The desk is very solid and is exactly as described.

Desk came with the metal bent and the melamine damaged in the corners. It was definitely a shipping issue, not Wayfairs. Wayfair replaced for free and the replacement came 99 in good shape. My 18 year old put the desk together easily by himself. The package is very heavy and needs two people to move but the individual parts are light enough for one person. I would recommend putting it together in the room you will be using it in. The top wiggled and squeaked in the frame and we had to add some rubber washers to make it more stable and stop the squeaking. Would not pay full price for this, but for the sale price, it gets the job done and looks decent. The desktop is large enough for his xbox console, a flat screen tv and still has room for him to do work on his laptop.

Echoing what everyone else on here said: it's a great sturdy desk that is easy to put together. The quality difference is key: this thing feels built for a construction trailer or something - it can handle a lot of stuff being thrown at it (literally / figuratively). I have it in my guest bedroom and I identified a need to be able to roll the whole setup into a corner when folks are visiting. Put rolling casters on and it was tough to track down what size I needed. I went to home depot and tested the threads - it's an "M8" size thread. If you go this route I'd get a wide flat washer to help dissipate the weight a bit - I didn't do this and regret it. Anyway great desk!

This is the perfect desk. Perfect fit and it's the perfect height. Reasonable price too!

Functional but not great quality. Came roughed up and several blemishes. Took way too long to put together. I wouldn’t recommend this desk. The overall quality does not match the price at all.

The first desk was damaged badly so I got a replacement. Replacement arrived quickly and there were a few scratches but it was the delivery people who messed the box up. I was to cover the scratches with furniture repair market and you can’t see it. Overall I love the desk it looks good and it is very sturdy

Definitely not a $500 desk. Glad I didn't pay full price. Came with damage to metal and veneer.

Top was Damaged

Top was damaged. Still awaiting a response from Shoplet on a replacement for this. I have been a customer for years and this is the first time I have had an issue, so I would like to be able to edit this review and say that the top was replaced and all is well.

Nearly unheard of in prefab furniture, this desk is VERY easy to assemble. Parts total only 5 pieces and like 8 screws, 4 bolts. PROTIP: Get a stubby screwdriver for four of them. It's VERY compact width was the reason I got it and it's doing what I need it to do. Very sturdy, office quality materials. I'll be tightening screws soon but it seems like I have to shim the top so it doesn't have a slight wiggle to it. I guess it's how they keep it from being marred since the top is made to be reversible (dark wood light wood)with the removal of four little bolts. I like it but don't love it but am sure it will grow on me in time. At the very least it seems spacious compared to the one it replaces.
