Perfect Entry hall rug!

We have tile floors - which I love, but they can be cold and feel sparse, so an entryway rug was essential. This rug was perfect! I was able to choose exactly the size we needed, and it came exactly the size quoted. It came exactly as promised, on time and exactly as described. It cleans easily, and in spite of all the dirt tracked in from outside, hasn't stained - the dirt simply brushes off. It doesn't have that horrible rubbery backing which begins to crumble and fall off of a rug right after you buy it, just the beautiful clean backing, so glad about that! The colors were just as pictured, so the blues in the rug coordinate well with my blue and white living-room decor which is adjacent to the hall just as I had hoped. It is a lovely, thick wool, which is soft on the toes, feels wonderfully luxurious, and looks incredibly rich - a perfect first impression! I have purchased other rugs from this company of this type, and they are lasting very well, so I expect to have this rug greeting guests for years to come. The prices on Best Buy are, generally a bit less for exactly the same product - every dollar matters. Plus, they generally have a great selection - more sizes, different colors and patterns, so I always check here before actually making a purchase. Very happy with this lovely rug. Will be buying more of these foe other rooms.

Beautiful but sheds worse than my 3 dogs.

Thickness is great and you don't need padding underneath. The color is perfect. But we've had this for over a week and it sheds so badly and has clogged both vacuums. I have dogs so I vacuum a few times a day and the endless shedding is worse than dog hair. I'm hoping it gets better for how much this rug costs but I wouldn't recommend this for a living room you'll be on. It gets on everything and is difficult to clean off my 6 month olds feet.

The rug is thick and soft and much prettier than the picture (on my PC anyway). I would like to order a much larger size but they are temporarily out of stock. Keeping the small one that I bought as a sample because it is just adorable :)

Gorgeous, but not without some caveats

While anyone who shops here knows that OS.com princes cannot be beat for these thick, wool area rugs, you are always taking a chance in terms of color and patterns matching what is advertised. That being said, I am happy for the most part with my area rugs purchases here at OS.com, but when reviewing I will try to be as thorough as possible, including photos where needed. The quality of every Safavieh thick wool area rug that I have bought is fantastic, if that is what you are looking for. They feel great under bare feet and look amazing on your floors. The backing is excellent, with wide grosgrain ribbon reinforcing the edges. They will fit up your vacuum cleaner several times when they are new, but I do not mind this. I prefer wool and that comes with the territory. I originally purchased the 4’x 4’ round in this rug for my foyer back in Fall of 2020 right after I moved, and it is beautiful. It was so pretty that I wound up buying the 3’ x 5’ rectangle and the 2’3” x 11’ runner for my kitchen just recently in April of 2021. The kitchen connects to the foyer and I will now be continuing with the same color scheme in both areas. My complaints are: one, that you have to be careful with the looped parts of these rugs, as those can come up easily if over-aggressive delivery men stomp too hard in their industrial-soled shoes. I now have to be vigilant when vacuuming the round rug as the dude went a little nuts wiping his feet and have three loose pieces on the round rug. A bit more durability with this was expected and would have been welcomed. And two, the color variations (see pictures). Of course I bought all the same color (Ivory/Multi), but the runner is noticeably different than the other two (see pictures). You can't call it timing because the one I bought in 2020 matches one of the ones bought in 2021, and the one that doesn't match was bought in the same order as one of the ones that does match. I have written 3 times to OS.com to give them the opportunity to address this, but I have gotten zero response back. Lousy customer service, that. Thus, you are about to read the reason why some of my reviews are not automatic 5-stars: I can forgive the loose loopings in the pile. Most people will not be as stupid with wiping their massive shoes on a fancy rug as that particular delivery guy was. But the color is an issue. I am a fine artist and I will FOREVER notice this. However (and here is a common thread you will see in some of my reviews of any of the area rugs I have bought here at OS.com), they are so well made and still VERY attractive (despite me being annoyed in the color variations every single time I walk through my kitchen), and OS’ return policy on rugs is a bear to deal with... so I am keeping them.
