Nice ceiling tiles

Nice looking foam ceiling tiles, easy to install with glue. Cut best with exacto knife. This brand comes with excellent instruction sheet. Thin and light but look very good when installed.

Lightweight but durable. Easy to install. Using the correct adhesive is a MUST!! We used a SW instant grab product and worked perfectly.

It went up wonderfully. It looks just like the original plaster ceiling in the adjoining room.

These are not firm solid polystyrene like I’ve used for signs in our sign company. They are styrofoam exactly like egg cartons. They tear and damage really easily. Admittedly after being painted and put up on a ceiling, if one is unaware of what they feel like- they look OK. But if they are used on a wall or where people can touch them, they will damage easily and look very cheap.

Overpriced.

I spent almost $1400 on these tiles for a basement remodel. I ordered them online so had not held the product in my hand. They are wafer thin pieces of styrofoam. My contractor could not believe I paid that much for what I received. The product looks good installed but I’m concerned about durability. Ok product at a ridiculous price.

Edges Are Horrible

Our company has ordered hundreds of tiles and never had a problem until now. Customer service rep stated the perforations on one side are not visible and don't harm the look of the ceiling. Based on the pictures from our install, the tiles look like edges are torn all the way across one side. Unfortunately I will not be utilizing tiles from here anymore since customer service said it's common on all tiles ordered. We never had a problem prior to 2021, so they must be using cheap machine company. You can see the more than 100 photos on our social media outlets to judge for yourself. Other than the perforation tiles, the tile ceilings have always looked awesome with a coating of Zinsser to make it look like plaster. Too bad the company did not care and why tiles had drastically changed.

These things are great. We first used these when redoing a camper that had a rotted roof. The camper roof isn’t flat, it has a curve which these nicely formed to. To those complaining these are flimsy foam…read the description, it’s clearly described as such. If you didn’t read it thoroughly you really shouldn’t be complaining. The second time we used these was on a vaulted ceiling at a new room addition at our camp. After sheet rocking the walls the thought of doing the ceiling was not a fun prospect. We did a layer of luan then these tiles. I rolled the paint on mine with a 1/2 nap roller. Wasn’t hard but if you want to save time spray with latex paint. You have to use latex since they’re styrofoam. Just be sure to have a few blades handy though, if blade dulls because you’re cutting on a wood surface you won’t have a clean edge. These tiles are so forgiving if putting over an imperfect ceiling. I love these tiles!

This is a foam product. I was thinking it would have a better finish. It doesn't and paint made it shrivel. So I couldn't paint it. Returned it. I do not recommend this product.

Glue up styrofoam tile.

The plain white, as I ordered, leads one to believe it is primer or something of the sort of white. It is actually styrofoam shiny weird white. It would be different if it was matte or just not raw styrofoam... but it’s not. Really not worth what you have to pay for this. I wouldn’t do it again. I gave it 3 starts instead of less because old school popcorn is also styrofoam beads. Not a new concept, this doesn’t mean it’s the best though. Please at least primer these tiles before they are sold to customers. Then it could be a good thing...

I haven’t tried installing there, but something to know that I did not- these absolutely look like styrofoam. I think painting them will make it look fine but some reviews on foam ceilings said they just put it right up there and unless you and everyone who sees this ceiling has terrible vision, this is not a good plan. But overall I think they will work out great just be a little more effort than expected.

We bought these tiles unpainted

We bought these tiles unpainted and then hand painted each one before installing. They add a beautiful and classy look to what was once a drab boring ceiling. We are already looking forward to buying more of these tiles, in a different style, for another room in our house. This product is such a creative and cost friendly way to elevate your home! Super satisfied

Well Worth the Effort!

I painstakingly painted about 100 Romanesque Wreath tiles 4 times to get the effect that I wanted. Primer, 2 coats of opaque gold paint and a final coat of brown glaze that I mixed up. Took several weeks but the hardest part was absolutely the standing and painting each one separately. The actual installing part was an absolute breeze! Even dealing with a room that was oval. (I came up with an easy way to make a pattern for each edge piece). Came out fabulous!

If you want packing material glued to your ceilings, get these.

These tiles look like packing material. I was really bummed because I had high hopes that they would cover our popcorn ceiling, but it would seriously look like we glued styrofoam to our ceiling. And just like styrofoam, they have a sparkly sheen when the light hits a certain way. So if you think that since they’re high up on the ceiling, and nobody will be close enough to see that they’re not tin, they will see the sparkle sheen that styrofoam has. Thinking maybe they should sell them all prepainted or use a different material that isn’t straight up styrofoam. We decided to go a different route and cover our ceilings with beadboard. Similar in price and it shouldn’t look cheap.

Great solution to older plaster ceiling with cracks always showing thru. The A La Maison tiles true up the waivy old plaster, and old cracks that always have to be refinished! Thanks a million. We would have had to tear out and redo otherwise. We have already convinced friends into using this product, and will eventually order more for every room in our house. Bye for now!!!!!

Looks great at our guesthouse!

We own a 172 year old house and one of the ceilings had old water damage on it that needed to be covered up. These tiles were the perfect solution and were quite simple to install! My husband and I did it over the course of 3 days, about 4 hours each day but that included removing the old wallpaper from the ceiling (I know, right!). Day 1 was removing the wallpaper and placing all of the full tiles, Day 2 was cutting and fitting the perimeter tiles, and Day 3 was all the caulking. Probably could have been done much faster but we're pefectionists. Watch the video that they have on their website as it is SUPER helpful and walks you through all the steps. Great product and will likely be purchasing again as we have 4 other guestrooms!

We were remodeling a bathroom in a old house where the ceiling only had 1/4 inch drywall, and even that was not in very good shape. We ran across this product online at Home Depot and it seemed like the perfect solution. I read several reviews and installation videos on you tube which further reinforced this would be the perfect solution for our weak ceiling. It went up fairly easy using power grab to adhere it to the ceiling. The corners don't butt up perfectly, so there are gaps between the tiles. But after you fill them in with bathroom chalking, these tiles look fantastic. Like real plaster. They really add some elegance to this bathroom ceiling.

Romanesque Wreath Styrofoam ceiling tiles

While the tiles are very cool we were disappointed in the construction. The package says 20 x 20 but they are actually 19.75 x 19.75. They also don’t seem to be very accurate in the squareness as well. We have installed them but I am actually having to put a bead of painters caulk in some of the areas to fill in because the tiles don’t match up to each other. It seems strange that since these come off of the same machine that they are not more accurate in size. We do like the way that they look in the room but just disappointed in the the construction.
