I purchased the lawnmower for my daughter and her spouse for Christmas. It won’t get used for the next 4 months so can’t rate the function. It was very easy to purchase online and it arrived in 2 days a week before Christmas. Super quick and easy and they were very happy with the gift as well.
This is a great little electric mower, I have a yard that is approx. 30ftx30ft so I didn’t need anything too big. This has the right power for a small to medium yard and is surprisingly easy to move around, super light weight. The best part is that I am a RYOBI 18v nerd and have 25+ other one+ tools so it fits right in and I don’t have to move to another set up or have other chargers everywhere. If you are thinking about electric (I sure as hell wasn’t but here I am) this is nice for a small to medium yard
It is very lightweight. Got to be careful with it so not to damage it. I used it once and it was ok. Did what I asked of it. Cutting around areas I can not get to with my riding mower. Again, need to use caution with it so not to damage it.
It's small, and I love it
I hate big, loud, lawnmowers (and don't get me started on leaf blowers!), and there's no way I want a smelly, dirty gasoline one. I live in the suburbs, not in the country. I don't have a pickup truck. I recently bought a house with a lawn, and have to cut grass for the first time in about 20 years. I considered buying a manual push mower because they are quiet, but then I saw this sweetie. Yes, it has a motor but it's small, so not terribly loud. Everything about it is small, and that's what I love about it. I love the mulch catcher bag; easy to dump the clippings in the garden and around the flowers. Sure, it takes me three sessions to cover the whole lawn, because the battery has to recharge, but I'm totally fine with that; I don't want to do the whole thing all at once, anyway. I know this approach isn't for everyone, though, so know what you're getting!
The unit was easy to put together. Previous one lasted about two years before it froze up. Bag will become heavier over time as fine grass becomes trapped between cloth bottom and plastic skid plate. I had to cut a slice across the back cloth bottom to let out the accumulation.
Dumbest mower ever
If you want an electric mower pick a different one. We have a small yard and this thing cannot get me through just the front on less than 3 batteries or charges. You might as well pay $50 or $100 more for the better one than pay $100 for two more batteries. I wish I could just plug it in. Or that it took the larger batteries. Honestly wish I had my old gas self propelled Toro 2009 mower that I sold to a coworker when I moved. It's still going strong for him in 2024...
Perfect for smaller lawns
Love this compact cordless lawn mower, easy to use, even cuts every time, and folds down for small storage. Can quickly mow my lawn without having to change out the battery. My sister does yardwork for several of my neighbors and she borrows my mower each time...now they all want one 😄
Easy to assemble. Light weight but concerned about durability. The mulching feature was a disappointment. This mower does not cut grass fine enough and leaves a trail of cut grass along the side of the mower.
Quiet and efficient
Very pleased with this mower. Small grass area 20x20 for my dogs. I originally purchased a weed wacker mower because my dogs go ballistic with the gardener, great concept, but poor performance. Wanted something smaller, easier to store. Saw this one, size perfect, folds up, but you have to unscrew the sides. Actually have it leaning up on front wheels in garage, hooked to wire shelf. Easy to use, figured best height when mowing, grass catcher GREAT. Yes, I recommend!!
Ryobis are Great
I am a Ryobi fan. I had a larger style but then replaced some areas with patio stones and had only a small area of grass left. This little guy is perfect for my small area. It would be perfect for townhouses and it runs on a battery so no worries about running over the cord.
One pair of batteries will give me about 25 minutes of run time, which is plenty of time to cut my back yard, with the others charged as a backup. I can raise the cutting height in seconds, and changing the blade is a breeze with the included tool and I also love that I can fold the handles and store it upright, freeing up space in my garage. Great mower!
I was skeptical at first to buy a electric mower but this proved to be a work horse. I have a large yard to mow and the batteries almost make it before I need to replace them. Im glad the mower came with an extra set of batteries so I have no problem getting through my yard. It light weight and easy to maneuver, bag catches all lawn clippings very well. Overall Im happy with impressed with this mower, I would recommend it to others.
The mower cuts very nicely, even high grass,if you go slowly. But, as a short woman, it is very difficult to push. The handle is too high and the wheels are plastic and have no traction. I find it almost impossible to push up a slight incline. Given a choice, I wouldn’t buy this machine again.
Well thought out micro mower. One Lever height adjust. Folding handle with captured wing nuts. Nice baggar. It is the only one that will adjust to a tall enough to match the height I cut with the TORO
Lawn Mower
Great little lawn mower. Powerful especially with a bigger battery. Flaw I’ve noticed is grass will get stuck in the deposit area, the cover is so tight the grass cannot fly out. Every couple minutes I need to stop the mower, open the cover, and grab the stuck grass by hand. I ended up bunjee cording the cover upward, once I did that the grass flew out no problem and the mower ran much better.
It's definitely entry-level
I bought this (including Rapid 8A charger that takes 43 minutes) as an "upgrade" over my 3-yr old entry-level SunJoe (with a built-in 4.0 Ah) because it gives me option to buy additional batteries. Lasts 26 minutes on a charge (Lawn needs 6 charges) versus 55 mins for SunJoe. Front Right wheel falls off every 5-7 minutes (about 6 times per charge) - terrible QualityControl! Had to ziptie it! I'll get 2 more batteries and other RYOBI tools, so I'll add 1 point for versatility and upgradeability.
Built in Obsolesce
I have purchased this mower over and over through the years, because it is the only decent corded mower made. It eventually stalls out after about a summers worth of use, and you must clean the underside continually as you mow or it will clog up and stall out. The only reason I keep buying it is that the price of having someone mow a small yard today is about the same as the price of this mower. I don't understand why they can't up the quality on this thing so it would last a few years at least. When they break I give them away to people who know how to fix them. If you know how to maintain this thing you'll fare better. It is not for super thick or tall grasses or large lots, mine is 016., you need to use your weed wacker first. I wish they would up the quality and charge more.
We needed a small mower for a small mowing job, this mower fits the bill perfectly. It is very small, but that makes it easy to move around and get in tight place. Assembly was a snap and it is very quiet. It can bog down a bit if you get into some high super thick grass, but most gas mowers do as well. Well worth it!
Ryobi 13" cordless mower..."Great"
Wow, opened the box and thought it was a toy. We are pleasantly surprised with this 13" cordless mower and as my wife says: "Cute as a bug". I have had it for about a week now and used it to mow small areas of Bermuda grass. I have mobility issues and this was lightweight (mostly plastic casing) and perfect for me and my lite yard work. In some areas it was really great and eliminated the use of a string trimmer which can be tough for me at times. It has a very easy height adjustment and it was fun establishing the height level for the different areas to be mowed. I even taped a small note of the height levels to the top of the mower for future reference. The mower is very quiet so don't expect the loud irritating noise of a gas mower. No ear protection is required with this mower. It is not suitable for heavy brush or really thick/tall grass. 4 Ah battery lasted about 22 minutes in some fairly thick grass (small drainage ditch) and should get a few minutes longer life as I won't wait as long to mow now that I have this new tool. Quick and easy! I have mostly Ryobi tools so I have plenty of batteries. If not your first Ryobi tool, I would highly suggest buying some back-up batteries. Deals are on right now... 2 new 4 Ah batteries for $99.99 . I would suggest a larger battery if funds permit just to eliminate a possible trip/trips back to the garage to get a fresh battery. The "Some Assembly" was very easy and entailed screwing 4 hand knobs to secure the mower handle . My wife ( a boomer/senior citizen) absolutely loves this thing and said she will now assist with the yard work. The more the merrier. Ordered on-line from Home Depot and was shipped and received on the dates committed to (which was 2 days) so "Kudos" to the Home Depot team. I have 18 Ryobi tools and have never had an issue with them other than old age. I suspect the same life and reliability with this mini-mower. If you happen to mow some damp grass, make sure to wipe down the mower and as a must, clean the blade area after each mowing following the prescribed safety procedures (take out the battery and the starter key first! ). If you don't clean the blade area, the old grass will build up and limit the effectiveness of this tool. Take care of this tool and it should last a long time. It definitely met all of our expectations and we highly recommend for light duty applications. And for clarity, this review is for the Ryobi One 18v 13in. Cordless Battery Walk Behind Push lawn Mower with 4.0 Ah Battery and Charger.
Hunk of junk.
Don't waste your time or money on this mower. Just go with the big gas mower. We don't have a particularly large yard, but this thing clogs and stops working after three rows of mowing, so you have to stop, scrape all the grass clippings out of the bottom, and let it sit for a 20 minutes before it starts working again. I'm within the 90 day warranty period so I will be returning it.
