Toilet tank to bowl coupling kit

After trying other tank bolts and washers without success, this was the perfect thing to fix my leaking problem. The secret is the type of washer that came with this package.

Necessary replacement to original rubber boot.

After replacing toilet seal twice we realized the leak was coming from the bolts. My husband changed the bolts, which he purchased at a local hardware store, but the leak continued around them. He replaced them once more, but they continued to leak. At that time we decided to look online for Standard American parts. That's when we ordered the bolts from you, If they had not worked, we would have had to replace the entire toilet bowl and tank. SO happy with the products from this Company. I would have loved a new toilet, but with prices as they are, Standard American came through for us.

Fits perfectly, no leaks

Fits Am. Std as it should. Not too annoying to replace. Not available in stores, you have to order it on line. But isn't that becoming the case with everything anyway?

Basic flaw in toilet tank design

While the gasket package itself was of reasonable quality, even using one of the two replacement tank gaskets from this package we still have a slight leak problem. In my opinion, there is a problem with the design of the tank gasket assemblage. Other toilets have a nut on the bottom of the tank to compress the gasket directly through the tank base layer. This tank only has that nut below the attachment to the base unit of the toilet, so excessive tightening causes a risk of breaking the porcelain. Any motion of the tank (e.g. a user leaning back) can cause a leak. I have installed many toilets and this is the first time I have had this problem.
