Wine rack is uneven

I took all the time to put this wine rack together and upon completion it was found to be damaged as all four sides are not even and the entire rack wobbles on even surface. Very disappointed. Takes some time to put together and should not be uneven.

The product looked different than the picture when it arrived. It is actually a red tone. It was also missing pieces and one side did not have any holes drilled for the screws or dowels.

Not a good fit, but pretty.

This unit looks nice, but the spacing between front and back support is too far, causing bottles to glide out of the intended space.

Different color

This color is like a cedar or cherry red stain. Not like the images shown. Easy to put together, inexpensive, and arrived quickly. I’ll be keeping it but likely painting it.

Rack right for the price.

Purchased this rack to store 24 bottles of wine. This was by far the most stylish in the price range and cost effective. It is definitely a redwood stain finish. Looks great next to my oak bookcase. I found it easy to assemble. I made sure to check it out before assembling, verified I had all the parts and hardware lined up after reading others having stated issues with hole configuration. In addition, I looked over each rack to ensure the most presentable pieces were at the top. A couple of the bottle holder wooden racks were a little shoddy. I would suggest using wood glue to install the pegs and let those dry to make aligning the shelves with the sides easier. I STRONGLY recommend hand tightening the screws or carefully using a drill as to not strip screws. I read some folks had challenges. I have it next to a bookshelf to ensure it has extra support. The weight of the bottles seems to sustain it. It is not super sturdy but works for us. I would suggest putting it in a corner, against a wall or next to another piece of furniture to protect it. Obvious suggestion is to keep the bottles away from heaters to protect the wine. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase for the price point.

GREAT WINE RACK

This rack, like most things these days, is made in China. You have to hand it to the Chinese that they can make a rack like this, pretty decent quality and someone ships it half way round the world and sells it for $32. Not sure it would be dining room or kitchen location quality but I am locating in a basement cellar so no worries there. Its a bit fiddly putting it together yet surprisingly stable. I used wood glue as well as the supplied dowels and screws which will provide long term rigidity.

Defective design

The design of this needs to be looked into. The bottle tests on the neck and two points which means it can slow slide towards the back and if it's an Italian wine with long straight neck it eventually slides to the point where it drops off the front support and drops down to the bottle below. If only on next level hopefully it won't break but if there is no immediate bottle below it crashed into the next bottle and breaks it causing a nice mess. Yes kit happened. I would not buy this or recommend it for anyone. They need to make the bottle rest a larger radius so they have more support. Spend more money and get a better rack.

Not too bad for the price

It was fairly easy to put together but I don't think it was constructed very well.. It is very lightweight and the wood will break very easily. Several of the boards were already slightly split when we built it and it would be very easy to get splinters in your fingers. I decided to paint it to help avoid that happening. I gave it 3 stars because, for the inexpensive price, it looks good and is a nice size.

Love the redish natural color. Super easy to put together and sturdy. Exactly what I was looking for! I only gave it four stars because it's a bit fragile when assembling. Easy to crack if you go too fast. Overall would definitely recommend!

OK for the price

Nice, cheap wine rack. Quality is about right for the price. Assembly was simple, but the fir used was soft and a couple of the shelves split when the supplied screws were driven in. Had to use carpenter's glue and clamps to repair the splits. Looks nice, but not a piece of fine furniture. OK for me - all I wanted was a rack to hold a couple of cases of wine.

Reasonable wine rack for the cost.

Remember, the item is only $39.99. It is good quality for the price. I had no issues putting it together, and didn't even open the directions. Its a wine rack, not rocket science. Just make sure all of the same notches in the wood are on the same side, so all of the bottles line up. Do not remove the screws once you install and tighten down because the screw heads tend to hit the wood and take a chunk off. Other than that, I enjoy the wine rack and I'm happy with the purchase. Already almost filled it up.

We were looking for something simple and not too pricey to safely store our little wine collection. This, however, is very light weight and unstable. The wine bottles slip forward and easily fall off. Big disappointment.

Color is darker than the photos

I was happy with quick shipping and the box was intact when it arrived. I was unhappy with how much more of a darker red this Wood really is. It looks lighter online in the photos. Some of the holes where the pegs go needed to have particles cleaned out just to get the peg to fit. There was also an area of the wood at the top of the side piece that was split about 1.5 inches but I used caution while assembling this using a screwdriver.

Absolutely Beautiful Product!

I am used to Walmart shipping fast, but this was the fastest yet. It arrived literally the day after I ordered it. Assembly was over all pretty easy, only a couple of smaller minor issues not really worth mentioning. As for the final product? It looked really nice in the picture in the ad. It looks much much nicer in person. It looks absolutely awesome in my living room! I totally love it, now getting ready to start my wine collection - which is why I bought it for the hobby. Great job, Walmart! Thank you so much! :)

When you assemble it, make sure that the wine holder supports have the small opening in the front and the lager opening in the back. We missed seeing this in the instructions and had to disassemble and assemble it. However, even with the adjustment, the wine bottles can easily fall off the wine rack unless you are careful in how you place them and remove them. They don't lock in place. Also, it is cheaply made. Keep looking for other options.

Extremely poorly made product. Does not hold wine bottles as the "slots" do not have "stops" built in so the bottles will simply fall off the rack.

Although this was easy to assemble and it looks nice, it has fallen over 2x and actually gave my leg a big gash. As I was putting the bottles in, they kept falling out (none broke, thank God) and I only put 12-14 bottles in. They kept slipping out and falling to the floor, then the rack fell over as well, onto my leg and left a big gash. I finally got them to stay in and stay put but I don't trust it. If I had small children or dogs, I would not purchase this.

zero quality control. hope you own a drill press

predrilled holes for dowels and screws were not consistent. I had to drill out 3 holes for the dowels as they were drilled opposite from the other holes on the same piece of wood. required must larger screws to get any bite on the same 3. If I didn't know how to use a drill press I would have sent it back. I could have built my own in the time it took me to repair and then assemble this rack. ,

Not worth the trouble.

This item is average at best and I would return it if it wouldn't disintegrate if I tried to dismantle it. As other reviewers have stated this does arrive with no assembly instructions, but it is very obvious how it's supposed to be put together. However, the materials are extremely cheap and of poor quality. The wood itself is unfinished with a strong Cedar-like odor, frail, and (at least mine) splitting or chipped in several places. Also, about a third of the screws that came with my package were already stripped or so poorly manufactured that the nib of my screwdriver couldn't fit into it to tighten them down (these I had to carefully hammer in.) I would say that you get what you pay for, but at $30+ you should certainly get more. I could understand if this was a $15 item, but that's not the case. That being said, it does hold all of my wine fairly securely (my Pinot-style bottles, which this was not designed for, are at the bottom just in case) and I don't feel like it's going to collapse. I gave it three stars because it works well for the purpose that I needed, but I would not recommend this rack if you are looking for an elegant or stylish way to store/display your wine, nor would I recommend it as a cheap way to have extra racks in your cellar because I don't believe it will hold up for years (and you certainly wouldn't want to stack two on top of each other.)

Cheap, no instructions

So obviously this item is inexpensive, but the "wood" definitely turned out to be of even lower, flimisier quality than I expected. Given the price of the item, this was not terribly shocking. My grievance is that this item did not come with assembly instructions. As it seemed simple enough to construct, I did the best I could in putting it together. I thought I had done a proper job until I started putting the bottles on the rack. Apparently, the rungs have different sized holes on them -- one side should have the bottle neck, the other the base of the bottle. I had not noticed that the rungs were not all the same and therefore they are not all matched up properly. On certain rungs, the bottles have to balance precariously on the smaller bottle neck rungs on both sides, often causing them to fall (good thing I don't have a hard tile floor!). If the wood were not of such poor quality, I would simply reassemble the rack; I'm afraid that if I removed the screws, I would be unable to put it back together.
