Nice value and well made.

Well made piece of furniture, the surface finish is a little rough but for the price looks great and functional. Easy to assemble with proper instructions We actually have another one of these shelving units in the tobacco finish.

While the shelving was a good quality product, the price was higher than some other offerings...

You need an electric drill and wood glue

I like the shelves. Unfortunately two of the three ordered arrived in broken boxes and with slight but repairable damage to the units. The shelves have pre-drilled holes for the dowels included. Some fit snugly (needed) and some are a little loose (hard to keep shelves in place). The screws intended to be used in addition to dowels do NOT have pre-drilled holes. It is impossible to screw them in without an electric drill, and then difficult because the space is so tight as to make a straight drive almost impossible (definitely not by hand). When shelves are completely assembled, there's still a bit of side-to-side rocking action.

Good quality for the price

I didn't put this one together myself but my husband seems to think it came with a lot of extra screws and wooden dowels. It is a little shorter than I had hoped (compared to the size of the box) but was easy to assemble and seems sturdy. Great quality piece for the price, and I shopped around a ton.

Terrible quality

This is the worst experience I've ever had trying to assemble furniture. The illustrations were very crowded, so it was hard to see the steps for assembly. There were no screw holes in the frame so the screws would not go in completely, and the top piece is just sitting on the dowels that were intended to be the secondary support. There is no way to get the screws to go into the wood without having holes pre-drilled. If this is the type of "quality" I can expect from Hayneedle, I won't be buying from them again.

Nice shelf- nightmare to assemble

I was very excited to put this shelf together. The instructions themselves were simple, however 5 mins into assembly I realized the pre-drilled holes did not line up with the screws. The holes were so close to the shelf it made it impossible to get the screws completely tight. Once complete, the shelf was still quite unstable. This is not my first rodeo with build-it-yourself furniture or a screwdriver, so I rated this product a 1 due to very poor design in the assembly process. As nice as this shelf looks and matches my home office furniture I would NOT buy this shelf again.I hope this helps someone avoid the anger and frustration I had while putting this together. Then again, maybe mine was just a bad one.

very nice book cases

We used these bookcases on the side of the matching tv stand. They look great together. The only thing I didn't expect was for them to be a little rickety. Other than that they look and function like they should. I would most likely buy them again.

Looks good but,will need to get different screws.

Went together about like any other. Just some small gaps on the sides. Think we will get real wood screws and washers to try and pull the wood tighter.
