Beautiful Colors, Terrible Quality

I would be wary of purchasing this rug or any other from Safavieh. Ours came with what seemed like ten pounds of sand or debris in the packaging. I thought once we vacuumed it, the problem would resolve but it did not. We hung it out and beat it several times and the debris just keeps coming out. We are mostly never on the rug so it is not dirt we are tracking in. I am unsure how this product meets safety standards with the amount of debris or latex that seems to be wearing off from the power looming.

Pretty rug sheds a lot

I thought that this pretty rug would work out for me because it was wool. Typically wool is hypoallergenic but this one is not. I had to remove it from my bedroom when I realized that it was the reason that I had trouble sleeping. I was waking up in the morning congested. I bought the rug 7 months ago. I switched to another rug and realized that I was sleeping better with no congestion. Then I put the rug back in the bedroom and got congested again. So the problem is the rug. The rug looks to be a high quality but has continued to shed. I have fine balls of gray stuff that are everywhere. I have to vacuum the shedding up frequently. I have other wool rugs that don't do that. I will have to sell the rug because it is too late to return it.

Fabulous area rug...would have them in every room!

I have always bought my large area rugs at Overstock and now it will be Bed, Bath and Beyond. This rug is not an exception to the great look and satisfaction I have always had. It's lovely in pattern and colors (though more muted as mentioned in many reviews). I wanted the 3x5 but they were sold out with no back order date so I bought the 4x6 and hoping it will fit in the space I have purchased for. Two rugs go next to each other and they don't match exactly. One is perfect and the other a little more subdued in color and compressed wool loops. I will say the quality of this wool is not top notch but at this price who cares? Absolutely LOVE them and I do usually order SAFAVIEH area rugs. A+

Rug is the perfect artistic touch!

I bought this rug for our newly refurbished basement family room where I expect my new granddaughter to play and spend many hours with family. The rug is gorgeous, comfortable underfoot and colors go perfectly with our art selections. We got the 8x10 size which fills the floor area and we are not placing furniture on it now. It is a work of art in itself and creates a wonderful ambiance that is light and cheerful, but not childish. I don't know how it will hold up, but my experience with wool rugs from India is very positive.

The colors in the rug are very vibrant and beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice. I'm very happy with it even though it was supposed to be a 7' round. It is a 6' round but that's okay. I still really like it.

While this is a beautiful rug it is also an exceptionally stinky rug. Like so so so smelly. The smell was at first mold and mildew based with a hint of nasty chemical. The wrapping to the rug smelled so bad that leaving the strapping on the floor while we unbound the rug caused my floor to stink. I contacted Overstock and they said it was off gassing and gave me strategies to deal with same. They included vacuuming the rug , sprinkling it with baking soda and spraying it with odor neutralizing spray. They said that the smell would go away after 72 hours. It did not. First of all this is a wool rug. It is not the first wool rug I have ever owned. They tend to have a sheepy smell when damp. They do not have a strong rotten plywood smell with overtones of ski sock. That’s after airing, vacuuming, coating front and back with baking soda then vacuuming again and spraying with an entire bottle of Febreze professional. My husband and I got the smell down enough to bring this 90lb rug up the stairs and put it in the room we bought it for. It still smelled like a rotten plywood outhouse so I went through the process again but added these cat box deodorizer crystals to the process. That actually seemed to work. I then sprayed the backing with another bottle of Febreze. It seems to smell better but I still have to treat the front. After all this work and probably $* of materials I now have a huge stinky, though a lot less stinky, $* rug that I feel terrible about every time I look at it. My husband wants to take the loss and throw it away because he’s sure the smell will come back. I think it looks great and would like to keep it. I don’t know if the smell is gone for good- I hope it is- but I deeply regret this purchase.

Dramatic colours just as pictured online. Heavy . Overpowering design for my small TV room. Returned at my own cost. Lesson learned- don’t buy a rug online

A vibrant focal point for your room

I am in love with my new rug! First of all, I feel it’s important to mention that in real life, it looks darker and more vibrant than it appears online. The blues are definitely darker and deeper, and what appears to be cream online is a bit more beige in person. That being said, the quality is superb and it is an incredible value for the price. I’ve been looking all over for the right rug to tie my room together, and this is definitely it. There are multiple blue tones within this rug. I would call them slate, denim, periwinkle, and teal. Then there is also a medium gray and a beige. The tassels are a fun touch! It’s very thick and plush and all wool. It looks much more expensive than it was, and Overstock has the best price on it when compared to other retailers.
