Lack of transparency

I debated on what I wanted to say about my latest experience with Buddy Rest. I have been a fan for almost a decade and after my attempt to purchase a replacement bed and enduring the lack of transparency with Janel, I will no longer purchase another bed from them. After ordering the bed, I received an email saying I forgot to add the liner and they would add it to my order and ship it for free. Four weeks later I received my credit card statement and saw they charged for shipping and so I emailed them to get it refunded and inquired about when I would get my bed since I still hadn't received it. Janel’s response was “Due to overwhelming volume we are dealing with some delays in shipping.” I waited over another week and emailed again asking what the ETA was and Janel’s reponse was, “The grey is expected to be on backorder for possibly 2-3 weeks as they wait for the material to come in.” Needless to say, I had already waited over 6 weeks and was not going to wait at least an additional 2-3 weeks to get my bed and so I canceled my order and was issued a refund. I ordered an orthopedic bed from a different company and had it within 6 days, very similar quality. Buddy Rest continued to sell the gray beds on both their website and on the big box store’s website claiming the 2-4 week turnaround time even though they didn’t have the material to make the bed. If you are expecting your purchase in a timely manner, I'd pick a different company.

I ordered this bed six weeks ago and haven't received it. What I did received was an email to review it six weeks after I'd ordered it.

BAD BED RECEIVED

Our 12 year old boxer loves it!

Our 12 year old boxer is having hip and spine issues, and he loves napping in his BuddyRest bed during the day, it is easy on his old bones and joints, and best of all the bed is easy for him to get out of. Thank you.

The next Generation

I purchased the XL Romeo for my then 7 month old Mantle Great Dane, Magnum. He loved his bed! Magnum passed in December 2022 due to DCM. Heartbroken, I cleaned up the bed, which to this day has never been machine washed and smells awesome and is super clean, to possibly donate it to a no-**** facility. As fate would have it a 6 month old Mantle came to a Great Dane rescue that I follow and it was like looking into Magnum’s soul - looking into Carli’s eyes! Love at first sight! We brought Carli home and she immediately took over the Romeo bed! I cannot tell you how much this bed has comforted Magnum in his 7 years and now Carli starting out in it. Thank you for an amazing quality product! ❤

Quality control lacking

I ordered two replacement covers, in XL and L, gray. The color is very pretty, and the XL went on just fine. However I went to put on the size L cover only to find it was incomplete and therefore unusable. (Velcro should be sewn on 3 sides to strap in the bolsters, mine was clearly not sewn to completion). Customer service was very helpful and sent me another. It arrived several days later and was *again* defective (this time sewn incompletely but in different places). Where is the quality control? How was I sent TWO defects in a row?? I’m now waiting for my third cover (poor large pup hasn’t had his bed in almost two weeks). My success rate is rather low at this point, managing my expectations that my third cover was thoroughly examined this time before sending to me. I’ll update the review one way or another!

Defective

I ordered an XL and L cover. I love the XL, the gray is gorgeous. The L cover was defective (incomplete sewing on the inside). Customer service is very responsive and sent me a replacement. But it’s also incomplete and unusable. It’s been a week and one of my dogs doesn’t have a bed. Love the one cover that’s right, but the failure rate for my order is pretty high…

Excellent quality for my older pointer mix

Study and soft. The quality is worth the extra cost. The foam is thick and my dog loves the support. The curbs that surround the bed are substantial. You get what is advertised and as shown in the images on the website. I refuse to buy junk any longer so I pay for quality and take care of it for the long haul. Made is the USA is very important - one always hopes that is the case as advertised. I chose this over The Bowser bed as they started to get some quality concern reviews. This brand is highly recommended. My pooch is 47 pounds and long torso. The Large fits fine even though they recommended the XL on the chat. It would have been too large for my living room.

Romeo orthopedic dog bed size x large

We just opened our Romeo dog bed and our 12 year old golden went emeditely right on it. We have had bolstered dog beds before but this by far is the most comfortablist dog bed we have owned. Well worth the money. Thanks buddy rest!

Perfect and great quality

This bed is perfect for our senior Doberman, who has hip and ligament problems. She loved it immediately and seems to be very comfortable on it. We have the large bed in this brand, which we have had for a number of years and it is still in great shape. She still likes her large bed, however, she cannot stretch out on it completely, so we ordered this one which is an extra large and this is the most comfortable she has been her since her ailments began.

Romeo

Since unwrapping and even before removing the plastic, my puppy dove into this slice of heaven. Pretty much have to drag him off it with food or toys. Then the cat jumps on. Welll made and easy to move, even the huge size.

Long lasting

We bought the Romeo bed about 5-6 years ago for our dog who was getting older and stiffer. He is still lasting and so is the bed. It hasn't gone flat or lumpy, and still in excellent shape, apart from the cover getting hairier. It washes well, but the short hairs seem to stick to it. We got a young Boxer about 2 weeks ago from a shelter, and he has taken a liking to our old guy's bed, so we will have to get him one of his own. They are pricey, but they last for ages.

Best Bed - paws down!

This is my second bed purchase because the first was so phenomenal! My 2 senior dogs loved it and it helped so much with their severe arthritis. I purchased this new bed and I don't have a dog. I lost my last one in March and am looking for an adult or senior. I wanted to be ready with all the comfort she deserves. You and your dog will love this bed. It washes beautifully. Love to all the dog people!

Made in America!

We are very happy with the size and the quality of the bed. Our German Shepherd loves his. Honestly, I came across this website trying to look for products made in America. I know I probably paid a little more than one which would have come from another country, but it is important to me to support American made companies and products. Very satisfied.

Romeo Orthopedic Bed - Mocha

It is an extremely well made bed. Only problem is that my dog will not sleep on it yet! Hoping in time that she will. She is 14 years old and really needs the extra joint support.
