of this time I am sure they will be perfect for my needs. While investigating awnings I took the time to read and compare each in how they were to be mounted and how they extended to the full length. These were what I had been looking for and I'm sure I will be pleased with the end result.
