Hinge to lean back too tight.

I like the chair, My 2nd one. The first one the seat material started to come apart. The new one came with back hinge support is very tight even after max adjustment. Hard to lean back. Ended up installing the old hinge into the new chair. Without my old hinge, I may have had to return the chair. Good back support. Comfortable.

Don't judge a chair by its bonded leather

I just bought my second one of these chairs, a black one this time the first was brown. the first was bought around 8 years ago. As other reviewers stated the bonded leather finish did indeed peel off, but for me it didn't start until maybe 4-5 years after purchasing the 1st chair, that's a long time.. When it started, I put a xlarge chair cover on it, it continues to peel. the seat is nearly bare now, but that chair is still the absolute most comfortable chair. It's not getting tossed. I hope the new ones bonded leather finish does last as long as the first chairs but even if it peels sooner I'll slap a chair cover on it and not mind a bit even at the price it's at because these are the most comfortable chairs I have ever sat it especially after it's been broke in a bit. I'm a 5'4" female and I tend to sit cross legged in my chair I can sit that way for ages. If you put some sort of conditioner on the chair it may help the bonded leather last longer but I never did.

Worst product

One of the worst products I’ve ever encountered. After just a few months, the faux leather began peeling, leaving the surface looking cheap and worn out. To make matters worse, a powdery residue started sticking to my clothes, which was not only frustrating but also embarrassing. For the price, I expected much better quality. I would strongly advise against buying this product unless you’re okay with replacing it soon after purchase.

Big and Comfortable. 6 Years Daily Use.

Bought Sept 2018. Very comfortable. THIS IS A TASK CHAIR, NOT A LOUNGE. If you want to lean back and rest your head, get a couch or go to bed. That said, the chair can tilt back for those times when you want to do so, but for safety reasons, the back is bolted to the seat with a steel 'L' bracket, so you cannot tilt JUST the back. I tested several other chairs and picked this one because unlike many others, this one does not bother the underside of my thighs. It is as comfortable for long sitting periods as the seat of my car. It encourages better back posture and can be lowered to avoid sore neck caused by "forward head." My only reason for getting another chair in Nov 2024 is that the "leather" began to flake off around the arms and the small of the back, leaving bare white patches of white fabric that probably could have been remedied using automotive leather repair. Also, you should know that this chair is BIG, designed for big and tall people, so it can be heavy and cumbersome to carry through narrow doorways. As a big chair for a big man, I found it to be very good.

[Rewarded Review] Horrible product!

I bought this chair a little less than 2 years ago. Paid $400 for something that is literally disintegrating. The seat cushion is flaking very bad. This chair is hardly used. I do not recommend this chair to anyone considering how cheaply made the seating material is with such a high price tag. Warranty reads material is only covered for one year. So I’m basically out of luck and out $400! SERTA needs to do better for its customers and unacceptable for Office Depot to sell something at this price point that doesn’t even last 2 yrs. Do better

Most Comfortable office chair I have ever owned.

due to a medical situation I was required to work from home. Started looking for a comfortable chair as i would be spending a good portion of my day in it. This chair is very comfortable and has held up pretty well. I have been trying to get some help with replacing the wearing arm pads, but have had very little luck with getting a response. Will be honest, sent another request just before posting this review, so hoping for the best. Do I recommend this chiar? Yes very much so, absolutely love it.

Long-lasting comfort!

I purchased this chair around 9 months ago, and I must say it has exceeded my expectations. It's soft yet firm, and the comfort level has remained consistent. Despite the lack of lumbar support, which is why I rated it 4 stars, the overall comfort has not been compromised. Unlike my previous gaming chair, which lost its cushioning quickly, this chair has maintained its shape and support even with daily use; it's like sitting on a big, puffy cloud, making it perfect for a quick nap. I highly recommend this chair as a must-have for any office.

[Rewarded Review] Something is rotten here!

I bought this chair in January 2019 and it's been a very comfortable chair all-in-all. However, the warranty or the employees are a joke. Two years after I purchased the chair, the insert in the chair back, where the arm bolt attaches, broke loose from the wood so that the arm wiggles and cannot be tightened. I called the warranty number with all the info in hand only to be told the armrests are not part of the warranty. I told the guy it wasn't the armrest but the insert in the back and was then told that's part of the armrest so it's not covered either. Really! The warranty person I dealt with was either a liar or the warranty is a scam. Anyway I have a chair that squeaks and creaks like crazy if I lean on the arm. Now the lift ram is going out and I'm sure that's not part of the chair either. It's just plain bad business to treat your customers like this.

They sent the wrong item.

I tried out just about every chair in one of the box stores before I purchased it online. I decided to go ahead and order it because it was about $100ish or so dollars cheaper online at the time. It arrived and I didn’t assemble it for a few weeks until I got back in town. All of the boxes say Serta on them, but I didn’t check the smaller text. Come to find out after I’d assembled everything and threw the box away, I noticed the chair was completely different from in the store. They sent the”Arlington”instead of the big and tall Hensley. I was like ah man, Serta’s regular chairs are made for people under 5’7. The headrest comes up to the middle of my shoulder blades. Essentially it’s a waste of money, but I’ll give it to one of my children. It’s easier just to go to the box store and pick it up so that mistake will be avoided. The actual Big and Tall Hensley chair is comfortable. The regular Arlington is not.

[Rewarded Review] Wobbly and annoying

Bought this chair a few weeks ago and finally set it up. It is a wobbly piece of garbage. Seat and back cushions are both awesome, but the chair will not sit level. I flipped it over and the part that is moving is not a part you touch during installation, this is just simply not a well designed chair. VERY disappointing, especially considering the price

Chair is fine, return policy is terrible!

Chair wasn't a full comfortable fit. Build quality was fine, and for someone smaller, it would have worked fine. I scheduled a return and their return policy is to have the customer pay for the return. The chair was $280, the return was going to cost $160! Terrible return policy. Won't ship here again

Very Squeaky

For the the most part I like the feel of the chair. It's a little big for me as a 5'10" male, but I really like the cushions. However, after a few months of use I noticed the arm rests starting to get loose. Also, the chair squeaks very loud when I lean back. That could be a result of poor assembly on my part, but I followed the instuctions to a tee. I don't have any WD-40 on hand to see if that would make a difference. That will be my next attempt at salvaging this chair. Not worth $500 imo!

Customer Service! REALLY!

My chair was missing a simple plastic (M-1) screw cover. I went to extraordinary lengths and spent hours trying to get a replacement part. I'm very disappointed by the lack of customer support!!!

Falling apart already

for a chair, the cost over $400, you would expect better quality. You would also expect it to be shipped in one piece. Especially with the raise that UPS drivers just got. The package arrived in bad condition to begin with. And I had to request replacement parts from the company to replace literally all the parts of the chair. The replacement parts came, and are already starting to fall apart. This chair has been used for less than one month. I highly recommend finding a different chair, and honestly getting it from somewhere other than ODB.

[Rewarded Review] Perfectly Soothing Chair

I've been watching this chair for some time and when it went on sale I just couldn't resist in buying it. The chair was easy to put together and the instructions were easy to understand. The chair itself is very comfortable, well made and is a great chair to sit in for long periods of time. I spend a lot of time behind my computer and this chair by far has met all my expectations. Serta is a brand I'm very familiar with and I know the quality of the material used in building this chair is by far the best I've seen in chairs of this type. I would greatly recommend this chair to anyone who sits behind their computer for long periods of time. Excellent product. I would definitely buy this chair again. This chair does come with a 10 Year warranty.

[Rewarded Review] Most comfortable chair

First off, the extra padding and layers are noticeable and well liked. You sink right into the chair and it seems to reform around your body each time to sit down. It has a tall enough back where a 6’ 1” man can lay their head back. I’ve actually taken a few naps in the chair. There is a couple downsides. First, the caster are cheap and don’t roll well on low pile carpet. Second, the seat cushion seems have a slight downward slope where it kind of makes you feel like you are slide off the chair. Lastly, the tilt could be looser. Even with it cranked to the least resistance you still have to push back while tilting. Other than that it’s worth the buy when it’s on sale.

[Rewarded Review] Retiring this after five and a half years

I bought this chair five and a half years ago. I work from home and have sat in this chair for at least 40 hours a week since I owned it. The right arm can't be made very solid anymore. I tighten it all the way and it is better, but not like new. The faux leather is pealing off in places and the bottom cushion is compressed to the place that I had to add an additional seat cushion to sit on. The gas cyllinder still holds up and no problem with the tilt lever. I got this at 50% off when I bought it so I am not disappointed that I am replacing it after over 5 years. I am a six foot 300 pound man and this chair held up fairly well.
