Nice Additions for Us

We purchased the 9x12 area rug and matching 12 ft runner for a hallway. With the padding, we now enjoy luxuriously thick, comfortable surfaces on top of our tiled floors. Not our first Safavieh purchase and probably not our last.

Sheds terribly

Love the actual rug colors even though it looks definitely different than the picture, we did make it work! That said, the shedding is driving us crazy!! After 2 1/2 months we thought it would have slowed down by now. It fills our vacuum to the top every time. Rug is beautiful right after vacuuming but sure doesn’t stay that way for more than a couple of days. Called to complain and tried to make it right, but the representative said that’s what wool rugs do! (even though I have other wool rugs that don’t!) She said hers still sheds after having it for 6 years! So pretty disappointing.

Quality of the rug was

Quality of the rug was ok, but pretty disappointed in the color. The pictures depict red, or at worst maroon color as the main color. The actual product looks much more brown than even maroon. I received the smaller rug first and was going to have them cancel the big rug, but it was delivered that afternoon. Just didn’t feel like messing with the return for $600, which is probably what you guys bank on.

While it's take awhile, now I love my new rug!

It's not easy ordering a rug online. I took the chance and was very surprised when my rug arrived in an oval shape - my mistake, I realized, but the photo online wasn't oval when I made the order. Just be careful about that. I unwrapped the very heavy rug anyway and after a bit of getting used to the new shape, decided that I liked it quite well. The red color is especially beautiful - deep and lush. The pile of the rug is deep - another aspect that I wasn't really expecting to make such a difference in the overall experience. But now that I have it, I really like it. The deeper rug fibers are warm and comforting. Natural wool fiber is really so much better than synthetic, now that I've tried both. The rug sheds a bit, as all wool rugs do, so vacuuming is a bit of an experience. But after each time I vacuum, it seems the colors become more vibrant and I like the rug even better.

Love My Gorgeous Rugs

I ordered one runner and two 9x12 rugs, all in this same pattern: black and beige Heritage. One of the 9x12 rugs arrived in two days, rolled, and the other arrived a day later, folded. I was afraid they would not match (they are placed within a few feet of each other in my living room) but this was not the case. All three rugs are truly beautiful and well-made with a lovely soft thickness. They do shed a fair amount, and it’s hard to keep the black areas dust-free, though I know this is to be expected and I trust this will decrease with time (I may invest in a more powerful vacuum). One disappointment is that the 9x12 rugs are actually only 8’9”x12; I really needed those three inches in width… Otherwise, I am very pleased with the appearance, quality and price.

This is going to be a long review and I apologize for that, but you should stick with me because you need to know this before you purchase with this company.

I’m sure this is a fine company, although I have never purchased from them. What I can tell you is this: I just purchased this rug at 7’6” x 9’6” from Amazon for $250 and free shipping. It arrived in excellent condition and is a beautiful rug. You will not be disappointed in the rug. However, you may be disappointed in the price.
