Timberchic Gets a #1 Rating

Timberchic’s Fog Lake product is an exceptional value. The fact that is reclaimed from old logging timbers is a great conversation piece, in addition to being environmentally responsible.

It's finished! I love my new office and I completed the wood wall in one day by myself. I laid out all the planks in size piles and that made the process go very quickly with very little waste. What a great company, what a beautiful product. Now I have a little bit of Maine in Hill Country, Texas!

We are not usually the do-it-yourself type but with lots of encouragement from Jamie at Maine Heritage Timber we decided to give it a go. We spent some time getting our first row level but then it went along so easily. We are thrilled with the results!!

Great Product!

WOW!!! What a difference these made in the area under our kitchen island/nook. It was a little more time consuming that expected, however it was well worth the time and effort. The wood planks are well made and easy to cut. I would recommend to anyone.

We were two homeowners looking to take on a fun project and this product was absolutely amazing to work with. But even above that was the customer service we received from start to finish. The online tutorial was essential and gave us the confidence to tackle this accent wall in our house. The J roller was so fun to use but the inherent “stickiness” on the back of each piece was SO STRONG. I absolutely recommend this company for a great experience and an even better design solution. It’s so simple literally anyone would have great success adding the texture and dimension to their walls.

As a designer for a project on a high profile network, I needed a product that would be high impact for both real life and the screen. We were working on a waterfront cottage that needed some custom touches. It looks so much more expensive than it is and since it is COMPLETELY doable for a novice diy-er, taking any paid labor out of the equation was a major win for the budget. Fog lake was an obvious choice to reflect the lakeside surroundings - it is such a beautiful and unique color on top of an amazing natural texture. I am aware of many “faux plank” wall products and so I was apprehensive until I could touch and see the quality of the samples. Real wood makes all the difference and would elevate any design scheme. So happy can’t wait to use timberchic on another project soon!

Had this professionally installed (black ice color). I would not recommend this product in this color. There are physical holes in it that do not have knots and the black stain is not evenly distributed in others. The quality is overall terrible and The amount you get is cost restrictive. I am only buying more because I need to finish the project but it has by far been my biggest regret. Will try to save the look by filling in the random missing holes and trying to stain the uneven portions. The adhesive is nice but probably makes sense if it’s being installed by yourself.

Beautiful accent wall for fireplace

Used this as accent wall for our tall fireplace. Have gotten numerous compliments. I had it professionally installed due to tall wall. They used liquid nails to reinforce it and then we used a trim as a border. I love it. Attached is a before and after photo.

1st time using these planks I had the help of our contractor. They went up fast and easy. While I thought I would be intimidated and overly worried with getting it right it was really easy. The challenge seems to be which plank do you want to use next. I saved my favorite planks for locations at or near eye level. This wall is on our main entryway and looks stunning! We have placed a 2nd order to do a bathroom wall with plans to do a wall in our sunroom soon. Great product and customer service! I highly recommend these without reservation.

Have had the River Planks on our kitchen peninsula for 3 years now. As time has passed, the color variations in the wood have changed. When I look at past photos I remember the vibrant contrast between gray, light, and dark planks that inspired the project in the first place. Now, the peninsula doesn't *pop* as the planks have all darkened to a medium golden yellow.

Bought these planks for my teenage son’s room. The colors are absolutely beautiful. Although this project was indeed costly, the outcome was perfect. Definitely an investment in my home. Placing the edges in was a bit tricky, for a non-handy person but we got it done. Highly recommend.

Fun and easy covering

I only used one package, which is only 10 sq ft (2ft x 5ft or ~3x3ft) but just enough for a small "reading" nook area in a corner of a room. I imagine this could also work nicely for covering other small projects or areas (doors, cabinets, sides of a cabinet, etc) or even a whole wall. Application is very easy with double stick foam tape already applied. Just peel off the backing strips and press to your surface. It may help to apply pressure with a roller, or just use a towel or something to press against the surface and slide around. THey come lightly finished so I think they should be stain resistant.

Lightweight beautiful wall planks

These are very lightweight due to the thickness (~1/8"), and each has 3 strips of adhesive tape on the back that makes the easy to apply but sets them about 1/16" away from the wall. The colors and sizes are a good mixture, and I like the knots that were on some. Unfortunately I didn't like the holes that were in three pieces, as the wall color showed through those holes; I'll need to take a small paintbrush and darken the wall color where those holes are. There was also one piece that had a wierd, almost rotten look, that I didn't use. Overall I'm very happy with the look and ease of application, but they are pretty expensive so it hurts when you leave some pieces out due to their finish.

Just what I needed

I’m going to be using these on a counter top, rather than on a wall. The lady of the house wants to redo the kitchen island to make it more rustic. Her initial request was for me to use reclaimed, aged, pallet wood. That would have taken a lot of time and effort to plane and cut them down to exact specs to perfectly match. These are already cut to exact widths. This job will be a lot easier. No pressure washing, sanding, etc. Already clean and ready to go.

Recommended with a couple of reservations

This review is for the Timberchic 3-in x 1-ft River Planks Fir Reclaimed wood Wall Plank. To be fair I’m not a big fan of peel and stick flooring/planks, etc. and they’ve chosen to use adhesive strips that have a layer of foam preventing the plank from laying completely flat on the wall, ceiling, etc. – wherever you plan to apply them. In our application we used molding to cover the very slight height difference, which is probably what most folks will use (you can purchase edging/finishing pieces from Timberchic that match the finish). You can actually see the foam and touch the adhesive through the larger knot holes however, they have provided black adhesive dots that you can use to hide the knots; after removing that section of the adhesive foam. It sounds strange, but watch the “Hiding Knots” video on the manufacturer’s website.

Good for Craft Projects! A Little Spendy

Couldn't wait to see this in person. It looks really great on the projects they used it for online. I was a bit disappointed at how thin the wood planks were when I got it. I guess that makes it a lot easier to hang on a wall though. The colors were well represented in the online photos. I don't personally have a wall that this would work for, but it will be great for craft projects. I'm not sure if the cost is appropriate for what you get. It's a very minimal amount of wood and if you just bought several stains I think you could achieve the same look yourself for a lot less.

Interesting product

I like the look of the wood that comes with this kit. It adds a certain rustic feel to the room. It's very easy to peel and stick in virtually any place that you desire. However, make sure that you are certain f were you are placing them. This is 1 and done application. You won't be able to easily remove the product without damaging your wall surface and/or the product itself. The planks are a little flimsy so don't bend or try to pry them off either.

So Beautiful!

We live in a high ranch house with an entrance wall that is very difficult to paint. I figured Timberchic would be a permanent solution to my problem. We ordered 7 boxes (4” plank). The wall came out beautiful. It has such depth and texture now. It was easy to install as well, even to accommodate our curved ceiling. I had a few planks that didn’t go with our overall design intent so I emailed the company. They were extremely helpful. They told me to send back the ones I couldn’t use (at their expense) and sent me replacements within the week. Great product and wonderful customer service.
