Nice lighting

I was looking to outline my outdoor pergola because my filament bulbs were sometimes not enough to light the space when we had more guest going outside and little children were around. The ribbon flex is a nice solution to get more lighting. This is not a plug and play set and you will need to purchase additional connections to get the light on. Currently, I have it connected with solar light using a battery pack, but I am planning on connecting it to a power source and a dimmer for times when I don't need it to be too bright. The instructions were okay to get what you need done, but you are on your own to get the light on.

Great light for Dark Workspaces

Light solution for sewing workspace or other crafts was needed, as it was just too dark. The ribbon LED tape provides an excellent controllable light coverage for the entire countertop. While the end results is great, a couple of "learning" steps did happen along the way. First comes the type of LED tape/ribbon to be used. I should have spent more time on Armacost's WEB site, which has excellent videos on their products and "how to install" those products. Because I was installing in a laundry room, I did have some concerns with moisture. The IP67 tape is rated for a wet environment, being well made and coated to protect the LED strip. Their other LED tapes would work well in a shop or kitchen area. By reviewing power requirements, I selected a transformer, reducing the 120 AC outlet to the LED strip 24 DC voltage. I added a remote controller to turn the LED tape on/off and providing a dimmer capability. Next installation point comes in corners for the LED tape, which does not "bend". Armacost offers several options to splice the LED tape, all of which are easily to install - just need to ensure the polarity is matched for the LED tape. Please do follow the surface cleaning instructions prior to placing the tape in position. I found the adhesive does hold the LED tape in place well, but at splice points, I added wire support loops to doubly ensure they stayed up.

Variety of Uses for the Tape Light

We love this type of lighting that can go on steps, fences, railings, etc. It is quite flexible and is dimmable, plus you can link one to another, similar to Christmas-tree bulbs. They come in a variety of temperatures, and work with a standard 120-volt wall dimmer. Notice the one picture that shows the 3M red tape on the back. It is a strong tape so lay out your project before you just start putting it up because it sticks very well. It also as a spot-free seamless glow so not interruptions on the lighting. Great for under cabinets!

Game changing product!

This RibbonFlex strip lighting is a real game changer for under the cabinet lighting. It is the easiest product I have worked with for making custom length lighting! The tape itself comes in a handy spindle and is strong, yet flexible and comes with pre-attached double back tape for a very fast installation. Included with this kit is one cable connector which allows you to connect two strips together, making easy to turn corners or bridge and area. The strip itself is simple to work with, as you can cut it through the copper connectors which are located every 6 1/2" along the the ribbon. Note that you will need to buy the power adapter for these as they can not be wired directly to a standard outlet.
