Wasn't sure if our hard water would make us sorry we bought matte black but so far, no residue. Faucet is beautiful and changed the look of our bathroom dramatically. Only problem was the handles needed a 1 1/4 inch diameter hole on each side and ours were only 1 inch diameter. I had tried to avoid the problem but the online faucet specs only listed the measurement of the hole for the faucet itself, which wasn't a problem. So the plumbers had to come out twice and left us with no water or faucet whatsoever when they couldn't install thie one. We had to find someone who would come widen the existing holes in our Corian counter which wasn't easy and wasn't cheap. So we were without a working sink for 5 days and we were lucky it wasn't longer. But at least it was worth it! Better quality faucet than expected. Of course I've only had it installed for 3 weeks.

Well made faucet on the outside, but one thing...

Ive used Kohler for years and think the overall products are great. But, this aerator with special key is an engineering disaster... After the initial "flush" when you've removed it, good luck getting it back on wout disruption of the outer washer. Ive replaced 2. All cross thread and spray water horizontally. You are better off skipping the instructions that say to do the initial flush. Or buy one with a classic tried and true screw off.
